Biography
One evening, as she was being locked away, the human, a kind one but with a smaller frame turned her back on Eunowon in the same routine they always had to shut the gate after hours.
Eunowon silently apologised because this human was the only one that had treated her with compassion, before she rushed forwards and slipped under the bars as the gate slowly dropped. She knew the gates were on a timer and would not be opened again until 6:30am the following day but the human would be calling for help. She was kind, but not stupid and Eunowon knew that too. She kept running. She'd never been able to run so far in her life but the adreline kept her going.
She ran until she came to the edge of the trees. The city sounds behind her we're overloading her. The horn honking, the car engines, the smog. She wandered the tree line pacing eractically at random. She had no idea how to survive out here on her own. She had only ever known the concrete cell she was kept in at night and the viewing platform she was stuck upon during the day, where those gangly two-legged creatures that she had come to learn were called 'humans' pointed and laughed and banged their fists all day, causing the worst of headaches. The city sounds were only partially able to penetrate the cell she was kept in. Out here it was amplified. She didn't like it. She wanted to go back, but to go back would mean more testing. She didn't want to lose another eye. She couldn't. Her own reflection in the glass viewing platforms had scared her when she'd first seen the damage done to her right eye.
It was no longer brown, but green and buggy. It bulged out of her eye socket a little more than what was normal. Her depth perception was faulty now because of it. When she closed her good eye it was as though she was looking through a glass fish bowl. The world around her curved in ways it shouldn't have been. Eunowon whimpered. Her pacing hadn't stopped. She couldn't think right now. They were after her. They were coming to get her. She knew it.
