If one takes a picture of a sculpture and then uses it as their avatar and/ or sells it for game currency, would that be ok? Would it be ok to say it's (c) them because they took the picture?
Would this apply the same way for paintings, prints, and other works of art that are on public display in museums and such?
edit: Asking of the case in which the said work of art is not made by the person who took the picture and/ or used it as their avatar. |

I don't think so? I could be very well mistaken, but even though these artworks are on public display they're not yours. I guess you're allowed to take pictures of them, sure, but I don't think you'd be allowed to sell them for in-game currency. |

I personally only have pictures of rocks and boring minerals which shouldn't stand much of a copyright issue I hope. Some sites allow it since you're not selling the actual object or some mumble jumble about that. I'm not sure about WolfPlay though. :') |

Oh, if youre talking about nature then that's allowed, I'm almost sure. Since pebbles and flowers don't really have copyright issues. :p
I'm still a bit unsure if you're talking about famous monuments in nature, but if you're talking about the likes of Mona Lisa in the Louvre then that's a no. :p |
