Forestpup was born to the oldest mother- Larkfeather- right before she died. Larkfeather's legacy lives on in her daughter...
Forestpaw raced Rubypaw up the slope, paws hitting the ground rhythmically. She paused at the top, letting the wind ruffle her fur even more than it already had, before leaping of the short cliff of the slope, landing, and skidding for a moment before leaping back up and running again. The pool was just up ahead... She could reach it... And just as she halted at the water's edge, she was pushed in.
Forestpaw picked up her head, treading water, and swam to face her friend.
"RUBYPAW!" she barked, scaring the gray juvenile out of her fur. "WATCH WHERE YOU PUSH! I AM YOIR FUTURE ALPHA!"
"AND IM THE HEAD PUP MOTHER!" Rubypaw shrieked back, making both apprentices laugh.
"Head back?" Rubypaw asked. Forestpaw got out of the water and shook the droplets onto her friend before scurrying off, Rubypaw hot on her heels.
