Biography
Sworn knight and guardian of Elaena Morning, he was 3 years old when the Princess was born. She was vicious and radiant, while Castan was honorable and solemn. Castan was more of a vigilant and thoughtful guardian than a fighter. Castan's great-greatgrandmother Cassindra trained Elaena to succeed her as the greatest fighter of House Bron, while Castan's eyes scanned the horizon. Elaena would stride off the training grounds flashing Castan a proud smile that he subtly returned. Elaena eventually asked Castan to be her mate, uniting the bloodlines of Prince Cassimar and the Royal House descending from Sparrowdance. In Elaena's eyes, males, rather than females, were the naturally weaker sex, unless granted abilities by female bloodlines or training. She believed a child from Cassindra's bloodline would strengthen House Bron's royal line. Their daughter was Princess Cordelia Stellamaris, who would mate with Cal Kestis, another male descendant of Cassindra. Cal and Cordelia's daughter, Celestia, would be the mother of Elias Cypress. Elias mated with Princess Locklyn Eyre Kellen of Highborn Prince Justinian's line. Elias and Locklyn were the parents of Princess Justina Jace. As second in line to the throne, Elaena had permanently influenced how royal prodigy both trained and chose mates. Unions within House Bron were heavily encouraged, and the heirs and their mates were required to be the foremost fighters in the pack. Those that were not fighters in the pack were used for faints, sent to the frontlines to distract, divide, and mislead the enemy. Castan was the leader of these wolves. Meanwhile, Elaena and her fighters were responsible for confronting and killing enemies and prey. A random note is that Castan was the last of Cassindra's bloodline that carried her dark brown eyes directly. Aside from his uncle, Wynter River, no other wolves in the Bron lands had dark brown eyes. To date, Castan has also never been forced to kill an enemy or even prey--more a matter of luck than choice. Castan lost his mother, Cassie, and twin sister, Castalina, in a single blow when they caught a plague carried to the pack by an emissary.
