After 2011 though there's government regulations in place to stop houses from collapsing though so it's not toooo big of a deal lol

You guys do get a few earthquakes here and there, right? I'd never live on the beach for fear of tsunami. I can handle tornadoes, fires, and all of the other weather here, but I could never handle a tsunami.

I didn't realize you were in NZ. The north isalnd seems more crowed(it has like 4/5ths of the population right?) but also has more unique mountains, and probably nicer weather

The best options I found are A) work in specific trades, or B) mke at least 1.5x the average salary, and then work for x number of years(depending on the route you take/specific salary) to get residency.

There's one spot in Otago(I think) that's just rolling hills, grass, and rocks, about 30 minutes drive from the coast, and then on the other side is mountains. I don't know what that place is called but it looks like heaven.
