| Totally agree with moon, if you aren’t dependent on them in any way then fuck em. You wouldn’t stay friends with someone who treated you like that and I don’t think family is different just because they gave you life and raised you. You deserve respect and you need peace to be your best self. Clearly your parents are just keeping you down for their own selfish reasons |

| Evergreen, if they hate everything related to it, and it's making you exhausted trying to change their minds, then fuck em. Put that energy into living your best life. They get you back when they decide to be considerate human beings. Not all blood relatives are family. My dad is blood, but he ain't my family. And he gets no part of my life anymore. But I've got a family friend I consider my aunt. I've had friends I'd consider siblings. I won't make a decision for you, but sometimes, it's better to let go. They were fine with you before they knew, they can either learn to be fine with you as you are or they can learn that what they have can always be temporary |

| It's crazy to me that people raise kids, the intent being that they become who they were meant to be, and then get /mad/ when that doesn't align with their own beliefs. Like, I get being mad if your kid ends up being a felon, but just being different from you shouldn't be /wrong/ |

| Sarcophapup i mean they didn't treat me differently until i came out to them, which could've been a mistake moon I've reminded them almost everytime i visit. Sometimes i just don't bother though because is exhausting repeating the same shit over and over. I mean, even my teachers back when i want in college called me my chosen name when i hadn't yet changed it. I think my parents just hate everything related to this stuff. |
