There was also a cat I knew years ago that just drooled an insane amount and I have no idea why, but she was friendly
distant-lands
it could be a lot of things. they could have ingested something toxic, have a dental disease, distemper, etc. would be best to call someone and get the cats taken in.
TheFlyingKitten
How does it go from snowing like ass to my state having a fire/dry weather warning in, like, a week?
RosemaryThyme
Yeah I’ve heard about a coyote with rabies since I moved to where I am now, and I haven’t been here for long. I probably should’ve worried more about how that stray cat was acting now that I think about it
SouthernScorpion
several smaller countries have eradicated it but the US is just to large to do it
TheFlyingKitten
Never Ah, gotcha. It'd be nice if achievable, but alas some things are just not possible.
SouthernScorpion
it's a few cases a year but not common. I do alot in the rescue world and with native wildlife. being cats and strays it's almost certain they have FLV,FAIDS,ect..
Nevermore
Nah, Petri there is still rabies, I'm not sure that it's something that we can get rid of for good
RosemaryThyme
If there’s a chance of rabies, it’s not just good to call someone who can deal with it, it’s important to do so to prevent it from spreading. Hopefully someone that will put it in quarantine and watch for more symptoms instead of dealing with it in other ways
TheFlyingKitten
Yeah, wasn't rabies (mostly) eradicated in the US? I dunno, the wet mouth just automatically sent me there.
SouthernScorpion
distemper can do that. so can FLV. it's more likely to be those than rabies but AC needs called so they can be humanely euthed
MLadySkylar
Petry I normally feeds the strays but I don't know, they're just acting different
TheFlyingKitten
Sky Potential rabies case, that or they're just weird cats. Or what if... Oooh! it's a skinwalker! O_o
MLadySkylar
So Im sitting in my car right now, There's 2 feral cats staring and me and they're both drooling and looking kinda off
