"The Deepwood Forest of Kahon"

The forest is unnaturally quiet, here. Especially the deeper you travel into these inhospitable woods; you wonder how the inhabitants survive. Dense undergrowth and choking vines don't seem the kind of place you'd expect to find wolves.

But you do.

You know they're there, even if you can't see them, because you can smell them. You can't even hear them, really, they move so silently through the underbrush. You think you heard a growl. Maybe.

Maybe it wasn't wise, after all, to have crossed from the moonlit plains and into this dreary dark.

You're not really sure of much, here, but you are sure that this isn't the kind of place anyone would want to settle. The game here is small, and difficult to catch-- Not much there to eat after all the effort it took to wrangle.

You don't know why this pack has chosen to settle here, except for maybe the fact it's so inhospitable, they rarely see outsiders. Like you.
