I definitely cannot XD my leg strength when i used to ride and work with horses regularly was good, but not -that- good dayumn |

If that was her horse it would definitely make sense. The horses I ride are ALL lesson horses, so it would mess up too much with leg signaling between the different people riding them. She'd have to have killer core strength to be able to post bareback. |

Tay It's possible but takes a lot of muscles to be able to do that And a lot of body control so you don't accidentaly kick the horse |

At least with the horses I ride you don't post while bareback, you do still move as one with the horse though, and you need more core strength AND leg strength to do so. |

Apo Yes. She had been riding with that particular horse for years, they're one of the best horse/human pairs i've ever met. Didn't mess her leg cues up, but she was extremely deliberate about her training with him. |

Acorn Here we are lucky the horses can feel when you are unbalanced and they stop by themselves so you can catch it ^^ Yeah i need some more core strenght too e.e I am exercising off horseback as well to get my muscless working hehehe Cyber Good to know that Trainer said i catch the rhytm pretty well but stirrups are the problem 😅 |
Apothecary |
Can you REALLY post while riding bareback though? you almost have to have stirrups to be able to post, if not it can mess up the training for leg signals for dressage and jumping I feel. |

I had a friend who could post while riding bareback. Her leg strength was insane :U |

If you think about stretching your legs, but heels down instead of toes down. Almost like cartoon characters stopping after running fast, or like you're sliding, the herls down gets MUCH easier. |

Amy Yep, that's posting. The goal is to move with the rhythm of the horse so it's a painless experience for both rider and horse |

Amy Nice! I've fallen off twice and got bucked once, at least the one I"m learning on is a pony not a tall horse. That's great, I have really bad posture all the time (stupid back brace made my core weak). Getting better though. When your at the trot, or trotting, and stand with the horse's rythem |

Posting trots are good for bumpy horses but the horse I ride I can do sitting trots because she is the smoothest bestest horse ever and so easy to ride. |

Okay so posting is when you rise up and down while trotting? Because yes i have been doing that But i lean on stirrups too much when doing that so i have been banned from using them 🤣 |
