Al Azif is the original name of the Necronomicon in the Lovecraftian Mythos. It refers to "that nocturnal sound (made by insects) supposed to be the howling of demons" in fictionalized Arabic.

A charming conniver, a flippant swindler and a cheeky mischief maker, Al Azif isn't your typical Necromancer but don't let his clownish demeanor fool you; he is a talented death magician and learned his craft from none other than Beati Mortvi while Blitzkrieg took care of his battle training.
He joined the Elite after Silent Thunder's death without much effort - his mentors made sure he would get the spot. The young frivolous buck who up until then was the mere lover of Blitzkrieg became the Alpha Male, a position rarely achieved by Tricksters. After Beati Mortvi passed away, he seized the title of the Master of the Rite, hoarding even more power.
Though he quickly gained respect, Al Azif is a deceitful beast who enjoys both foolish, harmless pranks and causing all hell break loose; many in the Pack are reluctant to trust him. Of course his main hustle is cutting deals with the Dead and despite his ever whimsical nature, he takes his Ritemaster role seriously. The worst mistake one can make is to underestimate him; he's wiser and especially more cunning than his facade would let you believe.
Al Azif became the mightiest warrior of the realm after Blitzkrieg's death but he lost his Alpha Male position, as the reborn Eli-Elo became the new Leader.
