Biography Wildtail used to be a stray living among the other dogs on the streets. On her death bed his mother told him of his father and his many brothers and sisters. Blaze (Wildtail) mourned for his mother for many seasons. Blaze looked out beyond the garden fence often, but now that his mother was gone he had no reason to stay. He leaped the fence and ran in-spite of his owners calling for him angrily. ' I'm going to find my father.' Blaze thought. After months of trudging through snow and running through blistering heat, he came upon a deep crevice. ' This won't stop me, i'll leap it. He took a couple steps back and then broke into a run and leaped onto the other side. " Hello? I-is someone there?" A muffled voice came from the crevice. " Yes, i'm here? Where are you?" Blaze looked around for the muffled voice's speaker. " Down here, I can't jump so well and i'm stuck." The voice said. Blaze took a look into the crevice and saw a cream speckled she-wolf staring back at him with hopeful eyes. " Try jumping, maybe I can reach you." Blaze bent down and craned his neck into the crevice. The she-wolf sprang up and he caught her by the scruff. He used all of his strength to pull her up onto the snow- covered ground. She stared at him with petrified blue-green eyes. Blaze noticed how skinny she was compared to him. " Thank you for saving me." The she-wolf stood taller to lick his cheek. Blaze winced unknowing what this wolf was doing. Blaze went into deep thought. 'Why did this dog smell so different?' He couldn't help liking her scent. It smelt of an herb that his human used. Her now soft and fluent voice cut off his thoughts. " I'm Hazelice by the way." ' Hazel! That is what she smells like!' Blaze thought. Hazelice looked back at him expectantly. Blaze panicked briefly before answering her. " Er umm, my name is Blaze." He stuttered. Suddenly the she-wolf's eyes grew wide. " Your a dog?" She circled him sniffing. " But you smell like a wolf?" She looked at him confused. " I am half wolf, my mother was a dog." He lowered his head ashamed of his mixed heritage. She lowered her head close to his cheerfully. " That's not so bad." Blaze raised his head comforted by her words. He felt a pang in his chest, he had never felt this way before and was worried by it, but he hid his worry. " What are you doing so far out into the woods? Should you not be with your humans?" She asked looking around suspiciously. " No. I left them in search of my father. My mother passed and I felt no need to stay an be reminded of her." This memory sent a shiver down his spine, he longed for his mother's steady heart beat and silk-like voice. " Oh," The she-wolf avoided his gaze. They were both quiet for a moment, until Hazelice lifted her head with a returning grin. " Maybe you could join my pack?" She asked taking a step closer to him. " We always need more hunters." A hopeful look spread across her face, no doubt she was trying to hide it. He wondered if he looked the same. " I would love to join your pack." Blaze said. The she-wolf yowled excitedly. " Great!" She bounded ahead a little. " Follow me!" Hazelice took off running. Blaze followed quickly behind. He was amazed at this wolf's speed. 'She must be a good hunter.' He thought. She almost seemed to float, he paws making no sound against the slushy snow, her legs moving effortlessly. Suddenly Blaze scented wolves nearby. " Were almost there!" Hazelice shouted from up ahead. He hadn't noticed until now, but he was lagging behind. Hazelice stopped on the top of a hill. " This is the entrance." She said waiting for him. Blaze came slowing to a stop beside her, but she hopped down from the hill onto a solid sheet of ice. Blaze did the same, but by then Hazelice was already entering a large cave. As Blaze entered he saw wolves staring at him. " Come on, this way. They won't harm you without orders." Blaze looked closer at the wolves to see them growling and snarling. Just then he noticed a higher ledge up on the cave wall. He stopped beside Hazelice. A large lump sat up and became more visible. " This is the alpha male of our pack, Shadowstone." She said looking up at the great wolf. Shadowstone peered down at Blaze with disgust. " Hazelice, who is this." His voice was steady, but stern. Hazelice dropped her ears and tail to show Shadowstone was more dominant. " I fell into a crevice earlier this morning and he freed me." Hazelice shot Blaze a concerned look. " We were wondering what had become of you."
