Ghostpack was created by two wolves, but no one knows their names. We only know that they took in every traveller, every injured animal, and every rejected loner.
But Ghostpack didn't get it's name for no reason.
From stories told by the wolves that were potentially there, one foggy night they were attacked. A pack of territorial wolves weren't too happy to have neighbors, and they made sure that was clear.
Almost every animal, wolf or deer, fox or rabbit, were all killed that night. Very few escaped.
Three wolves named FoxFang, SparrowTail, and BadgerTrail all worked hard to restore the pack to it's former glory, but over the course of a few nights they noticed strange occurrences.
Food would appear in the Kill Piles, herbs would show up when a member was hurt, it made them both appreciative of whatever was happening and yet so creeped out.
But one night, it finally made sense.
SparrowTail woke BadgerTrail up, and went on to explain the dream he'd just had.
He woke up in the pack, but when he went outside to get a drink the ghosts of the dead animals had been there, going about life as if they'd never spilt blood.
He'd been about to freak out when one of the mysterious fallen leaders walked up, and explained that this was their afterlife. They were the one's to be helping out when things got rough.
BadgerTrail couldn't believe what SparrowTail had seen, and the next morning told the entire pack.
From then on, every summer they started to give offerings to the ghosts, like leaf art or special carved stones, as a thank you.
