Halcyon said: Character Name: Daeva Player Name (optional): Halcyon Chosen Role (Rank): Beta Hybrid Species: Canine - Fox Preferred Pronouns: She/Her Character Description: Daeva stands at a small 5'3, with a petite but somewhat fit build. Her body is lithe and agile, with long slender limbs that move with a graceful, almost feline fluidity. She has a orange and long fluffy tail that almost kind of drags the ground when she walks. Her tail flicks and sways with her every move. Her golden eyes are sharp and intelligent and tend to have a slight glow. Daeva has larger ears that have a sharp point towards the tip, which twitch slightly as she picks up the faintest sounds. Her face is strong but narrow, capturing the resemblance of whom she was mutated from. She also has long, soft orange hair that stops right before her waist. Daeva has a cute little button nose that have a few freckles scattered across it. Her teeth are sharp and pointy as well, hinting at a more carnivorous diet. Her outfit is simple and practical, designed for movement and stealth. She wears a shirt which is a finely woven blend of linen and hem, and is dyed a forest green. Her pants are made of a durable and flexible material, likely a combination between wool and cotton. They are a light brown color which fit snugly on her thing legs. Her boots are perhaps the most interesting. They are crafted from a fine leather, reaching up just below her knee. They include mulitple layers of stitched leather in the middle of the boot, allowing for extra protection and comfort. Finally, around her neck is a simple necklace made of a single strand of river stones. Personality: Daeva is naturally curious and empathetic, always eager to learn and undertsand the world around her. She tends to be fiercely loyal and deeply protective of the things she cares about. While she's generally kind and compassionate, she can also be independent and stubborn, especially when she feels like she is being undermined. She's wary of authority and tends to question a lot. Despite the challenges that she faces everyday, she chooses to remain optimistic for the future. Backstory Summary: Daeva was born in a secluded village where she was surrounded by the rest of her family. She had always felt a deep connection to nature. From a young age, she spent her days exploring the woods, and learning about everything she could. One particular day, she set out in hopes to explore more deeply and further away from her village. She doesn't remember much, except finding herself an institution. Daeva is unawre of the certain number of days that has passed since she's been here, but it's been years and they have practically raised her. Now at the institute, she is driven and determined to master her abilities. Powers and Abilities: • Enhanced Sences: Heighted senses of smell, hearing, and sight. • Claw Manifestation: The ability to manifest sharp claws from her fingertips, provding her with a natural weapon. • Heighten Intuition: An innate sense of danger, able to partially predict an individual's next move. • Burrowing: She is able to quickly dig underground if necessary, where she could create tunnels and hiding places. Love Interest(s): None currently, but open. Additional Notes: - Protective over her belongings. - Has a deep respect for nature and misses when she used to be free. - She is a skilled strategist and tactician, able to quickly assess situations and develope effective plans.

Thanks for submitting Vern! The character looks good, and the Reject role is perfectly fine. No changes needed. Welcome aboard!

Character Name: Null - “04” Player Name (optional): Wolf’s Bane Chosen Role (Rank): Beta Hybrid Species: Aquatic - Atlantic sea nettle (Chrysaora quiquecirrha) Preferred Pronouns: She/her Personality: Upon first glance, one would assume that Null is merely bored, but “boredom” doesn’t capture the full and absolute monotony she embodies. She still retains some reminiscence of the child she might have been, but much of it has faded into obscurity, replaced by emptiness. Oftentimes, she finds herself completely unmoving, letting the flow of the water in her cell take her where it wishes. To her, life has no inherent meaning - to live is to wait for death, because what else is there left for her? She was willed into existence by some higher authority, and she waits for it to let her out of life. Her sense of time and emotions have long since been whittled away by waiting… waiting… waiting. Every so often - she doesn’t know how often - a researcher or two checks on her, declares nothing new about her condition, takes some notes, and leave. Perhaps they inject her with something new, but no longer does change mean anything to her. Perhaps they drag her out of the cell, run a few tests, then wipe her memory and leave her again in her familiar corner. The cycle repeats endlessly… …until the brewing resistance awakes her from her conscious slumber. Appearance: Null appears to be younger than she actually is - an adolescent at best, according to the assumptions of most who first look at her, but the utter emptiness in her pupil-less eyes of light gray void hint at her being older. She stands at a medium height of 5’4, and she is noted to be particularly flexible, though her bones are weakening as experiments continue. Her skin is oddly smooth despite being submerged in water for extensive periods of time. Her hands have become slightly more flexible and transparent as a result of mutations, and her fingers gradually seem to be more and more closely resembling odd, wavy appendates or small tentacles, though so far they are still recognizably humanoid. Her most defining feature is, perhaps, her hair. The actual hair is an almost-translucent white fading to a softly vibrant orange at the tips, gently curled into a vague bob, with the bangs flowing in the opposite direction of the hair on the side and the back. The false “hair” is the result of her mutation - tentacles extend from beneath her bob, attaching to her around the nape. Notably, there are at least a dozen thin, semi-transparent offwhite tentacles, and a few thicker, ribbonlike tentacles. Null has full control over each individual tentacle, though she prefers to use the thick ones. Her sting is moderate to severe, but not capable of killing a human. When switching on her bioluminescence, all of the tentacles and her more unstable half-transparent fingers light up. As a result of her consistent ability to use her bioluminescence, her general lack of instability in her mutations, her obedience, and her considerably potent venom, Null is considered to be one of the more valuable subjects of the Institute. Abilities/Strengths: -
Bioluminescence. Although sea nettles (especially Atlantic sea nettles) aren’t well known for being bioluminescent, researchers… may have gotten a little curious when experimenting on her, successfully resulting in the ability to light up certain parts of her body. -
Underwater breathing. Null somewhat relies on cutaneous respiration, which allows her to directly separate oxygen from water through her skin rather than relying on her lungs underwater. -
Venomous tentacles. Though not deadly (unless by allergic reaction), Null’s tentacles are capable of bringing victims noticeable discomfort, often leaving burning pain, red welts, itching, and/or tracks. She has an astounding amount of control over each tentacle. Weaknesses: -
Physical weakness. The mutations have caused her skeletal structure to somewhat weaken. -
Reliance on moisture/limited mobility. Though Null can breathe out of water, she still needs frequent hydration and can’t be in exceptionally dry environments for long. -
Reliance on salinity. Null must keep her salinity levels stable, and will often consume salt in order to do so. Backstory Summary: Like most other subjects, Null fails to remember much about her origins. She occasionally has flashbacks of sitting on a pier by a river, or a few dreams about helplessly being sucked underwater, or a sudden recollection or two of being pulled out of a strong current by unknown hands… but she dismisses them as figments of her imagination or mere delusions. Relationships: - Mila acts somewhat as a Null's introduction into social dynamics. She doesn't overwhelm her - Null is able to remain in Mila's presence with just her silence, and, for the first time, Null herself feels... acknowledged? Seen? Being with Mila stirs a strange, warm feeling that the cold, unempathetic researchers can't give her. Additional Notes: Null’s cell is mostly filled with moderately warm water between 20-29 ppt, though there is a section at the top that isn’t (though it is still relatively damp). As Null continues to mutate, the following physical changes will most likely occur: -
Increase in control/brightness of bioluminescence -
Increase in reliance on larger tentacles (especially given the weakening of her arms) -
Increase in potency of tentacle venom (and, as a result, increase in degree of symptoms experienced after stinging) -
Jellylike appendages developing or gradually replacing limbs -
Increased adaptation to low-light conditions (night vision) -
Decrease in strength of skeletal structure -
Increase in reliance on aquatic environment Edited at June 6, 2025 11:50 AM by Wolf's Bane

Null “04” is accepted 💙 She’s got such a quietly haunting presence—it’s like she carries the stillness of deep water with her. The Atlantic sea nettle concept is beautiful and unique, and we’re really looking forward to seeing how she interacts with others. There’s something really captivating about how she seems distant, yet not quite empty. She’s the kind of character who lingers in your thoughts. Can’t wait to see her story unfold.
