I used to love doubles because it was time efficient and I got a break in the middle. My current job does not offer official breaks (you sort of just find spare quiet moments to eat and such) so I currently do not like them.

Plot
"There’s this town, and it seems normal at first. The kids all live in nice homes with families that seem real enough. There are neighbors, teachers, shopkeepers, everything you’d expect in a small town. But none of it is real. The parents aren’t their parents, the neighbors aren’t really neighbors, and the whole town is fake. Everyone except the kids works for this big corporation that’s running an experiment.

It started years ago, back when the corporation wanted to study neurodivergence. They created it by giving pills or shots to certain people, changing their minds and bodies over time. Then they took those people’s kids, raised them in this controlled town, and watched what happened. They wanted to see how neurodivergence affected the kids, how they’d grow up, and how they’d handle life when everything around them was so carefully managed.

The kids don’t know the truth. They think this is just their life. But as they get older, they start noticing things. Weird clues pop up—conversations that don’t make sense, things that feel off. Over time, they start putting it together, figuring out that the whole town is a lie. The corporation is always watching, always testing, but the kids are smart. Once they start pulling at the threads, the whole thing might fall apart."

Rules
1. Follow all of Eve's already made rules. You should already know them but if you don't click this link and scroll down to find the roleplay rules for the site: Click!

2. You're limited to one character. This may change later on but it's unlikely. Please don't try to reserve two. NPCs not included.

3. You will have to reserve your own spot, you shouldn't be asking for other people. Admittedly I'm bad at keeping track of reservation end dates, so you'll be marked on the list for more time than you probably have. Reservations will last 48 hours with no extensions unless you're almost done, players can request to take your reservation slot if the time limit is up.

4. This roleplay is welcoming to the LGBTQ+ community, if you have a problem with that I'll fight you (kidding, I'll get a mod if you make a fuss out of it). Neurodivergent are and I quote; "significantly more likely to identify as LGBTQ+".

5. I am the host. If you have a certain idea that will cause some chaos, please run it by me first <3 I'll probably find a way to have it happen in a way that fits the plot. NPCs will be played by me if they're important (ex. The doctor) but otherwise can be played by you.

6. There is no limit for writing skills, but I would like semi-literate or above. No shame in small replies so long as there's something your fellow rp partners can do with it. No word limit, I mean. You're not expected to post quickly, just whenever it's your turn. You're expected to be active in the discussion though, just so we know you're with us still.

7. If you would like to leave, the slot will open up again but if you want to rejoin, feel free to PM me! I have a few fun ideas for how to get lost characters back in and so on. If you decide to leave the RP, you can have your character killed off or to simply go to an outside area but either way the spot will be open again here.

8. Please mark your characters as a WIP. Please PM me when they're done. I will not accept or decline a character if they're still marked as a WIP. If you need help in some area, pm me but please don't constantly ask the same questions over and over again.

9. Have fun! Put one of these three words under the "Other" section so I know you've read the rules. Perch, Identity, Stimming. Bonus points for using all three lmao

Basic Neurodiversity Information
Neurodiversity is about the different ways people's brains can work. It’s the idea that everyone’s brain processes the world in unique ways. Some people may think, act, or feel differently because their brain works a little differently. That’s okay. These differences are part of what makes each person who they are. People with neurodivergence might have different strengths and challenges compared to those who are considered neurotypical.

Some examples of neurodivergent conditions include autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and more. Autism affects how someone interacts with others and the world. People with autism might find it harder to understand social cues, and they might like routines or have special interests that they focus on. ADHD is all about focus, organization, and controlling impulses. Someone with ADHD might get distracted easily or have trouble sitting still. Dyslexia makes reading and writing harder, but it doesn’t affect intelligence. People with dyslexia might mix up letters or have trouble reading aloud. Dyspraxia is a condition that affects coordination and motor skills. It might make simple tasks like writing or walking feel difficult. Dyscalculia makes math hard to understand, even though people with it can be good at other things. Tic disorders, like Tourette’s, cause involuntary movements or sounds that can’t be controlled. Sensory Processing Disorder means that someone might be too sensitive or not sensitive enough to things like lights, sounds, or touch.

This list is just a few examples of neurodivergence. There are many other conditions and experiences that fit into this category, like OCD, anxiety, or other learning differences. Everyone’s experience is different, and that's important to remember. Just because someone has a certain condition doesn’t mean they’re the same as everyone else with that condition.

It’s also important to note that if someone says they have a neurodivergent condition, that’s their truth. It’s not okay to make up or change terms about what someone experiences. If you’re not sure what something means, just ask. Don’t make assumptions. Every person’s experience with neurodivergence is their own, so always listen to how they want to be understood.

Optional Supernatural Base Info
Supernatural signs will be with you your whole life. For example, if you're a siren, you’ll find yourself drawn to water and have a love for swimming, even if you don’t understand why. These signs will be there, guiding you toward discovering your true supernatural form and abilities. But at the ages of 16 and older, you’ll actually start to develop your supernatural traits and abilities. That’s when you’ll discover your actual abilities and how they work.

However, your neurodiversity might not always mix well with your supernatural type, and if you want a challenge, that’s something you can explore. For example, your neurodivergent traits could make it harder for you to control your supernatural abilities or make it more difficult to balance both sides of yourself. If you want to take on that challenge, you can. It’s all about how you want your character to develop and how your neurodiversity and supernatural traits interact.

It’s also important to remember that being a supernatural is totally optional. You don’t have to be one if you don’t want to. You can choose to just be human, and that’s completely fine. But if you’re interested in exploring the supernatural side of things, you can choose to be a supernatural.

Characters can only be 16+ for this roleplay. Anything below 16 will be declined.

This roleplay is designed to provide a space for people to learn about neurodivergence and explore it in an open, accepting way through their characters. It’s meant to be a fun and inclusive environment where participants can engage with neurodivergent traits thoughtfully and respectfully. Please note that the way neurodiversity is portrayed in the RP, particularly how it begins, is not an accurate representation of its real-world origins. It is purely for the sake of the plot and is not intended to be entirely realistic.

Personality

Recon's personality is built upon his prior experiences, shaping him into his incrediby disciplined self. His military mindset is a fortress, built with discipline, strategy, and an unbreakable resolve. Every step he takes, every move he makes has been calculated, every decision weighed for the pros and cons, trying to figure out the best option that will result in the least concequences. His resolve is unyielding, determination that is unmovable. He'd do anything to protect his friends, even if it meant he wouldn't make it out alive.

On the surface, Recon puts up a cold exterior, walls built to protect his heart from those around him. It's not uncommon for his people to think they pissed him off, when in all reality, he just has a resting bitch face and is usually content. His rough facade of stoic indifference is a defense mechanism, a way to keep everyone at arm's length and protect himself from the pain of getting close with someone, only to be hurt in the end. It's a mask he seems to wear effortlessly, but beneath it all, it weighs on him like a ton of bricks. Along with using the ice to keep himself safe, he also uses it to conceal the depth of his suffering, the amount of pain he goes through daily along, and his deep rooted self loathing.

And yet, beneath his hardened exterior lies an ocean of kindness and love for Recon to offer. This gentleness is a rare and precious gift, revealed only in moments of trust and vulerability. Although when it's necessary, his touch is gentle, words soothing and empowering, as he tries to build his up and offer comfort in hard times. It's in these fleeting moments that his true personality makes an appearance, the true depth of his compassion and love for his friends shines through, a stark contrast to his otherwise stoic and commanding demeanor.

Recon's tough exterior and unwavering focus have left him terribly unversed in the art of flirting along with most socializing. His attempts at showing a romantic interest are nonexistant, mostly involving him refusing to go talk to that wolf and stumbling over his words when talking with her. The bumbling child that rears it's head in the face of affection is a stark contrast to his typical calculated demeanor. Despite this, Recon longs for genuine connection, a desire that eats at him in the quiet moments he has to himself. He dreams of finding someone who can see past his hardened facade, his scars, both physical and emotional, someone who can understand an accept both his strengths and vulnerabilities. Someone who will be there for him while he's having an epileptic episode. But this yearning for affection, however, is tempered by a fear of exposing his deepest scars, being vulernable, and being hurt, making the search for love another battlefield for him to traverse, constantly attempting to dodge the landmines.

If given the chance, Recon is a force to be reckoned with in the leadership department. His presence commands respect, his voice a frightening call of authority he doesnt have. He'd lead with an iron will, believing that a command from someone in a leadership role should be followed without question or hesitation. He knows when to be firm, when to push hard, but also when to stop and lend a hand for support. He hopes that one day he could be a leader, with his friends following him, not out of obligation, but out of respect for the man he is.

Despite his many strengths, Recon is plauged by profound self-loathing. He's his own harshest critic, judge and jury that focuses on his flaws and failures. Every short coming feels like he's lost another battle, he let his family and friends down again. This inner turmoil is a constant, gnawing presence, reminding him of how he watched his sister die, pinned to the floor by a violent seizure brought on by the fear and adrenaline rush of a fight. He was stuck there for five minutes before his body began relaxing and he tried to pull his thoughts back together. The condition is a cruel reminder of his vulnerability, a weakness he despises with every fiber of his being, and of how at any moment, just a kick of adreneline could leave him incapacitated. Unable to protect his friends. Letting them all down.

However, this battle with self-loathing and epilepsy also has ignited a fierce determination within him. Recon refuses to be defined or limited by his condition, pushing himself to the brink to prove his worth. His resilience is a testament to his character, a fire that burns brightly even in the darkest of times.

Type of Neurodiversity

AuDHD with chronic anxiety & depression

Recon’s experience with autism isn't at the more severe end of the spectrum, but it still affects his daily life and interactions. His social difficulties make it hard for him to always pick up on social cues or navigate conversations smoothly. For example, his attempt at humor might be well-meaning, but he often misjudges the timing or appropriateness of his jokes. He might crack a sarcastic remark in the middle of a serious discussion, or make an inappropriate joke during a tense moment. Despite this, he’s not intentionally trying to offend anyone; it’s just that his sense of timing and understanding of social dynamics doesn’t always align with others' expectations.

His sensory sensitivities also present challenges. Recon finds certain textures—especially chalky or sandy ones—unbearable. The feeling of sand between his fingers or chalk dust on his skin can cause him significant discomfort, leading him to avoid activities or situations that might trigger this sensitivity. It’s not just an irritation; it’s an almost overwhelming physical experience that makes it difficult to concentrate or stay present.

Recon’s ADHD manifests in a way that reflects his boundless energy and constantly shifting focus. Conversations can be a journey through his mind, as his thoughts hop from topic to topic without warning. He might start talking about something as serious as the economy, only to suddenly veer off into a tangent about the history of tea, often forgetting the original point. This can make him seem erratic or distracted, even though he’s fully engaged in whatever topic has captured his attention. His mind is constantly racing, with thoughts flashing in and out of focus, which can make it difficult for him to stay on task. His thoughts might move so fast that it’s hard for him to finish one before moving onto the next.

This task paralysis is one of his biggest struggles. Recon often finds himself frozen in the face of a to-do list, unable to start or finish tasks, no matter how urgent or important they are. The overwhelming sense of having so many things to do but no clear way to organize or prioritize them often causes him to shut down. The chaos in his mind mirrors the chaos in his environment, leaving him feeling like he’s drowning in an ever-growing list of things to accomplish. It’s a silent, constant frustration for him, one that makes him feel inadequate, especially when others seem to be able to handle their responsibilities with ease.

Appearance

Recon, as a human, embodies the same blend of agility, intelligence, ferocity, and strength that defines his animal counterpart. Standing tall at 6'2" with a muscular yet sleek build, he weighs in at 215 lbs, making him an imposing figure. His body is finely tuned for speed and precision rather than brute force, his movements efficient and calculated like a predator on the hunt. His athletic frame boasts strong, agile limbs, allowing him to excel in swift, unexpected attacks, leveraging strategy and stealth to outmatch opponents.
Recon's skin is a unique mosaic of warm tan with an undertone of silvery-gray, creating a subtle shimmer that catches the light like molten metal. His sharp facial features are striking, with high cheekbones, a strong jawline, and a defined nose. His piercing royal blue eyes dominate his expression, radiant with intelligence and a depth that seems to penetrate those who meet his gaze. At times, his eyes appear cold and unyielding, a shield masking his emotions, but they soften in rare, quiet moments of vulnerability or when he's with those he trusts.
His dark, short hair reflects the intricate blend of a Vancouver Island wolf’s silver and black coat. Brushed with streaks of dark gray that ripple like shadows, it falls in loose waves, lending him a wild yet deliberate aesthetic. The darker strands accentuate the nearly black mask-like pattern that seems to shadow his features. Across the bridge of his nose, faint silver streaks create an almost otherworldly accent, hinting at his primal heritage.
A thick, muscular neck transitions seamlessly into broad shoulders and a powerful chest that speaks of strength and endurance. His long, toned arms end in large hands with calloused palms, a testament to the hard life he leads. A jagged scar runs down his left side, a permanent reminder of a fight to protect his younger sister—a memory that weighs heavily on him.
Recon's clothing mirrors his pragmatic personality: durable and functional, often favoring muted tones like charcoal gray, deep black, and olive green. Around his wrists are almost always bracelets from people he met on bases and in schools, having adopted a big brother role in his youth.
Recon walks with confidence, every step purposeful and quiet, exuding the predatory grace of someone who knows exactly who they are and what they are capable of. His scars, his movements, and his aura tell the story of a survivor—someone hardened by experience yet capable of great loyalty and fierce protection for those he holds dear.

Strengths

  • Highly Strategic: His ability to think critically and calculate risks makes him a natural strategist. He’s disciplined in his approach to challenges and always looks for the most efficient, low-consequence way forward.
  • Creative Problem Solver: Despite the challenges with ADHD, Recon can connect seemingly unrelated ideas, leading to creative solutions that others may overlook. His mind’s ability to jump between topics allows him to think outside the box.

  • Resilient: His determination and inner strength enable him to face adversity head-on, even with his sensory sensitivities, ADHD, and task paralysis. He refuses to let his conditions define or limit him.

  • Loyal and Protective: His deep loyalty to his friends shows through in his fierce protectiveness. He’ll do anything to ensure the safety and well-being of those he cares about.

  • Empathy and Compassion: Despite his rough exterior, Recon has a deep capacity for empathy. He’s able to offer comfort and understanding in moments of vulnerability, making him an anchor for those in need.

  • Attention to Detail: His autism gives him a heightened awareness of small details, which can be beneficial in situations where precision is key. He notices things others might miss, making him an asset in tactical planning.

  • Strong Moral Compass: Recon has a deep sense of right and wrong, which guides his actions. He strives to protect others and uphold his values, even when it costs him.

  • Dependable and Determined: His sense of duty and commitment ensures he follows through, even when he struggles with task paralysis. Once he sets his mind to something, he will persist until it’s done.

  • Independent: Recon’s self-sufficiency, especially when dealing with his internal struggles, allows him to face challenges alone when needed, without relying too heavily on others.

  • Resourceful: Recon’s ADHD fuels his adaptability. He can quickly shift strategies or approaches based on new information or changing circumstances.

Weaknesses

  • Social Struggles: Recon has difficulty interpreting social cues, often making him come off as aloof, awkward, or unintentionally offensive. His jokes might be ill-timed or inappropriate, causing miscommunication and tension in his relationships.

  • Task Paralysis: When faced with multiple tasks, Recon often freezes up, unable to start anything. The overwhelming sense of having too much to do causes him to shut down, leading to feelings of inadequacy and frustration.

  • Sensory Sensitivity: Certain textures, like chalky or sandy ones, trigger strong physical discomfort for Recon. These sensory sensitivities can be debilitating, making it hard for him to focus or engage in certain activities.

  • Difficulty with Change: Recon’s autism makes him more sensitive to change, especially when it’s sudden or unplanned. This can create stress and anxiety, as he struggles to adapt to new situations or environments.

  • Emotional Walls: His tendency to put up emotional barriers to protect himself makes it difficult for him to open up and connect with others on a deeper level. He keeps people at arm’s length, which can isolate him and prevent meaningful relationships.

  • Overthinking: Recon’s ADHD and strategic nature can lead him to overanalyze situations or decisions. He spends too much time weighing pros and cons, which can delay action and make him appear indecisive.

  • Internal Self-Criticism: His harsh self-judgment and constant comparison to others leads to significant self-loathing. Recon often feels like he's failing or not doing enough, even when others don’t see his struggles.

  • Impulsiveness: Though he’s often strategic, Recon can also act impulsively due to his ADHD. His mind moves too quickly, causing him to make decisions or say things before fully considering the consequences.

  • Emotional Baggage: The trauma of losing his sister and the guilt tied to it weighs heavily on him. His grief manifests as a driving force to protect others, but it also traps him in cycles of self-doubt and painful memories.

  • Difficulty Asking for Help: Recon’s pride and sense of duty prevent him from reaching out for support, even when he needs it. This can cause him to struggle in silence, exacerbating his feelings of isolation.

  • Overbearing Protectiveness: His deep sense of duty and guilt leads him to become overly protective of his friends, to the point of obsession. This can make him seem controlling or suffocating at times, as he tries to shield others from harm at all costs.
