Name: Charlie Dariel Day Age: 21 Gender: Male Sexuality: Hasn't thought about it / Doesn’t care Birthday: December 13th Appearance: Charlie has the body structure of his mother, but, much to his dismay, the appearance of his father. While he doesn't appreciate having his mother's body type, he much rather look like a kid than look anything like his father. That is why he always dyes his hair and puts colored contacts in. And when I say always, I mean always. His little sister literally doesn't even remember his normal appearance, nor has his friends and teachers from highcshool ever seen an un-dyed strand of hair on his head. Naturally, this leads his hair to be very unhealthy. It's extremely brittle, rough to the touch and it has so many split ends you can't count them all. But that doesn't stop Charlie from continuing to dye it, because he refuses to look like his father. Now, you may be wondering, what does his father even look like? Well, Andreas has smooth chocolaty brown hair with a rectangular eye shape that is greyish blue in color. Charlie is the spitting image of his father in these two categories. . Normally when Charlie dyes his hair, it's usually some shade of pink or blue. This time around, however, Charlie ran out of his pink hair dye. He didn't want it to look weird, so he did the only logical thing someone can do in this situation - he opened the box of blue dye that he had on hand and finished the job. That is how he came to have a random patch of blue color on the right side of his head. Granted, he could've just gotten more pink dye and dyed over the blue once everything was said and done, but he decided he liked the unique look. Besides, it was another way to rebel against his father. There was no way he could let the opportunity go! As for his contacts, he has quite the collection of different colors and types. But his favorite pair is what the box says is a "buttery salmon" color. . Moving on, as I lightly mentioned earlier, Charlie looks quite child-like. He gets mistaken for a kid pretty often. This is thanks to his mother's dang body type that she just so kindly gave him. The round face, the small nose and mouth, the wide hips but narrow chest... none of that helps his case, especially when as of right now, Charlie is only 5'4. You could easily describe him as a cute young woman or a middle school boy. Neither of which he appreciates being called. That's why he hates tight clothes - they just intensify his large hips and small chest(or lack of muscle, whatever you want to call it). If you're thinking that baggy clothes will just make him look more like a kid, you wouldn't be wrong, but Charlie just hasn't quite figured that out yet. . The only thing Charlie has in his arsenal that his parents don't is a dapple of freckles on his nose and cheeks. This addition comes from his mother's father and is the only body feature of his that he isn't self conscious about. As for the freckles themselves, they start darker on his nose and lighten as they move across his cheeks. Speaking of his cheeks, Charlie almost always has bandaids and scratches on his face, or on his body in general, due to his constant adventures and the risks he takes. But he doesn't mind in the slightest because he thinks it makes him look like a cool gangster or something. . Clothes wise, as I said earlier, he always wears slightly baggy clothes. He doesn't really have a set style other than that, he just buys and wears whatever he thinks is coolest that day. He does, however, have some recurring accessories that he likes to wear. - Baseball Cap; Charlie found this hat in the attic of his father's mansion. When he asked who's it was, his mother told him it used to be her father's. From there, he kinda fell in love with it. He doesn't know why he likes it so much, but he does, and wears it whenever it's a good day for a hat. - Necklace; When his sister was only seven, she saved up her allowance money to buy a present for her only and favorite big brother... Charlie hasn't taken it off since. Touch it and he will kill you. - Fingerless gloves; This was Charlie's first ever accessory and the first thing he ever bought with his own money, so it holds a special place in his heart. He doesn't like to get them dirty but wears it quite often despite that. - Bandage wraps; These were literally just last minute purchases because he thought it would make his father angry(which it did). He's literally only had them for about a month now, so he couldn't really care less about them. Personality: Nonconformist To kick things off, we'll start with Charlie's most prominent trait - his nonconformist attitude. He absolutely hates being restricted or being forced to do something. Now, if someone doesn't tell him to do something but instead suggests it, he will think it over and chances are he will listen. And of course, he's not so extreme that he will break the law or ignore the words of an authority figure just because he doesn't like it, but you can bet he will be pretty annoyed with said law or authority figure. He also hates routines because to him they are restricting, and like I said before, he hates being restricted. You might think he hates small spaces, but he's actually fine with them as long as he chooses to be in the tight space. While he doesn't enjoy them, he also tolerates crowds just because he knows people are apart of life. So the moral of the story is if you ask Charlie nicely, he will probably listen. But if you force him to do it, he will fight back and most likely hate you for a day or two. Also, just let him do whatever he wants and he shall more than likely love you <3 Adventurous The second most prominent trait of this human called Charlie is his adventurous spirit. He loves to try new things and eat new foods. He's always on the lookout for new experiences and challenges. He loves to go to places he's never been before and explore everything that place has to offer. And while he likes going to new restaurants or shops, the thing he loves to explore the most is the outdoors. Take him to a walking trail or a park on a nice day and he'll be content to stay there for literal days. He loves climbing trees, smelling flowers, watching wildlife, playing in the brooks and streams, listening to nature sounds... Seriously, what isn't there to like about nature? Yeah, he may be a tad bit childish, but sometimes you just need to let your inner child shine. And If he's having a down day, he'll instantly feel better if you take him on an adventure. Just let this man explore and be free and he'll be happy. Spontaneous Charlie can be quite spontaneous at times, and his adventurous personality doesn't help. He's the type of guy who'll drop almost anything to go on a road trip with his friends because he thinks it'll be fun. He's practically the king of last minute things. In the middle of the night he can decide he wants to go swimming and then follow through right that second. He will completely forget about sleep and go swim in a lake or something instead. You might think I'm exaggerating, but I'm not - he's literally done it before, much to his parents's disapproval. So yeah, wanna have last minute crazy fun? Just go ask Charlie what he feels like doing. Bold Charlie isn't afraid of failure or saying what's on his mind. And you've probably gathered by now that he isn't afraid to take risks. Afterall, what's life without atleast a little bit of risk involved? He knows he's not perfect, but at the same time, he doesn't let that define him. Sure, bad things can happen when you are in the unknown, but who knows when you're going to have another chance at finding something worth while or important? He stands up for others and protects them, even if he doesn't even know them. He's just that type of guy. However, he's not flawless and when faced with his insecurities, like his body, parents or love in general, he does tend to clam up. But otherwise, you can bet he's gonna speak up. Curious Ever since he was young, Charlie has always had a desire to explore, learn and discover. He's a natural scientist! That is, if he had better focus. He is curious about a lot of things, yes. Since he's grown, though, he isn't interested in everything like he used to be. When he does want to learn about something, he's the best student you can have. He always asks questions, he loves learning and he loves to test out theories. But when he doesn't feel excited by the topic of study, he becomes extremely bored and turns into one of the worst students you could have, always daydreaming or messing around. So yeah, he can be really hot 'n cold when it comes to school/learning. But overall, he isn't a horrible student. And he usually has atleast a little bit of interest in whatever you're talking about. Carefree Charlie just doesn't get very stressed about everyday problems. Oops, he forgot his password. Oh, and look at that he ran out of milk for his ceral. And now his friend is late for their meeting. He responds to all of these problems by saying, "Too bad. Guess I'll just have to work around it." And getting over it. He doesn't waste a single thought towards the problems that he views as small. That is to say, he does worry and get stressed. Especially when things pile up or big, dramatic things happen. But for the most part, he's chill. All he worries about is being happy and living life to the fullest. Ambivert Charlie is totally okay with being by himself or sitting alone for lunch. At the same time, he's down to talk and hang out with his friends, or even chat with someone entirely new. He's always open for interactions with people, but he also values silence and his alone time. He's a good listener and a good communicator. He's very flexible when it comes to social situations, often becoming more chill for introverts but being able to be just as loud as the extroverts. He is a perfect mix of introvert and extrovert. Now, with all of that said, Charlie is also quite independent. He doesn't need or want anyone's pity or help. He's content to take care of himself and be on his own most of the time. Nonjudgmental Charlie always has a "you do you" attitude towards people and he expects them to have the same attitude towards him. He couldn't care less about what you're doing as long as it doesn't negatively effect him or those he's close to. Sure, he might think it's weird or whatever, and he'll probably tell you that, but he won't think bad things about you. Believe me, he rather focus on your good traits than the things he doesn't agree with. Plus, he always trys to make sure to ask questions and use the facts to determine whether your hobby or personality is good or not. However, if you are his father or anything like him, you won't get any mercy and he will straight up judge you to your face. So goodluck with that. You will need many prayers ;) Flaws: 1. Charlie is easily riled up and can be quick to anger because of it. 2. He doesn't really know how to love someone romantically. 3. Though he may not act like it, Charlie is very insecure when it comes to his body and appearance. His father often shows disdain for his androgynous features, but seriously, it's not like he asked to have a girlish appearance! So yeah, Charlie hates it when people call him cute or small. Likes: 1. Going on adventures 2. Almost anything with bold flavors or bright colors 3. Nature 4. Birds 5. Early mornings 6. Books 7. Traveling Dislikes: 1. Being told what to do or being restricted 2. Bland things 3. Uptight people 4. Formal dancing 5. Two words; His father 6. Cold weather 7. Fitted clothing Skills: 1. A couple of years ago Charlie went through a 'different languages are so cool' phase and because of that he knows quite a few different languages. Keep in mind, he isn't fluent in basically any of them and really only knows a few sentences in each. He knows Spanish, Korean, Chinese, French and German. The only two languages he is fluent in are English(obviously) and ASL. 2. Charlie is a quick learner and quite good at remembering things when he actually pays attention and trys. 3. Charlie is basically a monkey. Because he's so small, he can fit into basically anything and anywhere. Plus, he's just naturally flexible. He's also gifted with agility and the ability to climb. So bottom line is that there is nowhere you can hide from this boy. Backstory: Both Charlie's parents are important people in the business world. To further their companies and social standing, they entered into a marriage of convenience. Of course, that means there was no love involved. The sole reason Charlie has two older sisters is because his father wanted a son to take over his side of the company(his younger sister was a last ditch effort to get a boy). But then he got Charlie, a good-for-nothing in his eyes. So yeah, his father isn't exactly very happy. Whatever the case, because of his loveless home life, Charlie doesn't really believe in love. I mean, he wouldn't mind having someone who stayed by his side through thick and thin and wherever he wanted to go, but does a girl like that seriously exist? Besides, what is love anyway? And most importantly, even if love is real, who would want a reckless wild child(according to his father) like him? Which begs the question, how in the world did Charlie end up entering into the same contract his parents did: A marriage of convenience?? Affiliations: Charlie knows atleast one thing about all of the people on his block(aka everyone he has access to) Father: Andreas Day, or the Devil if you ask Charlie. That is to say, they do not get along in the slightest. Mother: Bianca Day(Westwood). She is just as ruthless as her husband but Charlie doesn't hate her nearly as much. Mainly because she likes to spoil him and the rest of her children. Oldest sister: Edith Day. Edith wants nothing to do with Charlie, and he is fine with that. Edith sees Charlie as rival because she wants to be the one to take over her parents's business but for some stupid reason, her father won't give up on Charlie. So yeah, Edith lowkey hates her little brother. Older sister: Lucy Day. Charlie and Lucy get along pretty well, though they do tend to fight alot just because both Day children are spirited. Youngest sister: Scarlett Day is the baby of the family. You bet everyone loves and spoils her. Excluding her father and oldest sister, that is. Charlie absolutely adores Scarlett and would do almost anything for her. She is the whole reason he hasn't completely lost it when it comes to his family. Extra: 1. Even though Charlie will eat spicy things just for the heck of it, he really can't handle spicy foods. 2. For better or for worse, Charlie's face is very expressive. 3. Charlie loves basically any sport that involves teamwork and running around, but he especially loves volleyball. It's his favorite sport ;) Edited at August 4, 2025 12:33 PM by Terebinth Wolves

Selene Rumi Pope Age: 22 Gender: Female Sexuality: Heterosexual Birthday: May 31st Appearance: Selene is a small woman, standing around 5'0" when not in heels. Most would think she's often mistaken for a child, but with her body type that is hardly the case. She has an hour glass figure, with delicate shoulders and a slender waist. Her bust is of generous size and her hips are wide enough to be seen as curvy, tapering into toned, fit thighs and slender calves. She is pure woman, and unashamed of it. She is confident in her own skin, which is a warm golden color. She has a singular beautymark beneath her right eye and two on her right shoulder. Aside from that, she has no other freckles, moles, or even scarring. Her skin is quite literally perfect. Her face is diamond structured, her features carved with a purpose, her jawline defined and her cheekbones high. The slope of her nose is straight and narrow, ending in a softly upturned button, much too cute for that typical hardened expression. Her lips are lush, plump and pink, and often swollen from her biting them when in private. Even someone as confident as she makes out to be has their nervous habits. Her eyes are bright and fox-like, often gleaming with something deep and mischievous. Their color are a light yellow-gold, her lashes dark and long. She often looks really unsettling with such cold, empty orbs, and that is a trait she has her mother to thank for.
Selene's favorite feature is likely her hair. It is long, well past her waist from years of uninterrupted growth. It is glossy and thick, its natural white color always carrying a healthy sheen. It has a slight curl and bounce to it, and she almost always wears it down, save for a few pieces tied away from her face. She works hard to keep her hair healthy, and it would almost be safe to say that she cares more about her hair than her general health. When it comes to clothes, Selene is more often than not dressed up. If she's out and about, she has a reputation to uphold. Cocktail dresses are her go to, often in a wide variety of color and style. Most are body hugging, showing off her curves, her confidence in them demanding attention wherever she goes. She almost always pairs them with heels that give her a few inches, as she actually detests her short height. She doesn't like feeling looked over or being taken as a joke for being small and unimposing. She always adorns a pair of golden hoop earring, which were given to her as a gift from her late grandmother. They're all she has left of the woman, save for an old cook book. Though Selene prides herself in fashion, she actually prefers comfort. When at home, alone and away from prying eyes, she'll be the first to choose oversized clothing that are warm and soft. Hoodies, t-shirts, sweatpants, fuzzy socks, you name it and she'll take it. Doesn't even matter if it's hers. Personality: Selene is a woman of sharp intellect and unmatched ambition, a CEO whose presence commands the room without a single word. Cold and methodical, she navigates the corporate world with precision, keeping her personal emotions at arm's length. She doesn’t believe in friendships or emotional bonds; they are distractions that could cloud her judgment or slow her progress. The lines between work and personal life blur for her, but the truth is, she doesn't have a personal life—not in the way most people would recognize it. She prefers the company of her sleek, well-organized office and her fluffy cat, Monty, who provides her with the only form of companionship that doesn’t demand anything from her. Her demeanor is quiet, but the silence is potent. When Selene speaks, people listen because they know the weight of her words is never wasted. She is a woman who commands respect simply by existing. Her face is often impassive, a carefully curated mask that hides any vulnerability or weakness. Her colleagues and subordinates alike know that crossing her is a dangerous game. She is not the kind of person who tolerates mistakes or weakness, and she has no patience for anyone who doesn’t meet her exacting standards. In many ways, she is a fortress, and she prefers it that way. The walls around her are built not from brick and stone but from years of calculated emotional distance and self-reliance. Selene claims, with unwavering conviction, that she cares about no one but herself. Relationships, whether personal or professional, are an inconvenience she has learned to avoid. She has no time for love or friendship as these are indulgences that she cannot afford. People are tools, or obstacles, in her eyes. To her, life is a game of power, strategy, and achievement, and anyone who stands in her way is simply irrelevant. There is a distinct chill to her, a deliberate isolation that others find unsettling. When someone tries to get too close, she quickly shuts them out, hiding behind her icy walls with a ruthlessness that’s second nature to her. Yet, beneath the surface of this seemingly impenetrable woman lies a quiet ache—a longing she is desperate to bury. Selene is terrified of intimacy, haunted by a past that left her scarred. She longs for comfort, for a space where she can simply be without the burden of expectations or the fear of betrayal. But that part of her, that softer, more vulnerable side, remains locked away. She’s afraid to open the door, to let anyone close enough to touch the parts of her she’s kept hidden for so long. The fear of being hurt again holds her back, and so she continues to live in solitude, her heart cold and untouchable, frozen in time, unwilling to risk being burned once more. Flaws: 1. Selene is extremely private and anti-social to the point of isolating herself. 2. She doesn't quite know when she's being too serious. She tries to make jokes, she just often fails before shutting down again. 3. Selene believes no one could ever love her for herself. She thinks they only want her status, money, and what have you. So, what's the point in being lovable if it won't work out that way?
Likes: 1. Cuddling, mainly with Monty 2. Monty, her fluffy, smoky grey Persian cat.
3. Sweet foods 4. Baking and cooking almost anything 5. Late nights 6. Being home 7. Romance books and movies Dislikes: 1. Being stared at 2. Formal events (she attends them often) 3. Most people 4. Super loud noises 5. Being completely alone 6. Cold Weather 7. Spiders Skills: 1. Selene is very smart. She has worked hard to learn everything there is in the world of business. She's very skilled in everything from finance, to meetings, to organizing and graphs and statistics. She's extremly good at math. 2. Selene is fluent in Spanish. No one knows that outside of her family, though. 3. Selene could have been an assassin if she wanted. Even in heels, her steps are completely silent when she aims for them to be. She's quite good at sneaking around, as one needs to be when they are avoiding attention from unwanted sources.
Backstory: Maybe later... Affiliations: Father: Marcus Pope. Daddy dearest, enjoys spoiling his daughter. Has given her everything she's ever wanted, but refuses to let her stay single forever. Mother: Naomi Pope (Seacrest). Devil incarnate. She despises her own daughter for some reason. She always pushed Selene to focus only on business and her future as heir, barely ever allowing her a personal life, even as a child. Business this, business that. She wanted son, and instead was cursed to only have one child, no matter how hard she tried. Grandmother: Vivian Seacrest (Deceased). Selene cherished that woman with her very being. She was the only one who truly treated her like a person instead of a pawn. She passed when Selene was fourteen. Extra: 1. Often goes on late night runs or star gazes on the roof :) 2. Is a clothing thief. Protect your favorites.
3. Totally afraid of thunderstorms.

A light breeze ruffled Charlie's brightly colored hair as he sat atop the roof of his father's mansion. A blank expression played on his features as he tried to wrap his head around the sheer audacity of what his parents had done. The moment his father had called him home, Charlie knew things weren't going to be good. But he never expected it to be this bad. Apparently his parents had offered his own hand in marriage to some random boss lady CEO. She was supposed to be rich, smart, hardworking. All that good stuff. The only problem was... he didn't even KNOW this woman. And he DEFINITELY didn't agree to this. After thinking about it for hours, he only managed to come up with one good thing about this whole situation. Marrying meant his parents would stop bothering him. Atleast, for the most part. As long as he played the part of husband decently enough, his parents would probably only occasionally check in and nitpick. . Before Charlie could internally die more than he already had, Edith, his oldest sister, called up to him from the lawn. "Charlie! Dad says Selene will be here in half an hour and he wants you ready! He already picked out the outfit he wants you to wear! It's on the counter!" Charlie's expression turned from blank to disgusted. "He wants me to wear a fancy suit, doesn't he?" He groaned, reluctantly climbing down from his spot on the roof. All he heard was his sister's snicker as she walked back inside, which confirmed his suspicions. Great. Just great. . With a great sigh, Charlie dragged himself back inside, grabbed his stupidly disgusting outfit, and went to change. As he did so, however, he found himself wondering why in the world he was obeying his dad. He was an adult now. He didn't need to listen to him. He could totally just ditch this meeting and go do something fun instead. But... he also had basic human decency. He didn't want to stand this girl up, even if he wasn't the one who had scheduled the meeting. I mean, he couldn't imagine anything worse than showing up to a dinner and having to awkwardly sit with his parents the whole time instead of meeting the person you actually came to meet. That didn't mean he was going to behave, though. He did his absolute best to make himself look messy, even in a suit. His dark blue tie hung loosely around his neck and his shirt collar was opened slightly. He made the grey suit jacket hang off one shoulder, and he didn't use the belt so his pants hung low on his hips. . Charlie looked in the mirror, making sure his parents would die in embarrassment when Selene saw him. He looked barely decent. Perfect. With that done, Charlie didn't bother to do any other prep. He wouldn't brush his hair, or his teeth, and he wouldn't put cologne on like he knew his parents would want. Smiling to himself in victory, he headed to the dining hall where the scent of rosemary chicken wafted through the air. He had to admit, his parents had managed to do something right. Chicken had always been one of his favorite meals. Although chicken strips were always superior to any other kind of chicken, but he knew his parents would never serve something so "undignified" to a guest. . Charlie plopped himself in the nearest fancy velvet chair, hating how comfortable it actually was. He immediately pulled his legs into a criss-cross, further adding to his unprofessional appearance. Now, all that was left... was actually meeting this Selene girl. And embarrassing his parents as much as possible, that is. As soon as Charlie heard the doorbell, he knew Selene was here. So with a smirk, he grabbed the fork by his plate which had been layed out moments before, and started trying to balance the utensil on his nose. It clattered to the floor multiple times, yet he was determined to be balancing this stupid thing on his nose when his parents and Selene came in. He thought it would be a nice touch to round out his awesomely embarrassing appearance. . Charlie tensed in anticipation as three sets of footsteps echoed down the hall towards his place in the dining hall. Okay, one... two... three. Charlie managed to balance the fork on his nose just as Selene and his parents walked through the door. The young man gave a half-hearted wave, careful to keep the fork precariously on his nose. "Welcome to the Day estate. I suppose you're hoping I'll be your future husband? Smart choice. I mean, my parents are a big deal here." Charlie said, his tone almost bored, before his fork finally came crashing down again. Grinning to himself, he picked the utensil back up and finally layed it to rest back beside his plate. "Sooo, what are your thoughts about the place? I for one think this whole thing sucks." Edited at August 5, 2025 08:50 PM by Terebinth Wolves

“Selene, are you on your way yet?” Her father's voice crackled over the speakerphone as Selene darted around the bedroom, strewing about clothes and shoes in her attempt to find something suitable. “Not yet, but Dad I still have plenty of time before I need to leave,” she sighed, shrugging off the silk pajama set she wore before replacing it with a soft black cocktail dress. “You need to be early! This is the best opportunity you've yet to find!” Selene groaned inwardly, rubbing her hands across her face. It was the only opportunity she'd bothered to find. “Dad, it's fine. I'm going to leave in like, five minutes, I swear,” she stressed to him as she stretched and struggled to zip her zipper by herself. She managed, perhaps pinching herself once in the process. “Alright. Just be careful and be nice.” The pair exchanged goodbyes after Selene had rolled her eyes in silence so loud her father had inferred what had occurred. A little bell tinkled and something soft and furry rubbed around Selene's ankles as she brushed her hair for the thousandth time that night. “Nice isn't even in the equation Monty. This is business and that's it. Marrying some kid I don't even know and probably won't even like just to make them happy,” she scoffed, bending down to pet the cat for a moment before continuing to dress. As long as the guy didn't bother her, she'd be happy. She knew her parents wouldn't just stop with marriage, which meant she'd have to interact with him at some point, but that was a bridge she'd focus on crossing much later and preferably never. All they had to do were attend events together on occasion and look like a happy couple on the outside, and nothing else would matter. Behind closed doors, he could go his way and she'd go her own. Selene made sure to brush her teeth and spray on a bit of perfume on, which smelled like roasted s'mores. It was her signature scent, warm and inviting compared to her general demeanor. Finally, she sat on her vanity chair and buckled the straps of her high heels before bidding her cat goodbye and leaving the house. The drive was short and dreadful, silence filling the car as she made the thirty minute trip. Like usual, she had been kind enough to let her future husband's parents know that she was on her way. She hated showing up unexpected and unannounced, despite her father's preaching that she should always show up at least fifteen to twenty minutes early. He wanted her to make a good impression to this family so bad. She couldn't careless what they thought of her. Her family legacy and current accomplishments were enough to impress anyone, as was Charlie's family legacy. This dinner was nothing more than a formality before they were actually to be wed. Arriving at the estate, Selene took a deep breath before ringing the door. She was greeted by his parents, both formal and over eager in her mind. They were kind, speaking of their son as a pleasant young man. They made quiet chatter as they neared the dining room, and the silence became nearly palpable in those few moments before Charlie began speaking. What the hell did she just walk in on? Was this another one of their children? No— It was certainly the one she was set to marry. He was quite... unique. His parents looked horrified, which was amusing, but she wasn't too worried about them at the moment. She was rather intrigued by the young man. Selene took a few steps towards him, heels clicking as she moved away from where his parents still stood mortified. “I think hope would be a strong word... but we can go with that I suppose,” she hummed, her tone indifferent as she studied him. Him being her husband was sure to be interesting. Selene hadn't been sure what she was expecting, but it certainly hadn't been a disheveled guy attempting to balance a fork on his nose. His parents were a big deal, but that didn't matter. Not when her parents were giving her everything based off of marriage. Marriage and money or single and poor. Your choice, Selene. Make sure you make the right one. Her mother's words echoed in her head, making her grimace inwardly. It had been a warning, and there hadn't been a choice. And now? Now she was sticking herself with someone equally as enthusiastic. She spoke quietly, her words meant only for the man. “I think that this is a fine dinner in a less than desirable place. Unfortunately I'm here anyways, so how about we just get this over with, yeah?” She smiled at the end of her whispered words, but the smile was blank and empty. She wouldn't be so blunt to his parent's faces, but he seemed as pissed as she did.

Charlie took the upmost delight in seeing his parents's horrified faces. He could tell his mother was about to be sick, and his father looked like he was going to kill someone. Which was deliciously amusing. It thrilled him to the core to see his parents so worked up but unable to yell at him because a guest was here. Tongue-tied parents were the best kind of parents. Surprisingly, though, they didn't hold his attention for long. Although he could stare at his horrified parents for hours and not get bored, this girl... Selene, was it? She caught his attention almost immediately, especially as she came closer. I mean, she had white hair, and seemed around Charlie's own height. But he guessed without the heels that she was a bit shorter than himself. . Hearing the woman's whispered words, Charlie subconsciously straightened. His eyes sharpened, carefully observing this... odd woman, as he shifted in his seat, now sitting like a normal human being. He was expecting someone like his parents - fake nice. But Selene... she spoke bluntly to his face. Which in turn made him grin. Maybe this whole arrangement wasn't so bad afterall. Charlie wasn't quite sure what he was planning to do at the end of this dinner, but now he was seriously considering agreeing to the marriage. This girl seemed like she didn't truly want this either, so he was immediately curious. What were her motives? Was she haunted by her stupid parents, as well? . "Agreed." Charlie answered, his parents finally snapping out of their shocked daze. They immediately ushered Selene into a seat before seating themselves down... one on each side of Charlie. The young man grimaced, not bothering to hide the fact that he was not pleased. His parents no doubt wanted to make sure he was behaving, but there was nothing worse than sitting inbetween two slightly scary businesspeople. Not to mention he wasn't even interested in causing mischief anymore, as he was too interested in Selene. . "You know... shouldn't I be seated by my future wife instead of stuck between my own parents?" Charlie muttered darkly, already wishing they could ditch his family and just talk freely. His sentence was quickly met with a nudge from both his parents, silently telling him to shut up and be polite. There was no way that was happening though, much to his parents's dismay. Still, it wasn't long before the appetizer for the meal was brought out - stuffed mushrooms. Charlie's nose crinkled in disgust, to which he got an even harder nudge from both parents, making him wince. Jeez, was he a kid or an adult?? . "So, Selene, how has the business world treated you?" Andreas - Charlie's father - asked, his voice sickeningly sweet, atleast to Charlie's ears. "I'm sure your parents are very proud that you've decided to be their successor and work so hard for the company. I've heard nothing but good things about you." Charlie's face said it all: This kind of talk was disgusting. Yet he bit his tongue and held whatever complaints he had. Because honestly? He just wanted to figure this mysterious Selene out. And listening to her talk would probably help him with that goal.

Charlie had done more than just catch her attention. He was an odd thing, but Selene didn't mind. She had a strong feeling he was just acting out to embarrass his parents, and to be honest she didn't mind a show from time to time. She couldn't allow it if they were at events together, of course, but if he agreed she could make the arrangement worth his while, at least, she thought so. Selene had a feeling his carefree and independent nature would do quite well for her. At least, she hoped that it would and that she wouldn't regret the situation as a whole. She knew what it was like to be controlled by one's parents, and while she bent to their will more often than not, she could tell that Charlie wasn't that sort of person. She had liked the way he sat straighter when she approached and spoke so bluntly to him. He didn't cower, but instead he looked intrigued. That was good. She didn't want to be with a man who was intimidated by her. She needed someone who could deal with her bluntness. Someone like Charlie, it seemed. As he agreed, Selene grinned, her smile sharp and pearly white. “Lovely~” she chuckled as she straightened her stance before being shooed off into her own seat. It was odd, that they didn't have her sitting next to their son. Wouldn't it be customary since she's there to get to know him? She couldn't care less about speaking with them. She didn't need to know if they were to her likings, she needed to know if he was. Selene sat quietly with a neutral expression, knees politely crossed to keep from bouncing one like she wanted to do. She didn't want to appear impatient or anxious; even if she was. There was even a twitch to her own nose as the appetizer was brought out. Just had to be mushrooms. Selene wasn't a picky eater and would still eat the food without complaint, but she never was fond of mushrooms. They were weird and squishy, and honestly never tasted like much more than earth to her. Oh well. She'd eat a little bit and leave it at that. She had noticed though, that Charlie didn't seem very thrilled about the appetizer either. At least there was one small way they were alike. Not that it mattered, of course.
At Andreas' questions, Selene's lips struggled not to form a straight, tight line. She hated this. Filler conversation full of pleasantries that rarely were ever true. Sighing, Selene set down the fork she'd been using to push around at the stuffed mushroom on her plate. “If all you've heard is good things, then you've been talking to the wrong people, Mr. Day,” she told him pointedly, though another empty smile played across her lips to soothe the sting of bluntness. “I haven't made it as far as I have at my young age by being a good, sweet girl. I've fought tooth and nail to build a cut-throat reputation,” she told him calmly, her tone detached. It was no secret in the business world that she'd been a tough, borderline aggressive competitor. “But yes, my parents are quite proud. They're just ready to see me married so I can continue my good work,” she chuckled, taking a glance at Charlie as she fell quiet once again. Am I what you expected, Charlie?

Charlie Absentmindedly took a bit of a mushroom, watching as Selene pushed the appetizer around her plate. She didn't like them either? That was good, because it meant if they did get married, he would never have to eat mushrooms at home anymore. Which was honestly a big score. But then the taste of the mushroom hit his tongue, and Charlie finally realized that he had unknowingly taken a bite. He forced it down though, a disgusted look on his face. He even managed to eat half of the stuffed mushroom, before he pushed the plate away in silent refusal. He absolutely refused to eat more, and no one could make him. . The moment Selene corrected his father, Charlie broke into a wide grin, completely forgetting about his disgust towards the appetizer. Ah, she was a good woman. And he supposed she was good looking as well. The final nail on the coffin? The way she absolutely but subtly tore Andreas apart and left him speeches. Charlie couldn't help but break out in laughter. Charlie's mother, Bianca, looked extremely shocked and Andreas himself was left frozen. As the room fell silent, Charlie locked eyes with Selene, determination in his eyes. "I'll marry her." He stated simply, his tone clear and precise - he had made up his mind. "Anyone who can bring my father down a peg has my loyalty." . Charlie glanced at his parents, watching as their faces turned from shock to pure joy. "Really? Charlie, you will?!" His mother squaked excitedly, but he ignored her. Instead, the young man turned back to Selene, a charming smile on his lips. "If you'll have me, that is. I will respect whatever decision you make, just know that I am willing. Feel free to question me as much as you want. I won't tiptoe around the truth like my parents will. Afterall, this is a big decision and if accepted we will be living with eachother from now on. I only think it's fair that we're allowed to know eachother's motive and habits and personalities. Though I expect you to be just as open with me if this is to really work." . The lead chef came back out, ready to serve the next course - Salade Niçoise. But Charlie was fully focused on the woman infront of him. The one who had somehow managed to get him to like her within twenty minutes of meeting. Was Charlie's decision spontaneous, maybe even reckless? Definitely. Was it on brand, though? 100%. Nothing was more Charlie than agreeing to marry a stranger who had stood up to his father. He didn't need anything more, he was already willing to live with this woman. Even if she had a horrible personality, it would be fine, because it was better than having his parents breathing down his neck. . Charlie's head tilted to the side, amusement dancing in his eyes. "Speaking of motives, my motive to marry you is to get my parents off my back. And I have a feeling it's something similar for you? Isn't it awesome we already have something in common?" Bianca gasped in horror, and Andreas barely held in a lecture. And if it hadn't been already, it was clear to them now: their son was not doing this for them or the company. He simply wanted to be rid of them. That was okay with them, so long as his future was set in stone. And it would be if he were to marry Selene.

Selene found herself absentmindedly wondering if Charlie would enjoy her cooking. He seemed not to care for mushrooms, but they were a weird food so she couldn't blame him. She wasn't used to cooking for other people though, so if he did really agree to marry her she'd have to take his likes and dislikes into account with her own. If their schedules even aligned to where she saw him often enough to have dinner with him. She wasn't really sure about why she was thinking about spending time with him at all, honestly. It would be a paper marriage and that was it. They just had to look pretty for cameras and that was all. When she left Andreas speechless, she was satisfied. She wasn't one for bullcrap or pleasantries. Her parents hadn't even truly praised her for being as good as she was. They had expected it, pushing her to work hard or be excluded from their world. Her father may have spoiled her, but he still expected the absolute best from her. They wouldn't have taken anything less, and now that they had her best they wanted more. They wanted her married, and while she didn't want to think about the future, she knew they wouldn't just stop there. The people of the business world expected a lot from her as well. She came from such a prestigious family, and if they viewed the next heir as soft, they would crush her. So, she never gave them that opportunity. No one knew her as a soft or sweet or good person. No one. Selene locked eyes with Charlie, a flash of surprise crossing her expression when he agreed to marrying her so suddenly. She hadn't been expecting him to agree when he seemed so gung-ho towards embarrassing his parents and likely dispersuading her from marrying him. However, she could say that she was delightfully surprised. As Charlie continued to speak, she ignored his mother's shock and excitement, as only he was relevant to her world at that time. She knew he would want to know her motives, and hers were quite similar to his own. Everything else could be worked on, and while she knew living with someone new would be an adjustment, it was one she was willing to make if it meant momentary freedom from her parent's expectations. Selene had to bite down on her bottom lip to stop a grin from breaking free across her face when his parents looked so horrified again. He was a bold little man, she had to give it to him, and she liked that. A lot. “It is quite nice indeed. My parents won't leave me alone until I marry so that I can secure my inheritance, and with me you'll have the freedom to do as you please within reason,” she chuckled, paying no mind to the next course of food. She had an appetite, but not for food. She needed knowledge, she needed to know this man. If she could still get him to agree after she told him the terms, then they'd both be perfect for each other in their own, non-attached ways. “If you still decide to accept after I tell you the terms, then you'll have my acceptance as well. I do believe we will work quite well together,” she told him, her head tilted slightly to the right as she spoke. Selene was sure he'd still accept, so long he was away from his parents. “If you marry me, you'll be able to do as you please so long you don't risk destroying my reputation. All I require of you are the occasional outings to events, banquets, dinners, what have you. On the outside, we need to at least appear a happy couple, but away from cameras, we can just be... us. No requirements, no attachments. Nothing more than is needed,” she told him, ignoring any expressions or reactions from his parents. It was to be a paper marriage and that was all. She was getting what she wanted, and he was as well. She just hoped that it would remain that way and neither of them would have more required of them.

Charlie grinned, happy and relieved to hear that Selene seemed okay with him doing his own thing. He hadn't been very worried, but it was still nice to know that he would have some semblance of freedom. Even if he did have to pretend now and again. It was a small price to pay for true freedom from his parents. It was funny, though, considering he was practically getting saved by this complete stranger. Luckily Charlie wasn't above putting his pride down and having others help him. He definitely didn't learn it from his parents, that was for sure. His parents... they were as prideful as you can get. . As Selene set down the terms, Charlie nodded along, already envisioning his new life with this white haired woman. As for his parents, they quieted down, silently nodding along as well. Their marriage contract no doubt had alot more strict rules, but so long as their son was in a good position, they were fine with things. Though Andreas wished for Selene to put his son on a stricter leash than "you'll be able to do as you please so long you don't risk destroying my reputation". She didn't know Charlie - how crazy he could be. He would have to talk to her about it later. For now, though, he respected their conversation. . "Anything I want? Haha! Awesome! I was expecting you to give me some kind of list with hundreds of rules!" Charlie laughed, clear enjoyment written all over his face. He was finally gonna be relatively free!! Charlie's expression turned serious, his tone morphing into something almost sheepish. "But, uh... truth be told I'm not very... up-to-date on, how do I put it? I'm not very up to date with what's "okay" and what's "not okay" in the fancy-shmancy business world. But I mean, it's not like I'm gonna be hanging out with influential people that will judge you for my actions, so..." Charlie broke out into a big smile, "Don't worry, I'll try to think of you before I do anything crazy." . Charlie went quiet for a moment before his nose wrinkled in disgust. "Ewww. I almost sounded like a lovestruck husband just now." His father kicked his foot under the table, reminding Charlie that his parents were still indeed here. Ugh, annoying. Charlie stuck his tongue out at his father, already tidying up his clothes even as Andreas fumed. He pulled his jacket on properly and buttoned his shirt back up, though he left the tie loosely around his neck. "Anyways, yeah, I already knew I would have to show up at social events and whatnot. Unfortunately there's going to be no avoiding people with this stupid marriage. Not that I dislike people, I just don't like stuck up 'important' people." Charlie said, rolling his eyes. . "Sooo," Charlie started, leaning back in his chair casually. "Will we have to, like, be intimate infront of others? Like, holding hands and kissing and stuff like that?" He asked, his expression a mix of curiosity and disgust. Charlie didn't believe in romantic love, so the thought of kissing someone was gross to him. At the same time, it would be kind of interesting to have his first kiss. Then he would finally see for himself if kissing and stuff was really as great as everyone said. He highly doubted it, but still. And anyway, he wouldn't kiss Selene unless he absolutely had to, and he would still hate every moment of it, even if it would also be an interesting adventure of sorts. And of course, holding hands or putting an arm around her wouldn't be very bad, even if it was a bit weird to Charlie.
