Name:

Anja

Old Norse Name Meaning “Merciful or Gracious”

Age:

5 years

Gender:

Female

Pack:

Golden Summit

Reputation:

My oh my, does this lady have some reputation. She’s the lowest of the low. The scum of the scum. The dirt and grim beneath one’s paws. You get the idea. There is not one sane wolf that can look this female in the face and act as though she did nothing wrong. But she was not always this way.

In her younger years, Anja was an incredibly skilled yet kind wolf with very few unsettling aspects to her. Much like her daughter, Lumi, just not as strict or serious. Her main strengths resided in her physical strength and leadership abilities. Her strength was quite a sight to behold, with her being able to knock down some of the heaviest in the pack before she was even two years of age. Her battle skills were a bit lacking though, but nothing she couldn’t and didn’t improve upon. For leadership, it honestly felt as though wolves were naturally drawn to her guidance. She didn’t even have to put up much of a fuss for others to follow her. Even at a young age, she had taken a kindling to leading other youth or unranked around with much ease. And her strategies were decently effective as well. Though, there were aspects of her – even back then – that were a tad off putting. Namely her lack of fear towards any and all dangerous situations. It was always a bit… unnerving to see a wolf so calm in the face of what most would presume to be ensured death. But it could also be seen as empowering to view another so unafraid of impending doom. It, in a way, led to many more wolves following her in an attempt to glimpse or maybe even gain some of what they could only assume was courage.

Being a natural born leader, essentially “fearless,” having amassed what could be considered a following, and holding a high sense of justice, it was of no surprise to most that she was appointed as the pack’s Honorable Lady. And she was… great at the job! She was great at dealing with civil disputes, acted as an amazing judge, jury, and executioner, and did an all around amazing job at filling in for the Empress when she was ill. Her voice was known for its commanding tone that none could ever fight against, and her immovable drive to better the pack granted the wolves a lot of benefits. She practically acted as though she was everyone’s mother. But… overtime, a shift took place. One that no one could have predicted. Her outwardly kind demeanor diminished, replaced with one of anger and hostility. Her optimism turned to pessimism as she began to spiral into rather dark thoughts. And her inviting aura did a complete ninety degree turn and became foreboding and unapproachable. She began to boss around the pack a bit too much, stretching her reach much further than her title actually allowed. She was quickly put back into her place but she… got to thinking. What if… she was meant to rule? What if it was her bloodline that was supposed to be on that throne, and not the golden lady’s? Her natural born talent of leadership was proof enough that her bloodline was superior to anyone else’s, so why not ensure that it was the one the throne? There was just one issue: the Empress and her pups were standing in her way. But not for long…

No one is quite sure what caused the… Snap for this female. Maybe power had fully gone to her head? Maybe she saw weakness and tried to exploit it? Could she have always been like this? Or was she actually possessed by a demon? No matter the reason, she did the unthinkable. She slaughtered the Empress’ pups. Without rhyme or reason, claiming that they were impure little demons that she foresaw as being the destruction of the pack. She went on the claim that only her litter could possibly bring back their rightful glory when the time of destruction came… but she was promptly punished for her actions. Now, she is seen as nothing more than a disgraced pup killer, looking for revenge that will never be rightfully hers.

Rank:

An Unmentionable

Desired Rank:

The Empress. And nothing less.

Thoughts On The Wanderers:

Let them come. She’ll help them if she can, as long as they promise her the throne of what’s left of the pack. Anything to get back at that blasted Empress of this pack.

Appearance:

Not much is left of what Anja used to be. What she is now is nothing more than the shell of her former self. But, nonetheless, she is still a sight to behold. She stands at a decent 33 inches tall. Not particularly small but not large either. Her weight comes in around 168 pounds, and is formed more so from muscle than anything else. Then again, considering her current… state, it wouldn’t really have much else to come from. Her build is one of near-pure bulk, with a touch of bone and matted fur on the side. It is not at all akin to what it used to be – being an almost mangled or completely divided sort of state. A sorry sight for all those who do not know of her crimes. The upper half of her form is pure muscles, most of which are located around her shoulders – giving her a rather broad looking look. These shoulders are also high set, or upwards as most would describe them. This adds a lot of power to her strikes and front-based lunges, and deter the idea of backing her into a corner. As such, attacking from this angle would prove to be a death sentence for anyone stupid enough to cross her. Her back end (middle back to tail), however, is completely scrawny. Devoid of most muscle except for what she actually needs to be mobile. Though her legs – all four of them – are very long. Much like those of a few of her family members. A trait that seems to run in the bloodline, it seems. When walking (or in most any stance for that matter), she constantly hangs her head slightly downwards – keeping her eyes out of everyone’s direct line of sight. But this is not at all done out of respect. Rather, it is a showcase of injuries dealt to her for her “crimes.” If she could look others in the eye without having to lay down, she would. But it does formulate an oddly intimidating stance, so she’ll take it. And her fluffy cheeks are more than welcome, if not to add a hint of unassuming “innocence” to her. Not that it really does much, but it can cause younger individuals to drop their guard a bit. Especially those dumb enough to not heed the warnings of the others…

The Unmentionable’s coat is a rather odd yet stunning one, unmistakable by all those who encounter her. It is a mysterious mix of browns, tans, whites, grays, and silvers – all connected yet completely divided amongst the follicles of her fur. It could easily be compared to a rocky landscape, where all forms and colors of large, oddly colored stones reside. White makes up the majority of her lower half, throat and lower sides included. Its hue is not as pure as it once was, having been tainted over the years, and is rather difficult to keep clean. Especially that on her hind legs. Though, some of the blinding white of her youth still remains – specifically along the sides of her muzzle. Almost as though her very coat signified the possibility of repentance… Yeah, that’s just wishful thinking. Her sides, neck, back, and back-half of her hind legs are all painted in various shades of tan and brown. It starts out on the light side along her hind legs before growing darker along the latter half of her back as well as her neck. Though, the “brown” aspect of it all is particularly seen on her lower sides. Gray worms its way into the tan and brown of her pelt, but is rather underwhelming in most areas. However, a darker, near-black hue of gray does become rather prevalent along her upper back and tail – separating the tan and even creating an almost diamond sort of shape on her upper tail with the aid of some lighter gray. The tip has also been dipped in this dark gray, with a hint of silver mixed in. The female’s shoulders take on a silverish-tan color, cutting through the tan of her back for that small portion of fur. Said tan continues along her neck afterwards. Running from the base of her head is a silverish stripe of fur, starting from between her ears and making its way to the base of her shoulders. This is barely visible is some lighting, but can be easy to spot by those who have grown used to her. A light gray facemask makes up a large portion of her face, forming around her forehead and under her eyes. It can be seen extending down the tops of her muzzle too, but it never reaches her dark nose where some white wraps around it. A hint of a rather dull tan can be seen in the facemask as well, but more so under her eyes and on the top of her muzzle than anywhere else. This tan, unlike the gray, does reach her chilling black nose – even if the white mostly overpowers it. Her ears take on the same shade of gray-tan mix as the rest of her body does. The eyes of this female are oddly stunning, despite their pretty dull complection. They are a stormy gray in color, akin to a brighter shade as to what is seen on her facemask. And they can be just as vicious as one.

The hide of this wolf is completely riddled with scar after scar after scar. Truthfully, there is no place on her body that does not have at least one scar on it – even if it is covered with fur. But this, of course, is not without reason. A disgraceful punishment this was, one not light in the slightest and deserving for her sins. And it shows. Her fur is now matter or missing, marks remain violent in color despite the years of patient healing, and a noticeable change has occurred in her physical build and movement. It is impossible for newcomers not to question what crime led to such a severe punishment, but she is generally not willing to tell the whole tale. While absolutely coated in scars, there are – surprisingly – a few that stick out. A slash over her muzzle is one such marking, albeit a rather light one compared to the others. Her ears, however, are a different story – with one (the right one) having been torn up while the other, left, ear cannot even stand on its own without immense concentration and will power. It is often seen just flopping along with her movements, minus the base of it which remains upright. Bite marks all but decorate her lower back and haunches, as though someone had decimated her lower half to ensure she would never have strength back there again. A deformed leg is a testament to this, located on her back right side. It healed improperly after she was punished, causing a heavy limp to form. There is no hope in ever completely recovering from this wound.

Anja’s voice is one of haunting stature, fit for a dark and misty atmosphere where only the bravest of dumb souls go. It is eerie in nature, almost sounding like a hushed voice coming from the darkness of the woods – void of emotion yet alluring all the same. It sounds completely and unusually calm, but nothing short of unsettling. Even if it draws the curious or naive in. An almost permanent sort of derangement can be heard from within her words if one listens close enough, but it can easily be masked by her usual calm and unsettling side. The pitch of her voice is in the medium range with some rather raspy elements to it. It is as though her voice was damaged during the conflict she had with the Empress. Despite this, however, it has managed to keep a sort of feminine charm one would not expect from a killer such as she. A false sense of security, if you will. One that is hard to decipher if one does not know of her history.

The female looks down at the wolves standing before her, eyes set ablaze with confidence and face displaying a look of seriousness. She sets a paw forward, lifting her head up high, and begins to speak, “A pack is made of a group of individuals, all with unique skills. These individuals work together in order to form a well oiled machine, and they must put their all into the machine in order to keep it running. ‘Else it crumbles under their own desires and selfish wishes for something greater.”

A maniacal laugh rumbles from her hunched form, shaking her entire body – her head cast downward and her ears shaking from the movements. Suddenly, her head snaps up and her chilling gaze – filled with mania and glee, drenched in malice and illentent – lands upon your own. There was no wolf left in her. She was nothing more than a monster, now. A devil.“Oh, my dear, sweet child. Is that what you really think of me? You give me too much credit.”

Lumi – Ah, her own flesh and blood. The spitting image of her from her younger years. Personality wise, anyway. Honestly, she truly wishes to get closer to her daughter and provide some… tips if you will. Maybe even bond over their previous similarities? Who knows. All Anja knows is that her wintery offspring is very skilled in battle which could land her a rather high position. One that could… bring her close to the Empress. (“Yes, yes. That… would be splendid.”)

Chione – {Words}

Affiliations:

[Spell’s Empress] – The one standing in the way of her throne.

Tyr – Naturally, she hates him. He is the mate of that abhorrent Empress, after all. She just wishes she had managed to kill him along with the pups…

Other:

- Back in her prime, Anja was one of the physically strongest wolves in the pack. Now, she’s just a hobbling sack of bones and hide. Her physical prowess has all but left her, even if she still carries great strength in those bones.

- Yeah, she is in no way allowed to watch after any pups. Including those that may be from her own children.

I miss my watermelon garden. Stupid deer jumping the six foot fence. ;-;
