My mom let me do whatever, kinda, but I was a loser so I only ever hung out with one other kid anyway and spent most of my childhood convinced I was a wolf. lmaooo
Moonfall
Eye, I feel the older you get the more you realize your parents were weird but at the same time strangely normal. They just happen to be their own special brand
Moonfall
Eye, yeah, though it depended if it was one of the other parents from the Catholic school I attended at the time, and same grade, etc
Starlight Meadow
Well, like I said, with the stuff being put out now, my mom would probably never let me out of her sight. I know for me, when I have kids, I'm probably gonna be more protective and cautious. Most people just want to hangout online anyways these days, even back then, so it was hard to socialize. Mostly people only went to other's houses for parties.
Eye of Eternity
okay thank you for being a data set :'3 more proof that my mom is weird moonfall im assuming that was an overnight stay? were you allowed to go to other people's houses during the day?
Starlight Meadow
I was more of a lonely kid, but yes, in the early 2000's, I was allow to hang out at people's houses. The older we got, the more it had to be same sex's houses. We had rules, but I never really needed them. Read in my room listening to the radio most of the time.
Kháos
Quite a bit, yeah. It was super fun being in school. Now I'm in a big city and don't know anyone in-person. </3
Moonfall
Eye, not really, it was only the one time and that was cause my dad was in the hospital overnight
Eye of Eternity
so yall got to hang out with other kids at their houses a bunch is what im hearing
Starlight Meadow
Though, in this day and age, I don't think my mom would allow me to hangout with anyone without being present the whole time.
Kháos
Oh, doing homework together though, we never did that. That was strictly done in school together.
Kháos
Oh, my Mema didn't meet any of the parents. The only time she met the parent was when it was in the middle of absolutely nowhere and we spent multiple hours getting lost just trying to find the house. The house was less than 10 miles away from our own. It was actually insane how lost we got.
Kháos
I was. I always went to other houses. Bouncy house parties, horror movie parties, sleepovers, etc. We also had a massive sleepover both gender at the church once. That was an awesome night. Also had one kid have a lake house party. It was scary getting my foot caught on seaweed, but it was fun.
Eye of Eternity
starlight i shouldve added assume the parents have met each other :'3 makes sense though, thank you
Starlight Meadow
1st through 3rd grade, my parents had to be there the entire time. 4th and 5th they just had to meet the parents.
Eye of Eternity
okay genuine question for yall- when you were kids (like 1st-5th grade) were you allowed to go to other kid's houses? like for any reason (birthday, just to hang out, to do homework, sleepover, etc)?
