Atticus stood, yawning widely. The sun had passed by now, shining into the cave from the very top. "Haha, never again. I don't know what went through my head then, honestly. We need to do something, though. As much as I'd love to live here for eternity, our families will tear each other apart. Hell, I don't even know who's in charge of my entire clan." Atticus's tan skin shone an almost bronze with the dwindling minutes of golden hour, Adelais regarding Charlie with a judging gaze at her actions, almost in amusement.

"We.. We can't even leave, nevermind stroll into our homesteads with animals thought to be extinct for centuries. I don't know what to do, Charlie. I respect you, and I can even say I've grown fonder of you. But what happens when we return? What do we do in the future?" Atticus sounded drained, he didn't want to put any pressure on Charlie at all but his options were running thin.

"I think my mother may be in my place now. I believe I'm presumed dead, but I want to show them how amazing dragons can be. I don't want them as war tools just to further the feud between us, you know? Now Adelais here may not be the best specimen, but he can teach them so much about peace." Atticus gave his dragon a loving pat, who fluttered his nostrils at the motion passively. "I really like what we have done, it's been a few days of suffering, but if it's happening with you it's not all that bad." Atticus half-smiled, turning to the dragon beside him. "So, what do you say, Charlie? We can make it back in under half the time it took us to get here, if we can ever find our way back. I'll follow and respect your decision no matter where it leads us." Rubbing the tough scaling on the side of his dragon to get a splash of dried mud off, Atticus awaited her voice on the matter.

Charlie bowed her head, thinking of what to do, a shadow casted over her face. She couldn’t let his clan destroy these beautiful creatures, she wasn’t even sure if her father would like them, though he did talk highly of them saying all positive things but peoples minds can change. Charlie looked up at atticus, her hazel eyes meeting his green ones "maybe we take our dragons to your clan, we show them that they mean no harm, then if everything goes right then we go to mine" charlie said, all her happiness going into a serious manner. Charlie leaned on ezra. Ezra not caring. "if it goes wrong we free our dragons and they go back to their home, your people cant see over the clouds and that’s where the dragons will go if your people start attacking" charlie says positively. Charlie couldn't think of what would happen to ezra or adelais if Atticus's clan decided to attack them, she could careless about herself it was the dragons she was worried about. Charlie looked at ezra with pain in her eyes, ezra gave charlie a little huff then purred softly, ezra went to adelais's side trying to communicate with him. Charlie watched ezra then looked at atticus. Charlie turned on her heels and looked at all the dragons, thinking of what dangers could happen to them. Charlie turned back around to atticus, "we will leave tomorrow, let them rest up and eat and we can go to the river and wash up" charlie said, her smile slowly coming back. Everything was changing, dragons are real, shes acquainted with the enemy's clan, she doesn’t know if her father will like the dragons. "I honestly don’t know if my chief will like the dragons" charlie looked over at ezra then sighed "and im scared for our dragons but we need to figure out if our clans will be ok with the dragons and not use them for wars" charlie said feeling so uneased. "i would never forgive myself if out dragons, or other dragons died because of us" she walked a few steps closer to atticus "you can get washed up first" she said with a gentle voice, hoping she wouldnt break down in front of him.

Adelais looked down at the smaller dragon that had went over to him. He had a little trouble identifying what species she was, so he cautiously sniffed in her general direction. Snout wrinkling, Adelais took off, diving over the cliff and off into the direction of the sea in the cave.

Atticus gave his dragon a weird look, before turning back to Charlie. "Hey, maybe you're right. Better sort out the negative and then bring the news to the positive. I just hope it'll go better than what I can imagine." Standing up, Atticus sought out the entrance to the cave. Upon finding it, he cast a glance back at the constantly moving sea of dragons, adults and hatchlings alike. Knowing that Adelais would meet him outside, Atticus picked his way through the way Charlie came. It was far more preferable than the way he had come in, that's for certain.

Entering the cave once more, Atticus gathered all of his belongings that he could find. The stalactites hung menacingly over him, like a jaw moments away from snapping shut and swallowing him whole. The light was minimal, leaving every surface a dull dark blue in colour. Atticus looked around, finally finding his jacket and sliding it on before waiting for Charlie. He had a lot on his mind but not a lot to really think about; none of it were outcomes he could personally control. Their reactions were not his choice.

Being overthrown and tortured into revealing the whereabouts of the dragons was probably the worst outcome, being banished just inches behind. The wineskin Atticus had packed was completely empty, not a single drop left to his disappointment. There wasn't really anywhere else to refill it was the answer he soothed the gnawing thirst and hunger with. Hunger. They hadn't eaten in days, and it was really wearing him down. Berries and the odd squirrel were barely mouthfuls. Perhaps they could hunt on the way back? It would either be a lot easier or harder with a gigantic flamethrower.

Charlie watched atticus leave the dragons then turn back to look at them. Charlie went to ezra and patted her "whatever happens, just know that I love you, kay?" charlie said to ezra there foreheads together, ezra purred in understanding. Charlie followed atticus through the cave. Ezra followed after charlie. Charlie looked for anything that would be useful, nothing really. Charlies stomach growled, not really caring, she could wait until she got back to her tribe. 'what would father do if I brought home a dragon and the enemies chief' charlie looked at atticus, 'I would have to protect him' charlie nodded to herself knowing what to do when the time came. Ezra goes the entrance of the cave ready to leave. Charlie snapped from her thoughts and went to get her jacket, putting it on, it was warm, she looked over at the fire surprised that I was still kind of going, charlie would be back, she knew she'd be back charlie got onto ezra, everything was quiet except for the wind that kept blowing, it wasn’t as cold now as it was when they started this journey. No one talked, just listening to ezras breathing and the wind. Charlie looked back at atticus then took off, the wind blowing, charlie felt free. Ezra flew up above the clouds so no one could see. Ezra flew in circles, she did loops, and other tricks. They were waiting for atticus and Adelais. Charlie hugged ezra tightly not wanting to let her go. The only thing charlie was scared of was leaving ezra. Then she got to thinking 'would she ever see atticus again when this was over?' charlies heart started to pound, she thought it would be ok to leave atticus, but the past days, she saw how he could be and it attracted her to him, she wanted to be with atticus. Charlie pushed down the feelings and focused on the mission. charlie had no idea what his tribe would do. woukd they like the dragons and everything would be ok? or would they kill the dragons and hurt both atticus and her? whatever the outcomes were charlie was ready.
