im thinking about getting snakebite piercings sometime in the (far) future on one hand, they'd look so cool, and i genuinely think it would help with my self-image on the other, i don't know how to feel about holes in my lip, and i don't want to be at increased risk for gum disease thoughts? Poll Question: should i do itTotal Votes: 16

They are cool but I would say no. They can damage your teeth.

I haven't personally seen it happen but I have heard it could. What about a simple stud nose ring on the side of your nose? Not the bull rings. Those are cute. I just worry about your teeth. I don't have any facial piercings but I do have gauges.

I've done it before and never got an infection. Looks good, might give it a try.

I have a central labret [lip] and a tongue piercing - if you like the look of piercings absolutely go for it! Yes, oral piercings can increase your risk of damage but a good piercer will be able to look at your anatomy and recommend if you should/shouldn't get a certain piercing. Regular dental appointments can also identify damage early or potential damage - piercings are not permanent, you can remove them if they're causing discomfort or you think they're causing damage. [Yes they might leave a hole but honestly oral piercings can heal over really quick - so there might just be a lil scar instead which tends not to be very noticeable.] I've had my piercings for about three years and I can safely say my mouth is doing just fine haha - no tooth or gum damage! I've found having a hole in my lip doesn't give me any problems :] Edited at June 28, 2025 02:56 PM by Eternity

Dude id say go for it! You only live once and if you think it's gonna help your self-image then do it. Don't worry about the holes and the scars, it's not a big deal and not that noticable. I myself have a scar, and I think it's kinda cool. As for any health problems, if stuff happens just take them out.
