I don't think its guaranteed that if you leave prey on a tile that it disappears. Correct me if I'm wrong. >.<

As far as I know, prey is supposed to disappear in winter if you pass it except in the jungle because, you know, it's the jungle. It's nice and warm all year round. Prey is supposed to be scarce in winter which is why prey is supposed to flee if you pass it in the forest, swamp, desert, mountains, and tundra.

IÂ’m still having this trouble. Im almost positive that they are supposed to disappear immediately except if your in the Jungle

It only removed some of the prey randomly, and only under certain conditions. Not all prey get removed.
