Owlstar, the synopsis is the brain is funky and we technically only see 3 colors, that's why when you splash water on your phone sometimes you see red, green, and blue dots instead of the color you usually see Kitties, thanks, my brain doesn't recall things very well sometimes
Eye of Eternity
this quiz is killing me one of the questions is 'which of these did this art piece *not* illustrate' and all four options are things that, to my knowledge, the art piece did not illustrate
Kitties
They're a combination of wavelengths, and therefore still considered wavelengths
Ezranian
kit- i don't think black, white and gray actually have their own particular wavelengths? like, black is just an absence of light, and white and gray have equal amounts of each color so they register as neutral
Kitties
In simple words 1 structure pick up grayscale and the other picks up colour
Owlstar
Kitten I don’t understand…my brain can’t comprehend that kind of stuff XD
Kitties
@Moonfall It's because the wavelengths of black, white, and grey are all picked up by the same structure in the retina, rods which notably doesn't pick up colour. Colour is only picked up by the cones, and even then technically we only see blue, red, and green as other colours are reconstructed by the brain.
Eye of Eternity
i do know that there are some pelts that are counted as greyscale despite not being as such, didn't know it was the same with markings
Moonfall
Eye, white is all the colors and black is is an absense of them so grey should be somewhere in the middle of that, right? (I recently learned that mixing a bunch of colors is subtracting light waves so it doesn't bounce off our eyes, it now absorbs it and if it absorbs it it isn't another color, ever so paraphrased from my swisscheese memory)
Eye of Eternity
cae it does :3 and yeah any colour that isnt black, white, or grey prevents a palette from being greyscale oh that is strange though
Caeruleum
according to tp, these are greyscale: -WP Click- -WP Click- so you see why im confused, right? right?? :'D
Caeruleum
moon, im just baffled that one (1) red marking makes otherwise greyscale wolf brownscale :') tern, heck, monochrome slaps as a name :O i asked more because according to wp tp, she is not greyscale and its weird to me XD
