"Well then, what healing herbs do you know of?" Desolate turned to look at Black Cherry.

Ashka saw a fox den a few feet away from where she lay in the sand. She looked down at her leg pressing it with her nose. There was no broken bone, just a small sprain where she had landed on her ankle. She grunted, limping towards the fox den. Ashka poked her grey head into the den, her tail lashing when she saw three wolves in the den. A low growl emitted from her throat, This is my den, whether they like it or not. She limped inside the den, still growling at the wolves.

"Well, marigold can help with infections-" Black Cherry started to say, but was interrupted by a grey wolf suddenly poking her head into the den, growling. What the-? Black Cherry scrambled to her paws, hackles raised.

Desolate froze, as if not moving would make the new wolf dissipear. His fur stood on end, his ear laid flat against his skull and tail tucking under him as he stood shakily, leaning against the den wall. His eyes were wide and terrified at the sudden apearance. He opened his mouth to speak, but nothing came out. Desolate acted on pure instincts, formed by years of fleeing almost every wolf he encountered. His legs trembled, then bolted for the exit and out into open grassland. He had only gotten a few tail lengths from the mouth of the den when pain shot through his paws and sides, forcing him to crash down onto the ground. He lay on his side, winded, and completely vulnerable. He tried to stand after a moment, but the searing pain returned in an instant. The pale furred wolf collapsed again, eyes wild and unfocused. His breathing started to get shallow and shakey, and he started to loose the ability to think straight. His ears began to ring like when Chaos had shown up. "Desolate!" Black cherry gasped as she saw the desert wolf fall. She saw him try to stand up, only to collapse again. What do I do?! She thought, panicked. What if this wolf attacks him? Am I in the shape to fight back? She looked at the gray wolf again, wondering if she could fight her. There's no time for that! A voice in her head screamed. Help Desolate! No! Another said. Fight the strange wolf! Black Cherry looked at Desolate lying on the ground to the other wolf again. I..I don't know what to do!

Ashka looked at the pale-furred wolf, crumpled on the ground. Then back at her own paws, then at the wolf in front of her. Never attack those who flee. Vlad's words rang in her ears, her trainer. She thought about the black wolf, now dead. Ashka stopped her snarl, and dipped her head. "I promise not to attack, if you let me stay here" Ashka woofed in her heavy Russian accent. "I can help your friend"

Black Cherry tilted her head to the side, considering this. "...All right." She replied. "You said you could help Desolate...? How?" Black Cherry looked back over at the pale wolf, lying on the ground.

Sunset Shadow kept her eyes on the stranger - her fight or flight trying to kick in.

Ashka rumbled in her low Russian accent "Cacti," She said, tail swishing side to side. "The cacti's poultice helps very well with wounds, and the wood makes a nice splint." Desolate. Ashka assumed that was his name. She walked over to where Desolate lay, and she helped him walk back to the den.
