The wolves of Faraway Mars are descendants of a much powerful pack, a pack that was home to both mortals and gods. The pack was called “Iced-Over Sun”, supposedly named after one of its leaders; “Ember over snow”.

Iced-Over Sun wasn’t always respected, liked or feared.It was formed by two loners, outcasts, exiles. Ember over snow(Ember) and Firefly’s glow(Firefly). Although they were the leaders of Iced-Over Sun, Ember and Firefly were not mates; they were simply friends who wanted to be a part of something greater, knowing no pack would accept them as they are. The two travelled the forests for very long, searching for wolves to welcome into their pack, eventually they found some who were willing to join. Sand covered pelt(Sandy), Oak tree (Oak), Speedy winds (Speedy), Autumn’s falling leaves(Autumn), Stone on the river(Stone) and Key to the lock (Key). Ember and Sandy became mates while Firefly became mates with Stone.

Their pack kept growing, from outcasted wolves looking for a new pack to call home to pups being born, some of which were Ember and Firefly’s.

Ember had 2 litters with Sandy, the pups from the first litter being named Blaze which burns(Blaze) and Spark of light(Sparky). Her second was a litter of three; Rosemary’s scent(Rosemary), Robin’s fallen feather(Robin) and Brook where fish swim(Brook). They were named after her siblings whom she hadn’t seen in years.

Firefly on the other hand had only one litter, mostly because she felt it was her job to. Her pups were named; Spike in the ravine(Spike) and Marbled quartz(Marble).

Ember’s mate eventually passed and Firefly left her mate to be with Ember; they adopted a pup together named “Dew on leaves” they were a happy family.

Over the years they’d make great allies, ones whom people refused to believe existed. They had befriended the gods they’d been worshipping and praying to.

The first they befriended was named Viking, the god of transformation and death.

At first they feared him, afraid he’d use his abilities to harm the pack but he never did; he vowed to protect the pack. He even found himself a mortal mate within the pack.

The next god they befriended was Whispering, goddess of honesty and life.

Whispering and Viking would gift some of the fallen wolves of Iced-Over Sun the life of a god, changing their names and appearances once they gained their powers.

Iris, god of time and visions.

Duri, goddess of the undead(not death)

Uno, goddess of platonic and familial love

Faerie, goddess of trickery

Trot, goddess of love and fertility

Moire, god of shadows and fear

Amongst the many that were gifted their powers there were some born with them.

Mural, demigod of art and beauty, often mistaken as a goddess.

Canine, demigod of animals and nature, sometimes referred to as father nature.

Clarity, demigoddess of peace, purity and harmony

They were born to Viking and a mortal named Redwood.

Bluemoon, demigod of the moon

He was born to Uno and an unnamed mortal.

Daisy, demigoddess of the sun and light.

Mossy, demigoddess of health and healing.

They were born to Iris and his mortal mate: Blue.

Crash, god of speed

Dire, god of war and strategies

They were born to Duri and Viking

With all this power within their pack they were unstoppable.

Now, how did Faraway Mars come to be? Well, Ember’s great-granddaughter: "Darling in the sun" was identical to her and since Ember had passed others looked at her as a replacement. She didn’t want to be looked at as just Ember number 2 so she left, not saying goodbye to anyone, not even her littermates or parents.

She traveled the forest for a few days before running into the wolf who she’d start her new life with. He introduced himself as “Vulture’s feather”, he was exiled from his old pack but refused to tell her why. She thought he was cute and he was charming so she brushed it off. They found a place to call their home and it wasn’t too far from where her old pack resided.

Darlin’ and Vulture got very close during their time together, becoming mates.

Darlin’ wanted their pack to grow but Vulture disagreed, he wanted Darlin’ to himself and having others in their pack would take her away from him, right?

Despite everything Darlin’ managed to convince Vulture to let a wolf named "Calypso’s song" into their pack. After that it seemed to be easier for the wolves to live and Vulture actually let others join; including a wolf named "Tigress’s Fang."

They still worship the gods from Iced-Over Sun due to the fact Darlin’ couldn’t part from it, that was a part of her she knew she could never get rid of.
