I'm with @Dire on this one. Put them in a well secluded area and hide any trace that they live there. Or, better yet, have a friend rush over and collect them while the landlord does the inspection. If you can't get rid of the associated items, say that you're just holding equipment while a friend gets ready to pick up the respective animals. :p
