Biography
Dud, they called him. Perhaps that was his name.

No, his name was Pup 34. But why were they calling him Dud if that wasn't his name? He looked different from his siblings, he knew, he was not as brightly marked as they were. But his immature pup's mind could not seem to put two and two together; that his plain pelt, small size, and cowardly nature were the reason they called him Dud. He was sold, as if into slavery. He was brought to a bad place, they called it the Trading Post. All around him were wolves with odd names, names like "Heavyweight 50 rarity!" and "32r All Common".

He suddenly had a new name, too, they called him "Cheap Starter Male!" Starter male? What does that mean? He spent much of his early life in the Trading Post, waiting for the right person to snatch him up. He was cheap, he knew, but so many alpha pairs just looked at him and scoffed at his weight and laughed when he trembled in fear like the coward he was. But the alpha pair of the Twist Of Fate pack came along, and they were different. They did not look at his cowardice or his weight, instead immediately handing over the 100 mush price and leading him home.

The moment they stepped onto the pack's territory, a miraculous change happened. Still small and cowardly, the unsightly grey male had transformed into a brightly colored white and blue wolf. For a while, the pack offered his studding services to pay back the mushrooms they spent on his purchase, but he soon took over the Alpha Male position and is taking full advantage of it. By which I mean, of course, flirting with ALL of the ladies. He has no permanent mate. The alpha female you see? She only holds the position temporarily because he's taken a liking to her. Just watch, she'll end up pregnant and he'll move on to another lovely lady.

Once upon a time, he strutted across the pack camp with a she-wolf on each side, a charming smirk on his face and his tail in raised dominantly. He drove out the intruders with a fierce (and devilishly handsome) growl, then went to spend some time with whichever lady caught him first afterwards. This is the life, he would think, and occasionally whisper in a she-wolf's ears. He was surrounded by females and none of them wanted to ever leave. They were so perfectly content bearing and rearing his pups, and the ones that did not were patiently waiting their turn.

Then he felt himself getting older. His joints creaked and ached, his body began to slow. Suddenly, life wasn't quite so joyful anymore. The she-wolves began to gossip about who would be his replacement, began to spread rumors that Fern's last litter had been completely male and that it was a sign. No, no, it wasn't his time to step down yet. He refused.

He loved being on top, but after a while one becomes tired.
Tired of fighting, tired of the constant struggle. Just tired. His last year was spent in peace and mostly solitude, lying in his den because he did not have the strength to explore or hunt anymore. Occasionally he would spend time with a she-wolf, but more often than not he nipped and growled and chased them off. He wished to live out his senior days in peace.
