Biography Tell me it's me you want And I'll stay But tell me too often And touch me far too long You will ask for my company once more But I am simply a ghost now
Jupiter and Neptune play a game of tag around me.
"I want him," says Jupiter.
"He's mine," Neptune bellows.
I let them play this game of tug-of-war. To feel their touch makes my skin prickle with euphoria. My fur stands on end at the thought of the tug-of-war coming to an end, with my body being split in two which paints the night sky.
For if I were to be split in two, they'd ring my body up to the stars. I would transform into some other constellation; something bigger than myself. Something bigger than I ever was here on earth. The wolves, the crows, the humans, they'd all know my name. The gods, heaven forbid if they truly do exist, would see me as an equal.
My decaying corpse would lay in the vastness of the open sky. Somedays you would see me, somedays you wouldn't. I would not be as cheeky as Venus, for I would not be able to move, but it would be the clouds to blame for my sudden disappearance. Fret not, my friend, for when the clouds disappear, I reappear.
I am your lucky guide. Follow me and my stars and you will find yourself where you wished you were. Sometimes what we wish for isn't what we always need, though, and you may find yourself in times of despair. To be grateful is a lesson many must learn.
