One thing you must know about exploring is that CP is the most important thing to have in a wolf. Right off the bat I can see wolves don't have maxed battle resolve and agility which are the minimum to perform well in battle. I'd recommend at the minimum to increase the CP on perception, stealth, and luck, if you have mush to spare wisdom is great also
