Galbatorix looked lovingly upon the gorgeous scarlet red wolf prancing towards him. She licked his ear and whispered those three magic words that made everything seem ok, "I Love you". Then his eyes fell upon the limp sleeping forms making up their pups piling up on each other. And his heart soared with happiness. "I love you" Galbatorix whispered back into the red wolfs ear barring his muzzle into her thick fur. He could stay like that forever surrounded by everything so perfect. "I'll be right back" He murmured to her still reluctant to leave. But he still had to hunt. With three more mouths to feed he had a lot more work to do. Slowly he padded out of the den before taking one last long look at the perfect scene that laid before him. His paws carried him far to the border before he caught scent of anything. Elk's musk filled the air. Usually he wouldn't go after an elk alone but that elk could feed them for a while. Galbatorix fell to the ground closing the distance between him and where the elk should be. Quickly the elk came into view. Galbatorix prepared to pounce upon the incoming target. But its eyes, fear had make them wide and blind. It would be a easy catch when the elk was disoriented. The elk quickly ran past him. Passing him completely by giving him no notice. But Galbatorix did not give way to the chase. Instead confused, Galbatorix looked to where the elk had come from. Why it was afraid. Fire, the red flames hissed in the distance. The smoke billowing off from the trees obscuring the forest. The pups, her... His mind filled with images of the red wolf desperately trying to save their pups and choking on the think ash trying to escape the red monster. And he ran. He ran faster than he had ever done before. His paws carrying him straight into the the fire. The ash and soot clouded his vision. The Red flames tearing at his pelt. The charred trees and burning brush blurred in his vision. The pups, her... The pups, her... He had to get to the den. His paws carrying him faster and faster to impossible speeds. No, No, No They had to be ok. They had to be... Please, Please, Please, He burst into the small clearing, hindered to the point of being almost completely unrecognizable. The soot and ash hung thick in the hair making it hard to breath. No, No, No. He ran to the middle of the clearing. A charred wolf laid upon the ground. Patches of fur red like a fox shone through the layers of ash. Slowly the head of the wolf lifted to meet him. Three words escaped her burnt lips. Those magic three words that made everything seam as if it was all ok. "I love you" She whispered weakly before her head fell lifelessly banging against the ground. Her leg then moved showing three forms covered in soot. Their small bodies charred and limp. Galbatorix nudged them carefully once with his muzzle. Slowly he fell to the ground with them. Wrapping his body around the husks what was once his pups. And he let the fire take him. Slowly he whispered to the red wolf "I love you".
