Her Story: The small white pup snuggled against her sister and mother. Her eyes were softly shut and a soft smile had grown over her face. Her ears stood on edge as a wolf entered the den. A warm tongue touched her fur and she quickly opened her eyes, lifted her head, and gave the nose of the culprit wolf a lick. A deep chuckle came from the male wolf that stood before her. "Papa!" She yipped happily, watching as he laid down so his face was in hers. "Hello my star." He smiled. "Papa, where were you?" She asked curiously. "I was taking care of the pack." He answered. "Why?" She questioned. "Because your mother is the alpha, but she has to take care of you, so it is my job to take care of the pack." He explained. "What's an alpha?" She asked, her father gave a smile. "What you will be someday, Citlali." He said, moving to lay against Citlali's mother. Citlali wagged her tail, excited by the thought of being an alpha; whatever it was. She snuggled back into her mother's fur, her father now keeping her warm as well. She closed her eyes again and laid her head on her sister, a soft smile growing over her face once more. ~ Citlali, a beautiful young wolf now, padded out of her den, watching the pack. "Someday, you be their alpha, Citlali. And I know that you will lead them well." Her mother said, following her out of the den. "I will make you proud, mother. I will make you all proud." Citlali said, looking at her mother, Shikoba. "I know you will. For you are my daughter." Shikoba said proudly. Citlali gave her mother a smile, before padding off to explore the grounds. ~ Citlali came out of the brush to a pond and padded over to it, lapping at the cool water and then laying down, putting her two front paws into the water. She gazed upon the lake, a soft smile on her face. She had only recently discovered it, but it quickly became her favorite place. The day had been long, her parents having recently passed, she was still getting familiar with being alpha. The fact that her cousin had taken on the role of alpha male, since she did not have a mate, only added to the confusion. But everything considered, she was enjoying being alpha. Citlali had been able to slip away for a little while since nightfall had caused most of the wolves to go to sleep. She stared up at the almost full moon, then looked down at the water. Her reflection was clear in the pond, as well as all the stars. "A star among stars." She whispered to herself. Staring at her reflection, she noticed that her blue eyes seemed to be glowing. Other wolves had brought this to her attention, but she refused to believe it. Yet it was something she had noticed in her sister, too. It was strange, but she chose to ignore it. ~ Citlali had grown older, and found a mate. She stared down at her three beloved pups. A little male that was white, like herself, and a male and female that were both hickory like her mate. The three were plain, with no markings, yet Citlali didn't mind. "They're very plain." Her mate, Metrophanes, observed. "So are you." Citlali replied, a little defensively. "Yeah, but I would have expected better. We shouldn't keep them." He said, exiting the den. Citlali scoffed, then looked down at her sleeping pups. "Don't listen to him." She said in a motherly tone, "I love you, and the pack loves you, and that's all that matters." She added, licking them all one by one.
