Biography The tiny pup slowly walked through the forest, leaves crunching beneath his paws. He whimpered quietly, trying to make out his surroundings. The world was dark to him. He had never before seen the snow, the autumn leaves, the blue sky. He was blind, with no home, no mother. Nikan slowly came to a stop, his stomach growling voraciously. He growled back, trying to make himself feel better. The little wolf collapsed in the leaves and rested, his paws sore from travel. After a quick nap, Nikan rose and began his journey again. Where he was going, or why, was unknown to him. He only knew that he should keep moving. A few minutes into his walk, Nikan yowled with pain as something sharp and jagged snapped over his paw. He struggled helplessly and howled, trying to make the pain go away. The jagged teeth dug deeper into his leg, forcing his leg to stay still. Nikan howled in pain, slumping over his trapped leg. The injury got worse as the teeth dug deeper into his paw. He could not escape this enemy, so he waited. Waited for days, unable to move and in constant pain, hoping someone would help him. Nikan let his body flop to the ground. He closed his eyes , maybe death wasn't so bad. It had to be better than this. His mind was desperate, yet helpless at the same time. He dearly wanted to escape but he was almost to weak to move. Giving up was sounding appealing now. Nikan lowered his head and let himself fall asleep. Almost not caring if he never woke up. Nikan heard something, faint, almost silent. It was the sound of a young boy. Nikan tried to get up, but found himself to weak. He whined as loud as he could but it was barely anything. Suddenly he felt the ground drop out from under him and soft blankets wrapping around his frail body. He whimpered slightly, afraid. He let the human carry him away, the teeth still hanging onto his paw. "Mama! I found a puppy! Its hurt, it got stuck in one of those chompy things that hunters use." The boy cried, breaking into a run. Nikan yelped, pain jolting through his leg. "Honey, that's a bear trap! Here, let me take it." Nikan heard a soft feminine voice, riddled with worry. A few moments later he felt himself being transferred between arms, suddenly in the woman's care. The rest was a blur, he was to weak to stay awake and Nikan lost consciousness. When he came to, a delicious smell filled his nose. He tried to lift his head, finding that the weight of the teeth were gone and his paw was wrapped in a weird fabric. Nikan whimpered and felt something run through the fur on his back. "It's okay, good boy. Dad will have you fixed up in no time and then we can play together." The voice belonging to the young boy said again. "I already have a name for you. Bandit." Nikan raised his head higher, taking a whiff of the delicious smell. It was similar to the pheasant he had found a few weeks ago, except better. He limped towards the smell, trying to figure out what it was. “Oh, you’re hungry.” The boy said with realization. He walked away, leaving Nikan whining in the living room. A few minutes later, the boy came with some of the meat in his hand. He slowly dropped the chicken in front of Nikan. The pup sniffed it curiously before snarfing it down. He yipped happily and sniffed around. His nose touched the boy’s greasy fingers and he licked them clean, the boy laughing. After a while, Nikan found himself right at home. He knew every corner of the household by memory. He had filled out and grown bigger but was still small for his age. The teen wolf ran to the door and pawed at it, waiting for his friend to open it. With a squeak, the doorknob turned and Nikan hopped outside. He grabbed his frisbee and flung it around violently. He heard the sound of the boy’s voice and came running over, abandoning his ruined frisbee. He sniffed the boy, using his nose to feel around. His paw had healed good as new. Nikan licked the boy and ran into the forest. He came back an hour later with a hare, half his size. The boy clapped cheerfully and took the hare in. It would be served for dinner that night. Dinner was Nikan’s favourite time of day. He always got a third of whatever he caught and a fifth of what they caught. Nikan sat by the door, panting happily while he daydreamed of dinner.
