The female licked her chops from her meal, red staining her fur as she stood. The mangled wolf corpse, she left behind for good as she made her away from the territory, pausing once to lap at some crisp, cold water.
It only took a few minutes.Her ear flicked backwards to the sound of furious howling and growling, accompanied by pounding paws on the forest floor heading straight towards her. She grinned, revealing blood-stained teeth. She nonchalantly slipped into the river, swimming to the other side easily. Climbing out, she shook out her multi-colored pelt.
Her nose filled with the scent of the new pack, and she smirked, settling onto her haunches as she turned towards the noise.
The first of the males had her assuming a calm, relaxed position.
"You!" He bellowed, stalking to the edge of the river, dark eyes glaring at the she-wolf.
"Me," She agreed, lifting a paw nonchalantly to her maw. Her tongue lashed it, cleaning it effectively.
The sire was trembling with rage. "Did you kill him?" More streamed from the forest behind him, pacing along the river.
Carib lifted her green gaze, amusement flickering within the depths. She gave a knowing smile. "Don't waste our time with stupid questions. We both know the answer."
"Am I to assume you're with this pack?" A calmer wolf stepped forward, eyes calculating.
"Assume all you'd like, but you know what they say. It just makes an ass out of you." Cari was growing bored.
"We will be speaking with the Alpha. You will be punished for this."
One of the wolves growled in disgust. "I can smell his blood on her from her. What a revolting creature." This caused the canines to tense.
She yawned loudly. "He truly didn't taste all that good. Perhaps one of you will taste better?" She flashed her blood-stained fangs.
With a roar of anger, the enraged pack charged into the river. The female easily broke into a run, a large, sick smile taking over her features as she heard another howl. With a glance over her shoulder, she glimpsed the pack that owned the land she was currently trespassing on converging on the ones chasing her.
