The Blood Pact

Long before recorded history, the world was shaped by seven ancient families, each descended from primordial sources of magic. Their abilities were not merely spells, but forces woven into nature itself—command over flame and stone, shadows and light, time and tide, life and dream. Together, these families kept the balance in the world.

That balance shattered when Maloria, a once-brilliant sorceress consumed by ambition, discovered a forbidden ritual that would allow her to steal and combine the powers of the seven bloodlines. Believing magic should belong to one supreme will, she waged a relentless campaign against the families. One by one, their strongholds fell, their names erased from history, and their bloodlines scattered.

On the brink of extinction, the surviving members of the seven families forged a desperate pact. They would seal their magic, allowing it to lie dormant for ten generations, hidden deep within their descendants. To ensure the truth was not lost entirely, one family—the Nymphs, bound to memory, nature, and time—would remain awake to history, tasked with guarding the knowledge of the pact and watching for signs of Maloria’s return. The rest would live as ordinary humans, unaware of what slept within them.

Ten generations later…

In the medieval realm of Atasen, magic is considered myth—children’s stories whispered around hearth fires. Kingdoms rise and fall, unaware that ancient power still pulses beneath their streets and forests. But the pact’s seal has begun to weaken.

Across Atasen, a handful of young adults—strangers to one another—begin to experience unexplained phenomena: flames that answer their emotions, shadows that move on command, wounds that heal too quickly, dreams that feel like memories. Each of them receives a mysterious letter, left silently on their doorstep, bearing the same sigil and a set of coordinates leading to a forgotten place beyond the known maps.

When they arrive, they discover they are not alone—and not ordinary. Guided by a member of the Nymph family and a magical trainer, they learn the truth of their ancestry and the pact that bound their powers. Their meeting place becomes the beginning of their training, where they struggle to awaken abilities that have been suppressed for centuries, all while learning to trust one another despite clashing personalities and fears.

As their powers grow, so does the danger. Signs emerge that Maloria has returned, sustained by dark magic and centuries of preparation. She has been quietly hunting the descendants, draining weakened bloodlines to restore her own strength. The group realizes that their awakening may have alerted her to their existence.

Their journey takes them through enchanted forests that shift with thought, hidden realms frozen in time, ruined temples of the old families, and hostile territories where magic is feared and punished. Along the way, they face trials designed by their ancestors—tests of loyalty, sacrifice, and self-control—forcing each character to confront not only external threats but their own doubts about destiny and choice.

As Maloria’s influence spreads and Atasen teeters on the edge of awakening to magic once more, the group must decide whether to simply survive—or to restore the legacy of the seven families and risk plunging the world into a new age of magic and war.

The final question looms over them all:
Was the pact meant to protect the world from Maloria… or to protect the world from the power of the seven families themselves?

2.) Semi-literacy is a requirement to join this roleplay. Proper grammar shouldn't be a problem. I understand a misspelled word once every so often, but your work should be readable.

3.) Please be able to write at least two decent-sized paragraphs per post. There isn't a set word count preference, but I would love responses to be 200+ words

4.) This RP is LGBTQ+ friendly

5.) Only 1-2 characters per species

6.) No OP, Mary/Gary Sues, Weeping Willows, etc. Your characters aren't perfect and should all be different! Have fun making them!

7.) Your characters' appearances and personalities aren't too strict as long as they fit with their species, it’s fine!

8.) Please don't be rude to anyone in or outside of this roleplay

9.) Put your favorite holiday in other if you read all of the rules

10.) While violence and more mature themes may be mentioned in this roleplay, please fade anything too graphic or riske into black.

She stands at 5'9, bright vibrant green eyes, and deep raven hair pair with her golden fair skin. She has feature indicative of southern Italian ancestory, her house rounded, skin pristine. She holds very faint freckles on the very corners of her cheeks. Althoguh 28, she holds very little wrinkles or signs of aging, physically appearing in her very early twenties.

- Verena's Appearance -

As a dragon she stands tall and elegant with attributes reminiscent of a snake. She holds dark obsidian scales and her signature emerald eyes. Her face is vaguely alligator like with jagged teeth and a smaller more Komodo related snout. Her wings are large and faintly iridescent, large enough to cocoon herself similarly to a bat. Her tail and thick and jagged, again like an alligator.

Personality

Elia is a charismatic young lady who thrives amongst the buisness world. Her intelligence matches her elegance in her conversations. Although a bit bold for some, she openly expresses her opinions and theories on certain things, her charm bright and inviting. Whilst not exactly the most popular, she shines amongst the crowd for her inviting nature. After a certain amount of time however, she can become agitated and impatient with people who can't see her point of view or thought process. She lacks patience for certain things and people, making her a bit of a double edged sword.

While not entirely alone family or friend wise, she does choose her academics over most things. She a proper lady appearance wise and does what she can to keep her image pristine and relevant. Her inability to use strength based weaponry is quickly overturned by her use of speed and agility. While she may not be able to hold on long, she is one to be persistent despite failure.

She's not one to be discreet sadly. When she's within the vacinity it's quite hard to miss her. While she is a lovely young lady, many instances follow her. Luck in avoiding mishaps, bars going from grumbling gentleman to lovely shouts and songs, merchants causing ruckuses after being outed as gougers, and even the occasional shouting match. While it's mainly not too bad, there are downsides to drawing attention. She's infamously known among the streets for the mischief that finds her.

Fond of singing and music. Has a lovely voice and strong presence.

Elegant sword and rapier techniques powered by agility and speed.

She lacks patience and clenches her teeth in her irritability.

She seems to overthink situations, going from worst to best case scenarios within seconds in her own mind making her paranoid.

A stark contrast to her reputation amongst those who are wealthy and well learned, amongst the streets she is infamous for being troublesome.

She is a winter baby being born around New Years! As the eldest child of the Stark family, she's taken on the role as heir and runs the buisness side of things. Her family is known for producing weaponry, both ornamental and practical. As of late her family is retired in their vacation home far away, leaving her to her duties at home.

She is a small blonde haired girl with bright blue eyes, her hair tends to have blue streaks through it to resemble her dragon color. though in her dragon form she is a large blue dragon with a tail shaped like a dagger that can slice anything. In her humanoid form, she’s weak, not able to retain her balance in a fight or in general just walking. In her dragon form, she is the opposite. She’s strong and powerful. She tends to wear weapons on her at all times as she does not know if anyone would turn on her.

Personality:

She is friendly, but is quite shy with new people. She tends to hide away among crowds if only to avoid those who seek her out. Once you get to know her, she can become quite the chatterbox. She defends the people she loves and will do anything to make sure they’re okay.

Short Backstory.

Alyssa came from another den of dragon shifters, though she defected because the people there hated her for being shy. They did not like the way she looked and most certainly did not approve of her.

She’s an outcast really, but she tries to be the best as she can be if only it would grant her some friends, real friends. Not the fake one’s she once had.

Appearance:

Aeloria is average height for a woman standing at 5 feet and 4 inches and weighs roughly 120lbs. She is a well-built woman, and has a sloping hourglass figure, with a scrawny frame.

Her hair is long and a rich, dark brown that falls in messy waves down to her mid-back. She doesn’t like to spend much time dealing with her hair so she almost never has her hair down. She prefers to style it with a slick bun or a low ponytail to keep her hair out of her face. On occasion she’ll put it in a nice braid.

Aeloria has pale almost translucent looking skin. Some joke that if you hold a light up to her she glows. She has two large scars, one going from her shoulder to her elbow on her left arm and another going from the back of her upper right thigh to her knee. She has lots of freckles and moles spotted all over her body as well as more tiny scars from her many adventures.

She has an oval-shaped face with an angular jaw-line and high cheekbones. Her skin is almost flawless other than the many freckles that dot her slightly-upturned button nose and high cheeks. She has a few small scars near her hairline and on the side of her face from a variety of different things that have happened to her over the years though they’re hard to see unless you’re close to her. Her lips are on the fuller side with her top lip being a little bit smaller than her bottom lip. Her lips are naturally pale pink in color and very smooth. She has a very light scar on the left side of her bottom lip that came from playing outside as a kid. She has beautiful pale, grey-green upturned eyes. Aeloria’s eyes always have a shy, nervous look to them like she's expecting something bad to happen. She has long, dark, fluffy eyelashes that make her eyes appear bigger. She has dark, straight eyebrows that make her appear mean.

Personality:

At first glance, people would describe her as shy, awkward, or reserved. Aeloria is soft-voiced and always stands away from everyone trying not to draw attention to herself. She isn't much of a talker when you first meet her and it takes a while for her to warm up to others. She is the definition of cold towards most people, especially when she just meets them. She would much rather keep to herself and tries to avoid people at all costs. When she does talk, her words come out gently and sometimes awkwardly, as if she’s afraid of taking up too much space—but there’s a sincere warmth behind everything she says.

Emotion flows through Aeloria easily, sometimes too easily. She feels joy, sorrow, and empathy with an intensity that can overwhelm her, and her banshee wail is closely tied to her emotions rather than anger or malice. Tears come quickly, but so do smiles, and she is deeply affected by the moods of those around her. Despite her sensitivity, she is genuinely friendly and kind, always ready to offer comfort or quiet companionship. Aeloria may be fragile at first glance, but her emotional depth gives her a rare understanding of others, making her someone who listens with her whole heart—even when she struggles to find the right words herself.

She is quite independent and normally prefers doing tasks by herself for multiple reasons including; she likes the satisfaction she feels when she does something without others help, she likes to prove she can do things on her own and most of all she hates asking for help. Aeloria is extremely impatient which isn't that surprising seeing as how independent she is. She hates when people take forever to do something because she likes to get things done as soon as possible.
