Biography Merik produced Wolfplay's first ever litter of Platinum Base Coated wolves
Way outside of pack grounds, where the grass never grows; where the wind smells slow and sour when it blows and no birds ever sing, excepting old crows, is the place in which Merik resides.
Merik crouched low and pounced; successfully killing the fifth field mouse. Three for Mocha and two for himself. It wasn't exactly a sufficient meal; he was going to have to do much better than a measly meal of five. Merik supposed he couldn't complain because he had bought this on himself; but Mocha! What was she going to do if he couldn't provide enough sustenance for her? And their pups! Merik shook his head; he was determined not to let them starve and so he carried on. Merik buried the mice and traipsed further away from the den in the hopes of having his luck turn around-and it did. A plump hare sat just out of his reach, but Merik soon realised he was upwind of it. Merik scowled, but watched the hare still. Surely it would have scented him already? And it must've heard that scowl. Merik tilted his head; he didn't bother trying to hide himself now, but he still tread carefully and soon he was standing right above the rabbit. How odd...This hare was deaf and most certainly had no sense of smell. So what was it doing out here? Merik didn't think. He just killed.
Crunch.
Merik bit through it's skull and as he did so, the dart lodged itself into his hind leg. It was a tiny prick, barely more than an itch to a beast like Merik, even with his slight frame; but it contained a powerful tracker inside of it and Merik was now transmitting a pulsing blue light on a map that one of the members of conservation held as they slipped back to their jeep, undetected by Merik who was too caught up in the lucky find. The hare had been planted there, for they humans had been watching his progress over the past months.
Merik began his long trek home, the hare clamped tightly in his jaws; his appetite returning. He carried on past the buried mice-he couldn't fit then all in his jaw alongside the hare and headed for the den.
"Ivoundahare" he exclaimed and then realised he had sounded silly. Merik padded further into the den where he found one eye on him. He lowered his head and placed the hare in front of Mocha who was resting on her side, suckling their litter. "I mean, I found a hare..." He grinned. "I have to double back and pick up the field mice. I'll see you shortly." Merik licked her forehead and quietly left the den before taking off like a rocket, eager to retrieve his mice and return to the den. He found the spot, marked by his scent and uncovered them, scooping the little bundles into his mouth before he as headed back to the den.
Merik greeted Mocha by rubbing his large head against hers before he sat down and crunched away at the bony little mice. "That hare's for you. You're going to need it if you want to keep nourishing our pups...Go on. Don't feel bad. I'm content with a little meal." Merik watched her eat, making sure that she actually ate and when he was satisfied she was eating it, he lay down and kept watch. "Finish eating until you're full and try to get some rest, Mo..." He murmured. "I'll keep watch now." He said, unaware of the tracking device inside of him.
He perked up eventually-the sounds of voices alerted him, as did the sudden change in forest noises-it was quiet. Too quiet. Merik heard the voices again and sat up straighter, he glanced at Mocha, their pups nuzzling her while she slept. He wasn't going to investigate invade the voices found Mocha and his pups. Instead he waited, and he didn't have to wait for long.
"He's in the den. We'll trap him there." One said and Merik growled. He nudged Mocha, aware that the danger was far bigger than what he could have prepared for. A shadow came across the entrance and the a man crouched down. Merik snarled, his hackles raised and the man laughed. "Look at the wee boy. He's got his whole family here! It's alright boy, we're here to help you. We want to make sure you're safe." Merik scowled and lunged at the man. He didn't believe him, and as soon as he lunged, two men appeared form The side and slipped a leash pole around his neck. The pulled tight and managed to get Merik under control, despite his struggling until they darted him.
"Mocha...I'm sorry I couldn't protect you or our pups...I'm sorry for everything..." Merik mumbled out random bits of information as the tranquilliser began to hit; but he didn't see them take aim at Mocha.

| Personality Merik is quite easily pushed over by Ebony who blackmails him and uses the fact that he has killed for her to gain what she wants. He doesn't wish for word to get out about this and easily complies with her wishes. When Merik isn't around Ebony, he is usually off exploring new terrain alongside Mocha. During this time, Merik becomes quite protective of her and only allows her to go so far out of his reach before he becomes nervous of potentially hidden predators or other wolves thinking they can make short work of his precious Princess, Mocha.
Merik has, quite literally, a split personality. There are two Merik's, residing in one body. The gullible, naive Merik has fallen for Mocha and the ferocious, battle-loving Aristaios that lives inside of Merik's head has fallen for the charms of Nike.
Preferences Merik prefers to roam alongside Mocha, the gorgeous female with a pink nose that matches his. He loves her bubbly personality which is why he prefer her over Ebony. Merik is also coming to terms with Ebony's betrayal towards him and Mocha's meetings. The pair were barred from visiting one another due to the positions they held in the future for their packs but they continued to sneak out. Karangahake became upset about this because she thought she could trust him. She is usually a forgiving alpha, but this time she turned Merik out because she knew there would be backlash for the entire pack. Now it is just Merik, Mocha and their potential offspring. Merik prefers the quiet life anyway and has realised pack life wasn't for him.

Special Skills Merik is a shifter. He is one of three pack members that is able to shift but he keeps this hidden from the other two shifters. He doesn't want them knowing. For Mocha, Merik can either show himself as a wolf or cuddle her and tickle her under then chin in his human form. He is only able to shift in her presence because he truely loves her. Mocha has transformed his weak and gullible side into a wolf with strong mental abilities now that he was made to suffer after loosing her more than once to his inability to hold onto her with Ebony manipulating him. Ebony is dead now and Merik has finally managed to contact Mocha again after many lonely months with a torn heart. He is still gaining her trust now after his attempts to assassinate Mocha through Ebony's wishes.
For Nike, Merik is a minor God. He appears as Aristaios, the patron God of animal husbandry and bee keeping. This side of him is stronger and less prone to Ebony's attacks and blackmailing but he had not discovered this side of him until he confronted Nike one evening in the desert plains. He wishes to aid Nike in her struggles with Olympus but he has yet to gain her trust.
