☾𖤓Home.
It’s a place most people consider a safe space, where you rest your head at night, have a fridge full of food to eat whenever you get hungry. Where you can spend hours watching TV or reading books about sparkling vampires. Home is comfort. Home is what every human dreams of. To the bloodline of the Comet, though, this is confinement in a zoo.
Nestled off the coast of Brindleton bay, lays Wooddell island. The one true home, where the bloodline of the Comet can run wild for months, just as their ancestors once did, unleashing the beast they keep confined in the human world. This is also where they preserve their traditions from before the comet, forever known as the Splitting Star. Passed down from generation to generation, the story of their origin is told to all the young wolves sharing their blood roughly every six years, to remind them of the great star for which they thank for their abilities.
☾𖤓The Splitting Star.
A bright blue and orange streaked comet that crosses the orbit between the planet and the moon every seventy or so years. To the wolves of the Comet, though, it started as a thing of terror instead of an event to be revered for generations to come. When it passed over the island, a small piece splintered off and impacted the center of the island, causing tremors, cave collapses and land slides that lasted for days.
All the creatures on the island were affected by the event, but especially so, the island's resident wolves. The first change came hours after. It was a painful experience, their bones forcibly broken, cracked and reformed by powers outside their comprehension. Within a couple hours, they began to resemble the few groups of men that inhibited on their island.
It took hundreds of years of battles waged, peace treaties made, broken and reforged over and over again, but the former wolves of the island eventually earned their spot in the society and town that quickly grew around them. It would not be found out until several generations later, but the wolves of the wooddell bloodline were not the only ones affected.
☾𖤓The Wolves of Brindleton Bay.
Over the last 500 years the Wooddell pack has continue to grow and expand, becoming one of the most notable socialite families in Brindleton Bay. George Wooddell, is credited with putting the family in the eyes of the public when in the 1800s he opened the only weapons manufactor around, becoming a steady source of arms for the local military.
Most notably, they were the first in their region to produce silver bullets. Back in those days, Brindle Bay was a very superstitous town and it was believed a Woodell silver bullet had the ability to kill many supernatural beasts.
Now in modern day though, most of the Woodell's factories have shut their doors and gone out of commission, though they still stand strongly as some of the most well known upperclass families in town. Their money is old, paving many of the streets and buildings around. It is hard to deny their influence and impact on the city that grew around the small island they once called home. However, without a steady income from their weapons manufactoring, whispers around town have started, spectulating on how the family has managed to stay afloat over the last fifty years, especially with the rise of the local mafia. Maybe their deals done behind closed doors weren't as hidden to the public as they had thought..
