~The Great Disaster~
The Queen of The Night Pack has been around so much longer than this insignificant group of wolves. Once, it was massive, great, and renown; Known for the power they held over the mountains where they lived.
And then Hare came into power, much as his father had, and his grandfather before him, and so on. He snapped and snarled and demanded, intruding on the the land of cougars where he demanded territory they did not need. It was through his own foolishness, starting a war he could never possibly win, that most of his packmates fell. And yet...he still had s way of twisting the events. Convincing those who survived there was nothing he could have done to prevent such a tragedy.
And now, with only himself, his mate, and a few other wolves to speak of, they start anew...
~Ranks~
Alphas
A mated pair who lead the pack, there are usually two at any given time; However, there have been known instances where there are more than just two.
Heir
The oldest living pup of the current alphas and the one destined to take the throne, the heir is taught from a young age how to lead. If the heir is a pup, they are taken on every exploring party to best learn their surroundings and pack.
Adviser
In cases where the alphas may be wrong in their decisions, it is the adviser's duty to say something and help lead them on the right path. They are the right-hand-man of the alphas and are usually involved in important discussions.
Captain
The first in row in every battle and the one to command the soldiers, the captain will always be the pack's number one defender. When a captain retires, they choose which of the soldiers would take their place; But if they die unexpectedly instead, the alphas makes this decision.
Soldiers
The fighters and defenders of the pack, they follow their captain's orders loyally and without fail- as those who disobey rarely keep their positions for long. After the captain, they are the next in line for battle.
Hunters
The wolves who provide the pack with food, they typically are fast and clever, hunting down deer and elk in large groups to bring back to their pack.
Herbalists
The healers of the pack, they are responsible for gathering herbs and mixing medical remedies. They rarely leave base, staying nearby in case any wolf needs their care.
Pups
All wolves under two years old are considered pups. They are made to stay in base unless leaving with an exploring party, due to the fact that they are considered too young to safely explore alone. Pups may start being trained at a year old.
Elders
Those who are elderly and have long done their part for the pack, they are the ones who have retired from their duties. They usually do not leave base without an escort, but this is not a set rule.
