last i remember, the inkheart series by cornelia funke was really good too- it's about a girl going into books, i believe? searching for her father who i think made magic books or stories or something? it's been a long time since i've read it but it was really good |
Enigma |
Animorphs mentioned!! Totally though, a kid gets bitten in half by a shark. I didn't even bat an eye at it as a kid |

Tern Oh my, both of those sound good! I will definitely have to look further into both of them! Katy Oh no, I hope you are alright! I am okay myself :') |

also animorphs is unironically really good. it's actually super twisted and dark- i haven't read much of it, and that was a long time ago, but i thoroughly enjoyed what i did read |

marsh, real jinx, i'm alright, had to go to urgent care earlier today so that sucked. trying to work on some art now but i feel kind of off. how're you? |
Eternitys Gaze |
jinx the inheritance cycle by christopher paolini (four books) is amazing. it's got a fully fleshed out world, its own language, dragons, elves, monsters, magic, and lots and lots of violence. there's a lot of one-sided pining throughout the entire series, but i don't think any real romance. it's quite probably one of the best book series i've ever read. in a similar vein, the last dragon chronicles by chris d'lacey (seven books) is also amazing. it's about dragons made out of clay, and has witches, evil gargoyles, i think doppelgangers, alternate dimensions, and plenty of angst. i think the violence is more mild, and it also has some mild romance |
