Biography
Forestwing looked out over the forest. He sighed sadly. His pups were all out there somewhere. Aislin, Forestfang, Sky, Darkest, Bella... He wasn't sure they knew he even existed. A female in his own pack had had Spot Heart's -Darkest's- pups, but Forestwing hadn't seen his son. Ever. He shook out his fur and trotted down, back to his den.
Closing his eyes, he dreamed that his pups were with him. He dreamed that they knew how much he loved them...
When he woke up he heard labored breathing. As the Alpha he had taken Rosesplash to be his bondmate. She was on her side, her fur in sticky clumps. Their pups were on the way.
He raced out of the alpha's den and sought out Dreamcatcher, the defected beta and healer. Explaining the situation, they loped back to the cave. The first pup was coming. Forestwing paced the outside of the den, wincing every time he heard a gasp or yelp from inside. After what seemed season-cycles, Dreamcatcher emerged.
"You have three pups," she congratulated him. "Two females and a male. They're all healthy."
He let out a huge sigh of relief and trotted in to see his bondmate and the new pups. As he entered, Rosesplash let out a happy yip. Three pups were curled up against her, suckling. Forestwing thought he could see his mother in every pup but one female, which looked more like her mother than her sire's.
"Beautiful," he whispered.
"Yes," Rosesplash agreed. "I thought the male's name would be Forestclaw, and the other female that looks like you is Splashwing. See, she has a spot there that looks like a bird wing."
"And the last female can be Rosewing!" Forestwing added excitedly. "Perfect!"
As he curled up to his family, he heard Rosesplash murmur, "Yes... perfect..."
Then they let night's blanket fall over them.
In he morning he found his mate dead and little Rosewing disappeared. He wailed and his wolves came running.
After they had buried his bondmate and set a marker for the pup, they did the Ghost Howl.

His father died when he was a pup. His mother never re-bondmated, instead having her son take their father's place. She taught him to be just, kind, and wise. After his mother and brother passed away, Rosesplash and Mistcloud became the alphas. Mistcloud died years later, and he and Rosesplash led the pack. They fell in love and had pups. He used the teachings of his mother to lead his pack.
