Echo, why do you have to put that extra letter in "math?"

as an American I am confused as to why you have to make it plural

"Maths" is the british spelling and I think it sounds better. "Math" is only used in America and Canada I think.

Out of curiousity as it's december how would your characters deal with christmas? Do they have family? Are they alone? etc.

Vaxs family is dead, but Mara's family is completely alive

Mara would probably go home for Hanukkah
