Princess was the baby of her birth pack, that's why her name is Princess. But, when she was just a juvenile she wanted more excitement in her life. That's where Slate comes in. He found her walking around her pack's outskirts and asked her if she wanted to join him in his quest to start his own pack, of coarse the naive Princess said yes.

Princess prefers to be with her pack-mates than to be alone, this is because of her days in her birth pack, they never left her alone. She also prefers small game, rabbits, and squirrels than the bulky big game, it's more chewy to her.
