I don't think when someone says something genuinely stupid that counts as gen z stare, because anyone would react that way lol. An example I've seen is like when a barista asks what they want to order and they just stare because they 1) haven't decided or 2) are trying to process the question

I'm older Gen Z, and definitely understand staring due to confusion & then asking a clarifying question, but I've never just stared at somebody for saying "Hi" or "Excuse me ma'am."

Apparently older gens think thank Gen Z has a "lead stare" like the Boomers do, Gen Z says they stare at people because they say ridiculous things & have to stare in order to keep their mouth shut.
