Biography Posala was not known to be observant nor smart nor knowing anything at all that could be intelligent in any way whatsoever; instead, she was bubbly, obliviously sweet, and clueless in the meaning of strength--but it was a mask, a facade, a lie. No idiot wolf would know how to stay away from those who would break her heart; no moron would know to ignore the mercilessness of the world; no fool would know that all those of blood tied to her family would succumb to lie upon lie upon lie. And perhaps it would work.
Posala learned the hard way.
She tried her best to be kind to her brother, for she saw his lonely desperation: she smiled at him and talked with him with her bell-like voice, but all his attention was on their mother (so much so that he seemed to forget he was not the only one that wanted love, to the point where he inflicted pain upon those who tried their best); she supported her sister, for she knew of the diligent yet utterly naive hope that their mother would treat them like as her progeny, but they never did grow close (perhaps due to how the other believed Posala was simply too stupid to understand.
But Posala understood. She understood many things. Yet she put up with it. Kept up her fake, fake walls. Never admitted to herself that she'd become as desperately lonely as her brother; as hopelessly naive as her sister.)
When Maska Muraco returned from his journey somewhere he'd be gone to for hours on end, she offered him her grins, her laughter, her jokes, pretend stupidity, and he'd just smirk in his condescending I-know-something-you-don't way and ignore her entirely. When she heard Taima Taini sob and weep when she thought no one could hear, Posala did her best to cheer her sister up by how her grins, laughter, jokes, pretend stupidity, and Taima Taini would lift her head up high in her pitiful attempt at being the domineering I-am-the-oldest-child-so-listen-to-me eldest child. When her mother sulked and moped and watched the sunset from the overlooking cliff, Posala visited with grinned, laughed, joked, pretended she was dumb, and Mother sneered and chased her off to the shadows in hopes of discarding the hunk of onyx fur (though Posala never could be rid of, her wretched coat being a stark black against even the shadows; she was a nuisance and a menace with how you could see her everywhere no matter what you did). And when Maska Muraco broke, Mother vanished, and Taima Taini shattered, Posala pretended to never notice.
Because Posala was bubbly, obliviously sweet, and clueless in the meaning of strength.
She wanted to feel something--anything--and let do whatever he so pleased with her a rouge male she came upon and whom likely done as mentioned to her sister mere hours before, judging by poor Taima's scent clinging to his fur. And when she became pregnant, birthed to a litter of three, she realized she had fallen so deep in her web of lies that she did not want anything to do with anyone's life ever again.
Posala was bubbly, obliviously sweet, and clueless in the meaning of strength. And perhaps, when Posala left and abandoned all she once held dear, her facade was both the truth and yet another lie.
