Though, I did notice the comment on the TH link, and while I have always planned on paying you for your efforts, I do ask that you not submit anymore art for this contest if you're threatening to sell art of my characters if you don't find my payment reasonable.

I do not plan on reselling it. I would probably recolor and use the lines and make it into my own OC, and I would use it as an example of my own art.

Finally finished! I'm actually pretty happy with how it came out, and I know it looks traditional at first glance, but it's 100% digitally drawn. Took about three hours (excluding the couple trashed drafts I spent a few days on LOL), but I think it's still pretty solid.

I decided to draw Aurionis in a modern AU, as the owner of an orphanage for demis (half-human, half-animal people like the little girl in the picture) and the cook. I didn't draw the surroundings in the detail because I wanted to draw the attention to Aurionis, but also tell the scene from the girl's perspective. However, even though the girl is the narrator, I kept the girl's eyes shaded so as not to detract too much of attention from Aurionis, and also, in the scene, the girl would be focused on her new caretaker and source of comfort and safety, and not herself. I wanted to try out a manga-ish style as well, since I feel like this could be an introspective scene in a comic; just add some thought bubbles, haha.
