Rae lay down again. The pups were coming quickly. As the first one came, it was a girl. She licked it and named it Serene. The next one came, and it was a boy. She licked it and called it Forrest. A third and fourth, both girls, then fifth, a boy, and that was all. She named them Skye and Rose, and Moon. "Five." She murmured. "Five healthy pups."
She smiled.
