Name: Neamh Age: 3 Gender: Mare Band: Moros' Rank: Mare Desired Rank: Content Appearance Credits to TigressStocks on DA for all images. Neamh is a very pretty mare. Her sleek coat takes on slight dappling and becomes paler during the winter months, though her coloring is much more vibrant throughout the rest of the year. She has a broad blaze and a tobiano patterning over her red dun base. The most color shows through on her chest, head, and flanks, with spots showing through along her barrel, ribs, and neck. Her mane and tail are quite silky, though the former is a little short, and have little coloration to them. Her body is very elegantly built. Slim legs merge with powerful shoulders and hindquarters which move into a lean physique and an arched neck. Her head hosts a slight Arabian dish and large, deep brown eyes. Neamh's withers come to about 16 hands high. Her ears curl slightly at the tips and her nostrils almost always appear flared. Neamh has a smooth gait and long, easy strides. She picks up her feet well and, despite her slender legs, she is quite surefooted. Speed and stamina are her strong suits. While she is agile, Neamh does much better without sharp turns and switchbacks due to an injury she aquired as a seven-month-old foal in which she twisted one of her hooves in a gopher hole. She hates gophers. Her voice is deep for a female's but has a pleasant ring to it, soothing unless she's in a mood. She smells of sagebrush and a misty morning. Neamh is, overall, a soft looking mare. Underneath her gentler exterior resides a complex, rugged creature. Personality She is quite mature for her age. Or, rather, Neamh knows when to speak her mind and when to shut up. She's thoughtful and quite smart, though her near-absolute obedience to the leads, lieutenant, and deputy can make her seem like a dopey creature. In reality, though, she simply sees the wisdom behind their words. She knows that they have more experience and is completely fine with having a better chance at survival by heeding their orders. Now, Neamh can only hope Shoteka learns fast how to handle situations. Neamh will speak her mind if she has an idea or opinion on something, though it's always said with the proper respect behind it. Her dam, who was quite old when Neamh was born, drilled respect into her daughter relentlessly before her death. Neamh, in turn, is careful to set a good example for the foals and yearlings on the subject of politeness and the proper handling of situations. Neamh has an incredibly strong maternal instinct and a deep-rooted loyalty to her herd. She is constantly watching others and her surroundings, always calculating, forever stubborn. Her observant nature often pushes her to the status of residential wallflower, as she very rarely starts an interaction with another horse. When her herd is threatened, though, out comes the completely unexpected side of this mare. She is fierce, and she does not care two bits about others' feelings as she rips into them verbally for whatever wrong they have caused someone she cares about. Predators and outsiders, if unlucky enough to come across her in one of these rages, will earn a scar or two. Seniority and much of her respectful nature will leave as well if an older horse does something completely out of line. Otherwise, Neamh keeps her irritation to a passive aggressive level. She's devious. This mare has little plots of her own with a wide variety of subject matter. If someone is in her way, Neamh will push them out so discreetly that it is rarely noticed. She excelled at such behaviors as a foal, especially placing ideas into others' heads and making it seem like they were the ones who came up with it. Of course, sometimes she is more vocal about her threats, and she will always follow through. She does not appreciate contention, though, and being around tense situations often sets her on edge. Neamh would much rather everyone stop whining about everything, and she will tell them such if it gets annoying enough. Name: Mara Age: 4 Gender: Mare Band: Aasritha's Rank: Mare Desired Rank: Content Credits to Alla-equi on DA for images. Appearance Mara is a lithe creature, standing around 15 hands and sporting long legs, a slightly arched neck, and a refined head. Her movements are smooth and seem to be drawn out, almost slow motion at times. Each stride shows off powerful musculature that is well-balanced with her more elegant features. Her ebony coat is short and sleek; it has a healthy sheen to it during the warmer months and becomes a little duller as her winter coat thickens it overall. A small snip and the faintest hint of a star are the only white markings on her body. She is well-proportioned, not too lanky or burly. Mara's build pairs well with her confident, graceful movements, and she sits at a happy medium between brute force and speed or agility. While she cannot claim to blow anyone out of the water in either regard, she is certainly capable of holding her own for any of them. Obviously, a stallion would have to be quite young or in rough shape for her to win a physical battle, but she would give most mares a run for their money-- not that she is big on instigating violence. Her expression is usually a calm, knowing one with a subtle aloofness to it. It is not unfriendly, per se, but it is certainly not inviting, either. She lacks the appearance of maternal warmth that some other mares radiate, instead replacing it with a cooler, more curt one. This is not to say she is lacking in the maternal department -- she just doesn't express her more endearing emotions as readily. Her expression shifts very little unless her emotions are more strongly felt. Her dark eyes are the window to her soul, but that window is usually shuttered. Personality Observant -- Stubborn -- Quick-Witted -- Intelligent -- Lower Energy -- Aloof -- Blunt -- Somewhat Patient -- Stern -- Family-Oriented -- Loyal? -- Takes No Crap While she may appear knowledgeable well beyond her years, Mara is still young and inexperienced, and she owns it. Her wisdom comes from following her elders, obeying commands, and observing outcomes of different situations. Her forte is watching with a calm, collected demeanor. She does not rise up in emotion as easily as other young horses, and she can hold her own in a battle of wits. Mara always dons a smooth expression, any emotion displaying in her eyes. Even then, her emotes are mild. Faint displeasure, for example, or a note of pride. It is extremely difficult to get a raise out of her, as she is quite good at deflecting comments or actions that she finds antagonizing. Despite this more languid base, she is not one to be run over. Her strength is a quiet one but it is there. Mara is the silent bearer of burdens, always ready to help her family through a hard time, and she will fight to the death to protect those she cares about. She is mostly loyal to her herd, though she may not always agree with decisions made, and she usually sticks to the rules. If she does bend or break them, it is mild and doesn't put others in danger. She does have an adventurous side to her as well, though it only really comes out around foals, who hold the dearest place in her heart. They are her favorite members of the herd, and she is always willing to play with them. Mara grew up too fast, as her mother died early on in her life and left her to fend for herself; playing around with the foals gives her a glimpse at what could have been and of what she wants for her offspring. Overall, this mare is wise and mature but lacks the power over others that comes with age. Mara is altruistic and charismatic, but she takes no nonsense and is not afraid to critique others for negative actions. Credits To LyraWhite @ DA This male stands at a powerful stature of 18HH, he towers over most he meets ; yet, while some may be intimidated by his height - their is really nothing to be intimidated by because he is a sweetheart to most, only his enemies should have to worry about his height and strength. This male is rather strongly built, you can see his muscular frame when he moved and runs. He is well adept for protecting himself against attacks and those he dearly loves as well ; he also has scars to prove his merit for protecting those close to him. When you look at him, you notice how he appears to have been splashed by a paint bucket - his primary color being a bay coloration and in some lighting it can be mistaken for a darker bay color. He has beautiful snowy white markings to compliment his darker colors, and he has long socks on his legs. His mane is a very dark brown with a slight intermix of black, and then their is a streak of whitish platinum blonde within his mane ; as for his tail, it is a long length almost dragging the ground - the roots are a dark brown then switches to the platinum blonde color and then intermixed with the original dark brown color. He would be considered very attractive by made standards. His voice is a slightly deeper one with a warm and playful tone, it being kind and welcoming. And his scent is one of fresh morning rain intermixed with herbs and an earthy pine scent.  Personality: When meeting this male, the first thing you notice is the charismatic energy that radiates from him ; the energy oozes from his every word, charming smile, and even his laugh. He's certainly a charming male - knowing how to speak well and get on the good side of others, having the gift of gab is always a good thing. Why? Because it means he can easily blend in and fit in with the crowd - and while he can blend in, he can also stand out. There is a certain positive and cheerful energy that he possesses that most find either unbelievable or endearing, he always seems to have a smile on his face or laughter in his voice. He brings happiness wherever he goes ; his calm demeanor and kind personality is infectious, even warming the coldest of hearts. He just knows how to worm his way into your heart without thinking about it - his earnesty being genuine and something that he couldn't possibly fake. It's to be noted that he is rather empathetic, always willing to be a listening ear or shoulder to cry on - he's gentle and kind with his words when uplifting and reassuring them, he doesn't expect anything in return but seeing the person happy again. He also seems to find the wayward and lost, them seemingly gravitating to him and being taken under his wing ; he shows no prejudice or hostility to those different or strange, and treats them as potential new friends - he always gives the benefit of the doubt, only when you have proven yourself untrustworthy or harmful then will he treat you unkindly - otherwise he's a rather hospitable and welcoming soul. Always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need - yet, he isn't foolish enough to believe that they might not have good intentions, so don't think you can pull wool over his eyes so easily. While he is a good person, even good people have something that doesn't suit them. This male is very intelligent, and he picks up and learns things rather quickly - he's also highly observant, even when he's socializing he's still wagging others. He's able to read body language, notice the small things others wouldn't notice - it makes him good at reading peoples emotions and telling their intentions, it's rather hard to lie to him. Another thing, he is a sweet-talker, knowing just the words to say to butter someone up and get them speaking - he also knows how to use his wits to his advantage, being able to turn suspicions away from him with just the slightest tears for someone accusing him of such a deed. He can be manipulative, using it to get information or others to do his will - but he doesn't like doing that and so he tries to keep this side more so to himself. So even if this male acts like a goofball at times with corny jokes and even airheaded behavior, one still shouldn't underestimate him - why, because he knows when to grow serious and take charge. If put in a position of leadership, he definitely would excel - he knows how to connect with those around him, he also listens and cares what those he leads thinks, and not to mention he's very protective of those that he considers "his" . It's to note that this male is highly territorial, he doesn't do well with outsiders or those that challenge him - he's very much a more dominant personality and doesn't like being told what to do, but will do it until he works his way to being the one giving the orders. He may be polite with strangers, but their is still a chilly and wary aura that will surround him when dealing with them - and don't even bother to think of what happens to those that cross his family. It is well-known that this male has the patience of a saint as others say, having earned the reputation of being sightly scary but other wise a big teddy bear - now why would he be scary? Few people have made him their enemy and live to tell the tale ; or they go the opposite direction when seeing this male. Their is a certain aura this male has when he's angry : one it's a cold and chilly aura, and one that's like a disappointed father scolding a child and most can deal with that but the anger that his enemies are met with is a overwhelming feeling - one of a fiery anger that promises vengeance. When dealing with enemies ; this male is rather vicious and ruthless, he looses all empathy for them - especially if they've harmed anyone he loves. He can and will put up one hell of fight and he will fight until his last breath to protect his home, family and friends. He's also one to put his life on the line to save another, he's selfless like that and would rather get himself hurt than see another dead. It's a reckless move, but he is one to purposely put himself in harms way to save others. He is fiercely loyal to his home and protective of it, and would breathe his last breath defending it to the best of his ability as well. No one can ever question his loyalty, because he's as loyal as they come. Now, he isn't blindly loyal - and he only respects those that earn his respect otherwise he wouldn't be caught dead under their leadership if he could help it. Now when it comes to romance, it's no secret that this male does well with the ladies - he's a smooth talker, he has the looks, and not to mention he's strong and able to provide for his future significant other. He's pretty, and he knows it - he likes to keep his appearance up, after all he can't try and get a lover and look a hot mess that's the easiest way to get rejected. He's a bit of a flirt, charming ladies with sweet and flattering words - yet he means every single compliment he gives. One knows he is truly in love or has a eye for a girl when he begins to gift her things that seem random like flowers, feathers, or a shiny rock - he gives things to ones he likes. And he pays attention to the things that she likes as well and tries to make her happy. Once he is locked down by his girl ; you will find he is the most faithful and doting partner one can find, never keeping a secret from her and doing everything to make sure she knows that she is beloved by him. When he becomes a father, you best believe he's a doting dad - his kids will have him wrapped around their fingers, especially his daughters, they are his princesses and he will make sure they know that. He's very protective of his kids and anyone who even thinks of attempting to hurt them or being mean to his babies will be facing his fangs without question. One can tell she was raised to be a well-mannered lady ; from the way she speaks eloquently, and always has some sense of charm to her words - the way she speaks is soothing, like honey dripping from her tongue and gentle on the ears of others. When she speaks, she has a definite purpose, she will not make a fool out of herself - as they say, she knows when to hold them and knows when to fold them. She has a certain gift of persuasion, being able to change the mind of others and get them to see it from her point of view - it can be said she is a tad bit manipulative, able to guilt others into doing something or being able to extract information she needs. Now, most don't ring alarm bells because for the most part she is a genuinely nice soul - it is only when you've invoked her fury will she up the ante. She's very intelligent and sharp ; able to come up with plans and solutions to problems rather quickly and effectively, and she's also good with others - able to listen and empathize with them and sometimes even sympathize. She is one with the people, and has a strong connection with them - always willing to listen to their concerns and help them when she is able to. However, while she is giving and warm - she expects it in return, so if she has helped you in the past and she requests your help in a genuine time of need you best believe she expects you to help her. She doesn't appreciate recklessness or foolish behavior out of those who are supposed to be mature, and she doesn't appreciate adults acting like children either - it grinds her gears when adults bicker like little children over something simple. Also, if you're being a jerk and abusing your power, then she will call you out on it. Just because you're in a position of power doesn't mean she will gravel to you - one has to earn her respect and loyalty, and that's a tough thing to do. She doesn't appreciate anyone who is unnecessarily bossy or micromanaging, and she will tell you exactly how she feels about that. This female is rather spirited - she holds herself in high esteem, not in a arrogant way, but in a way of that she knows exactly who she is and what she stands for and she won't let anyone or anything change that. She is confident in herself and knows her self worth and won't let anyone tell her otherwise. She is rather opinionated and bold - not afraid to speak out against injustice or go against it, she knows when to stand her ground and when to find a better time to draw attention to a problem. While she does care deeply for those she knows, there are few that she would do anything for - and that means anything, even if it means breaking one of her own morals if she loves you that much. It's to be noted, she doesn't see the world in black and white - she understands the grey areas and isn't afraid to use it to her advantage, even if it means making enemies or others misunderstanding her intention. While this female is truly a loyal creature, she's only loyal as long as you are doing your job right - she's not one to sit by idly as you make her life miserable just for fun, if you can't get it right or are doing wrong then she will make you get it right. It's easy for her to make friends, she's charismatic and charming - easily able to attract others with her manners, but she's wary of trusting others and letting them into her heart. Why? Because she's trusted before and gotten burned . . . badly, and she isn't keen on letting that happen again - so if one wants to truly be her friend then they have to have the patience to consistently get her attention and stand by her side. Just know, that once she calls you her friend, you have someone that will stand with you until the end of time itself or until she takes her last breath ; just don't break that trust or you'll lose such special bond. It's not common for this female to get upset, however annoyed or miffed are part of her. Once can tell by her speech that she's beginning to become a bit annoyed by something, her words become more sharp and witty - while the sweet flowery tone of voice is their, their is more sarcasm and wit in her remarks to the object or person of her annoyance. She can be quite sassy when she wants to be, and she's quite mouthy when she's annoyed - she can and will argue with you up and down as well. Now when it comes to her real anger ; when she's mad, you better take cover - no one is able to escape her wrath. It's safe to say, when she's mad - she is on a warpath and anyone who tries to get in her way will be crushed and ground to dust ; the object of her fury will have to deal with her, she can and will threaten them - but also, she is not above getting physical either, if they're itching for a fight then she damn well will give them one. And she will not be gentle about it, she will go all out and there will be blood drawn - so it's safe to say, be careful when challenging her to a fight because even when she angry to challenge her makes her annoyed and she will prove herself to be superior. It is to note that she can be rather fierce ; a force of nature not to be trifled with, she is a fierce protector of those she knows and cares for - sometimes even willing to put her own life on the line for them. While she may have an easygoing spirit most of the time, you can see her fierce nature blaze within her eyes in moments and other times you can see it when she's using it for good. When it comes to her family ; you best believe that this female is highly protective of her own. From her brothers and sisters to her nieces and nephews - all of them fall under the umbrella of her love and her protection. There is no question that if you hurt anyone that is her family, you better believe that she will bring the pain to you - she doesn't tolerate anyone who will slander or harm her family members and if you thing of doing such a thing she will find a way to make misfortune come your way. Now while she is protective of her family, there is no one that she is more protective of than her children - especially her younger ones. She loves her children and she protects them with her life and all her souls ; after all that is a mother's sword duty to do so. She raises her children with love - yet, there will always be a firm hand if needed. She makes sure her children have manners, because she will not accept anything less than that - and they will be taught how to be respectful as well. She will not raise disrespectful hooligans ; and if her children are being naughty she knows just how to handle them. Even when her children are older they better show her some respect as their mother and better not think just because they're nearly grown it'll save them from a lecture about their deplorable behavior. While she gets that other mother's maybe worried about her children ; she doesn't appreciate mares taking it upon themselves trying to discipline or raise her children in any way., and she will let it be known. Unless you are her mother or father ; do not try and make "helpful" suggestions to her on how to raise her children. When it comes to romance, this female is a rather possessive when it comes to her lover ; she doesn't tolerate females trying to make a move on her partner and if he's encouraging them, he'd better run because he will receive a scolding too. She also doesn't like females making bodily contact with her mate because it means that female has gotten too comfortable. Of course, this doesn't apply to his family or friends (unless they begin looking suspicious) . She is a loving partner, doing her best to make them smile and make them happy - she loves being with them and learning things about them. She is rather softer and more affectionate with her partner than most ; and you can see her being more carefree and happier with the person that she loves. And it is well noted that this female likes the small things ; surprises, flowers, little spontaneous dates, & anything creative. As long as you know how to keep her happy, she will be a loving and happy partner. One thing to mention is : she doesn't tolerate cheaters or someone who will treat her like trash ; so if you switch your behavior towards her, then she's switching hers towards you.
