For bones, I'm saving up for something hehe

For me, all wolves must be HW and a hero. Having good rarity and looks is also prefered but not required

vitals and looks tbh are the only reasons I kill them unless I need more space

Any of these could be someone's reason, I feel like most people (me included) play this game in a way so we first find a wolf that meets our wishes and then we connect with it, instead of letting chance bring a random wolf to our door (I did do that a few times, for some unwanted defects - hip dysplasia has special place in my heart) cause even thou this whole game is very RP oriented not many follow that idea too seriously so many see wolves as pixel combination of traits and stats, there are so many wolves, with some patience and skill it is possible to get a perfect wolf, traits are important for popular activites such as exploration and breeding therefore no one that is seriously competitive in either is willing to give themselves short end of the stick by keeping and betting on objectively worse wolves(pixels). Nothing wrong with playing this game differenly - I did RP with person who took game seriously in RP sense so they RPed with wolves they had in their den, actual wolves they got somehow, and their ingame histories were bases for their story and anything that would happen to a wolf in game would affect the RP story (for example, getting hurt in exploration or breeding). Only condition I had to meet was that for specific wolves I RPed with I had to do the same basically. It was very fun in my opinion ^^ very memorable RP. But yeah, most of my pack had some form of utility with few randoms exceptions (cause I was more of an art pack with some PVP, exploration and breeding weren't my focus).

Also I feel like wolves here live kind of too little, so den gets constantly upadeted and it can get overwhelming trying to care for everyone to a high degree

Not high enough vitals/talents, ugly, no boost, CP penalty defect. I do a lot of breeding and I can never sell the ones I don't want so into the soup they go!
