What exactly is the difference between Subscribe and Subscribe to OP?

I know subbing will notify you when someone posts, but I don't know what the other one means.

Subscribe means you'll be notified when anyone posts on a forum

Subscribe to OP means you'll be notified when the creator of the forum makes a post on the forum

So if I subscribe to OP on this forum, I'd only be notified when you make a post, not when anyone else does.
