Excellent question. I have no idea. I imagine some of the usual "season" stuff has been absolutely thrown off. Maybe spring inching into summer?

Just curious, because the season can be important for whether or not Ver can grow plants. I suppose I could imagine that it's recently been cold, so he can barely grow anything, but going into warmer months it would be slightly easier for him to do so. However, he can mostly only grow things that can survive in essentially any condition - the vines, for example - that was wisteria, a type of vine that can survive in various conditions. He can grow plants that are non-native to the area, but they will die quickly. So growing crops native to Virginia to help supply food would be difficult due to all of the ash and the broken, non-fertle land. Edited at January 16, 2025 03:16 PM by Lackadaisy

That definitely does make sense! I like the way you're going with this. The ash, surprisingly, does make for some solid nutrients. that is how we ended up with massive cucumbers this last year But just to help kind of keep things going in a "yeah maybe we can do it" sort of vibe, I imagine it's leading into a warmer spring rather than a colder one.

I suppose I could have added that you don't have to bother with Ver's umlaut -

Boe what kind of a device do you have? Sometimes, if you hold down on a letter it'll pop up. Alternatively, some platforms have keyboard shortcuts (which is what I use)
