Roy eyed the girl coldly. No, he isn't going to give that effort being friends now. Roy calmed himself and started, "Sorry, I must've a slip of tongue, but I don't understand what you are trying to tell me. You could've got the wrong person." he breathed in deeply before continuing, "Or if I had really said that, I may be too young to say things like that. It had been years ago, I can't remember it now. Please don't take things to heart. You're just coming to stay, I don't want to get influenced by you. I hope you get what I meant."
Roy stood up and turned to the door immediatly. He didn't want an answer, or even a nod, he can't bear talking to a girl like this, but he had said it in a nicest way he could.

Back in his room, he layed on the bed thinking. Roy thought of the events that happened yesterday, he thought of his first glance of her, as a beautiful graceful elegant white peacock. Roy shook his head fiercly trying to get rid of the thought. We've met!?!! That's not the first glance I had for her. So what if I remembered? Is she going to get over me and make me fall for her? Ugh. She's pretty I know, she's smart I know, she's all a boy would wish for, I know. But why would I had to fall for her?

(Let's say this, the girl's gonna move forward and the boy's gonna fall for her slowly, then it's the girl's turn to ignore him. They'll unite together after a while hopefully :)

Ros stared at Roy's retreating back. She was surprised by his reaction, but she wasn't too mad. She knew it was a little soon. I'll take it slow. See how things go between us. Ros slowly went down the stairs, pondering what Roy had said.

When Ros got to the kitchen, she spoke to Mrs. Emma. "Can I go to the mall?" She asked politely, then continued. "I forgot to pack some of my stuff." Mrs. Emma looked at her. "Do you need any money?" Ros had her credit card so she was fine on money. "No, I've got some." She answered politely. "That's fine with me, do you want Roy to go with you?" Ros smiled. "I think he'd rather stay home." She said as she walked out the door.

Ros got to the cosmetics store and bought some hairspray, hair ties, a headband, and some face wash. After buying her stuff she walked home.

"Roy."
"Roy?"
"Roy! I've been calling your name for three times! Answer me!"
Roy was suddenly awake by his mother's call. He shook his head and felt dizzy from lying on the bed too long. "Mum! You scared me!" he shouted through the door. He walk dizzly to reach the door nob and opened the door. His mother was standing outside with a spatula on one hand and a frying pan on the other. "Mum....Um..Mum" He was afraid of the frying pan.. "Go out with Ros everytime she goes out. It's dangerous for a girl to go alone." Mrs Emma ordered. "Fine." Roy answered shortly. "But I haven't signed up to entertain her!" he mumbled. "What did you say?" his mum ask annoyingly. Roy give an annoyed shrugged and answered, "I said fine! Yes, I'm going!" "Good." Mrs Emma went back down to the kitchen, Roy let out a sigh and went down the stairs.

On the way back home Ros ran into Roy. "What are you doing here?! Did your mom send you to go with me?" Ros inquired with one eyebrow raised. "Yeah, she did." Roy said, dismally. "I don't need your protection. In case you didn't realize that from the train." She chuckled. Her smile was white and happy, the kind of smile a queen would have. Ros walked on, gracefully swing her arms, which had heavy grocery bags in them. "What all did you buy?" Roy asked, surprised at the amount of stuff packed into the plastic bags. "Just some cosmetic stuff. Then a bunch of snacks to get me through the next few months."

The two arrived at home just as the clock struck 2:00. "Did you buy the whole store?" Mrs. Emma joked. Ros smiled a bit and went up to her room to put her stuff away. "I know that it's a bit short notice to have Ros staying here, but do try to get to know her." Mrs. Emma Whispered to Roy. Roy sighed and watched as Ros came back down the stairs carrying a jar of pickles. "Nobody eat my pickles!" She said as she placed them in the fridge.

Roy rolled his eyes by the sight of the pickled. Pickles! Ugh.. Who eats it? Roy turned to Ros and asked, "You eat pickles? What's so special about them?" Ros seemed to have shrugged a little. She smiled and exclaimed, "Who doesn't eat them?" "But you really don't look as if you eat snacks?"Roy asked, confused. He eyed her figure, no? she looked as if she only eat salad every day!

But before hearing the girl's answer, Roy had already rushed up the stairs back to his room. Ros stared at him while she heard Mrs Emma talking to her from her back, "So sorry, he can't seem to stand the sight of pickles, you know..? Ah, of course you don't know." Mrs Emma smiled and patted her shoulder. "It's okay." said Ros, "Do you want me to keep the pickles elsewhere?" she continued. "It's fine, go take a rest now. The sitting room's usually quiet, you could lie around there." Mrs Emma eased her.

Ros looked at Mrs. Emma. "Okay." Ros said opening a game on her phone. "It's kinda weird not having any chores to do. At the farm we always had to feed the pig, or milk the cow, or call the dogs to bring the sheep in from pasture. I had a dog named Griffin at the farm, she was much sweeter than the other sheep dogs. She never wanted to leave my side until I made her go to work attending the sheep. I used to sneak her into the house at night so she could sleep in my bed." Ros smiled sadly then continued. "One time there was a lamb that didn't want to go out to pasture with his mother, and Griffin picked it up by the scruff of his neck and carried him up the big grassy hill to the pasture. I miss the farm at times but I'm glad I'm here. Are you sure there aren't any other chores that need done?" She said, looking a bit desperate for something to do.

Roy had put on a clean set of clothes and headed downstairs. "Mum, I'm going out." he said.
"Where are you going?" Mrs Emma asked.
Roy reached for his handphone and keys before answering, "To the mall for school clothes." Mrs Emma nudged Ros's arm and said, "Take Rose with you then."
Roy sighed calmly and glanced at the girl. "Go get your handbag then." Roy said softly. Mrs Emma gave Roy an approved smile before turning to the kitchen.
Roy turned on his phone and checked the time for the public transport. Uh-uh there's not one going our way during this time.. "We'll have to walk then." he said as he saw Ros coming outside.

"You could've said no to me coming. I wouldn't have protessted. But I'm glad you let me come. Beats sitting around. Oh, and as to your question earlier, I do eat snacks, quite often. I just seem to get slimmer instead of fatter." Ros said as she double checked that she had her phone and wallett. "I just realised that I don't know anything about you. Have you ever had a pet before? I really am sorry if I talk to much. I usually talk to the sheep and dogs during the day." She said, but then tripped on a crack in the concrete. "I'm so stupid." She said, her cheeks blushing. Why can't I ever just learn to be normal! Now Roy is going to want to be my friend even less. Who would want to be friends with a clumsy girl who can't keep her mouth shut! Ros kept her head down, not wanting Roy to see the tears of embarrassment welling up.

Roy took a deep breath and made a U-turn to look at Ros. They stopped their steps and look into each other's eyes. Roy let himself think properly while allowing Ros to take a good look at him.
"You know what?" he started and paused for a second. Roy took one more step upfront to get a closer look at the girl. Roy, was already 6 feet tall and had to lower himself to get to the same height as the girl. She seemed shy..
Roy continued, "I guess you're a good girl. You could talk to me however you want, but just not to other people, they won't like it, but I do." he smiled a little when he saw Ros not looking at him. "Just don't be shy." he added softly.

Roy couldn't imagine that his heart would be thumping so fast. He isn't going to fall for anyone, he isn't getting worked up. But why does his heart beat so fast?

Ros looked away. "That's exactly why I'm embarrassed. Other people won't like me. You have to because your mom will make you be friends with me. It was probably a mistake to come here anyway. I'm just a clumsy farm girl that doesn't know anything. I shouldn't be pursuing a better education. I'm not even smart enough to stop talking." She said as two tears rolled down her cheeks. "I'm just a cry baby too." She sniffed as she wiped them away. Her voice cracked a bit as she said, "We should get going. You need your stuff." She said, trying to continue walking. Roy grabbed her shoulders and stopped her.
