Persephone thoroughly enjoyed being in the water, even if someone thought she died with how much of a fall it truly is. She floated on her back, her arms spread out as she gazed up at the light blue sky. She found it refreshing being in the lukewarm water, glad that it isn't too chilly or too warm. Though, she would prefer if it were a bit colder. She liked it when the cooler weather came around, especially the winter. Of course, she doesn't stay there long because her mother moves somewhere else that is warmer. Neither can do much when it is cold and the ground is frozen over.

She flipped over, dipping under the water and swimming a few feet before breaking to the surface. At hearing her name being called from above her, she glanced up, seeing Hades slightly peering over the edge of the cliff. A bright grin appeared on her lips, happy that he finally came after being away for a week. She thought he was never going to be coming back, but here he is proving her wrong. Seems her mother is wrong about men. Then again, she doesn't know Hades very well to see if he would truly ghost her for no reason.

"Hades!" She greeted in an excited manner as if she hasn't seen him in months. She listened to what he said, a soft laugh leaving her lips. She would be worried too if she heard someone scream. "I am fine. It just slipped out. I will be right up. Give me a few minutes." She called out before she turned to swim towards the nearest shore. Once she reached it, she pulled her dripping hair over her shoulder, squeezing the access water out as she walked barefoot towards the cliff.

She felt like she was taking forever getting there, so she started to run, not wanting to keep Hades waiting for long. Once she arrived a few feet from Hades and the horses, a grin once again appeared on her lips. She didn't really think about what she is wearing in front of him since she does this sometimes when she goes swimming with some of the maids and her mother in a pond near the field of flowers. Also, she isn't used to being around men, so she wouldn't see anything wrong with this until someone said something or pointed out what she is wearing in front of them.

"I never thought you would actually come back." She muttered as she went over to his stallion. She grinned as she gently rubbed his muzzle. "I also see you brought one of the stallions." She added as she let her hand then slither up his cheek and then to his neck. She gave the stallion a couple of pats on the neck before another idea popped into her head. She has a feeling that Hades won't enjoy what she will have to say, but, she is going to ask him regardless. If he says no, she won't be disappointed as she will be doing it regardless if he will join her or not.

She moved away from the stallion, gently running her hand against the mare's side as she walked towards Hades. Once she got close to him, she reached out and grabbed his hand without really thinking. She took a few steps closer towards him, standing up on her tippy toes and leaning towards him slightly as if she is going to be sharing a secret with him. "Jump with me." She said before she pulled completely away from him, her hand slipping from his. She grinned as she turned around, walking towards the edge of the cliff and peering over the side as she did earlier.

She turned around facing him, her hands behind her back. "It is so much fun. Then again, I heard you aren't one who likes to do things that are fun." She gave him a wink before she let her body fall backward. She let another soft scream leave her lips, enjoying the rush that she is having from this. She hit the water, moving her arms around as she broke to the surface. She peered up at the cliff, a grin on her lips. "Come on, Hades!" She called, seeing if he would truly come down here or not.

Hades had moved back away from the edge, so he missed her gleeful smile. He heard her excited voice, and he felt weird not looking at her, when he was talking to her. He edged back over again, so he could see her. She could tell him to back away if she didn't like it. He heard her soft laugh, and he was glad that she was okay. She was swimming toward the shore, so he backed away to wait for her to come. It felt like she was taking a while, but it was a tall cliff, and she might encounter plenty of obstacles.

He wondered if he should bring her clothes down to her. He heard the sound of a fast pace, and he was surprised to see her running toward him. Their visit hadn't been so enrapturing for her to be this excited to see him. Perhaps the uncertainty and increased her wish to see him. She appeared to be very enthusiastic about everything. He gave her a small smile, because she was so happy to see him. She didn't seem bothered at all about not wearing much clothing, so he tried not to make things awkward by acting awkward. At least any more awkward than normal.

"I'm sorry I left in such a hurry last time. I didn't want your mother to be mad at me, and I didn't know if you were okay with me dashing you off to the beach," he apologized. He wasn't sure if he was supposed to respond to her comment. He hadn't been sure if he would see her again, but here he was. He gave a slightly larger smile, "Yeah, I saw that you liked horses, and I wanted a ride, so I only brought one. When did you get this horse?" he indicated Moon.

She was stroking his horse, but then she started heading toward him. He stayed very still watching her with a slight wary gaze in his eye. He stayed still so that there were no positive or negative movements. What did she want? What was she doing? She grabbed his hand, and he stiffened for a moment not expecting the contact. She leaned in, and then she told him to jump with her. He froze trying to decide. The clothing he was wearing was not good for swimming, but he didn't feel like going around in his birthday clothing.

He also wasn't overly fond of water. However, he could feel peer pressure beginning to work at him. He didn't want to disappoint her. He didn’t find this fun. He shrugged off the annoyance he felt when she said he didn’t like doing fun things. It was true as far as he could think off the top of his head. He heard her hit the water. Now that he was alone, he found it easier to strip down to his underwear without her watching. He found himself nervous, which annoyed him. It wasn’t in his comfort zone, and he was now exposed.

After making sure his clothes were clean and safely on his horse, he contemplated if this was a good idea. He felt committed now that he had removed his clothing, but he was a little worried. What if he hit a rock at the bottom. What if he couldn't swim. Otherwise it seemed safe enough. Persephone had done it twice. He could see himself getting hurt. It might be because he was so nervous or he was a bit incompetent outside of the Underworld. If someone came around, he was willing to kill them. Artemis had turned someone into a deer.

He didn't want people spreading the word about this. It would be bad enough if the other gods heard about it much less a mortal. This was another moment, when he might lose other people's respect. After he reminded himself that Persephone had done it twice, he took a bit of a running start so he could jump into the water. He soared and then he hit the water with a splash. While the water was displaced upward, he began to go down. Once he reached the water, he tried to swim upward to counteract the downward motion.

He didn't want to his rock bottom and hurt something. Soon his head breached the surface, and he shook his head swinging water. He rubbed the water out of his eyes and looked at Persephone for approval. He began to tread water relieved that he hadn't forgotten how to swim. He hadn't drowned. He decided now that he was here, he might as well try to act like other people. He splashed Persephone and started swiming away with large powerful strokes. Even a goddess like Persephone, he believed mortals would be surprised to see them swimming around in water. "That wasn't fun," he deadpanned.

Persephone shrugged her shoulders when he apologized for leaving in a hurry the last time they met up. She didn't mind, but it did kind of bother in a way. "I mean, I still did get a lecture, which is no surprise there." She murmured as she reached up and pulled some hair over her shoulder and started to run her fingers through it. "Oh, come one Hades, I would've loved if you dash off on her and brought me to the beach. That is one of the few places I have been wanting to see for a while. Regardless, no need to apologize, alright? I am not mad." She said, giving him a soft smile to show that she truly means it.

She turned towards Moon when he asked her about the mare. She grinned as she bounded towards the mare, her hand gently stroking her neck. "Not long after your visit." She said, her gaze flickering over towards Hades. "I finally convinced mother to get me one after years of pestering her about it. I guess I can be persuasive when I want to be." She said, a soft chuckle leaving her lips at that. She could be persuasive if she wanted to, but most of the time, she follows what people tell her without question. It is just how she is.

She glanced up from her spot in the water at the sight of a shadow above her. At seeing Hades soaring through the sky, she couldn't help the shock expression appear on her face. She never thought that the God of the Underworld would actually be pressured in joining her down here. She kind of felt bad as she wasn't pressuring him in doing anything. Well, she didn't think she was. She just made a comment, but it seemed that he wanted to prove her wrong.

She had to quickly swim out of the way before Hades hit the water and land on top of her in the process. A laugh left her lips as droplets of water from him hitting the water splashed on her face. This is way too much fun. She might just have to bring Hermes here with her when he comes and visits her. She is sure that the God will enjoy it considering they are friends and all. At least he is the only one that her mother approves of by being down here with her. It surprised her, but she didn't question it.

She gasped when he splashed water towards her like she is offended at what he did. "Hades, did you seriously just splash me?" She asked, seeming to be angry at him. Truly, she isn't. She is just messing with him, something she does when she tends to be comfortable around someone. She then broke out into a smile, not able to keep her serious face any longer. "I am kidding." She quickly splashed him back before he started to swim away. He might not enjoy her teasing him, but she couldn't help it nor does she regret it one bit. Now, if he got angry, that would be a different story.

At hearing his comment, she couldn't help but laugh at him. She swam towards him, flicking some water in his face. "I don't understand how you don't think that is fun." She swam towards the shore, pulling her hair over her shoulder and ringing it out as she exited out of the lake. She turned around, facing him with a grin on her lips. "I would say, let's go again, but I know you won't appreciate it." She said softly, knowing that he only came down because of her. If it was anyone else, she is sure that he wouldn't be jumping off the cliff with them.

"I want to apologize though." She said, her smile fading from her face. She shifted her weight to her other leg to be a bit more comfortable as she stood before him practically half-naked. It hit her that she shouldn't be wearing something like this in front of a man, let alone someone she barely knows and isn't her husband. She quickly glanced away, biting her bottom lip as a faint blush seemed to appear on her cheeks. How embarrassing that she didn't seem to notice this until now.

She let a whistle leave her lips, knowing that Moon will arrive soon so that she can put her sundress back on. "I am sure you didn't want to jump off the cliff. If you felt peer pressured to do so, I apologize. I didn't mean for it to come off that way." She murmured, looking down and kicking the sand like it is going to make her feel better.

[Sorry it took so long. I have been busy with a side job until I start at the hospital.]

Hades stood before her with his grim silent demeanor. He studied her for a moment trying to gauge if coming here had been a bad idea. It didn't seem like a bad one or necessarily a good one. At least she wasn't trying to chase him off. He cocked his head at her surprised. She would have been willing for him to cart her off to the beach? How had she not been there before? She was a goddess and she had to have some sort of power right? He hadn't thought it would be a good idea.

"Uh...I didn't know. I'm sorry. I didn't know what you wanted or what you are like," he aplogized while throwing in an excuse. He gave a hesitant smile realizing that he hadn't had to aplogize again. "I'll keep it in mind for the future," he sort of said with a questioning tone as if he wanted her approval. He didn't want to do anything wtihout her consent. He tried to be a decent person. His uneasy appearance changed to a smirk, when she said that she had been nagging for a horse for a long time.

"I suppose you can be pursuasive," he agreed with her without too much emotion. After a few emphatic head nods, he froze for a moment, when she ran off into the water. For a moment his jaw dropped as he watched her. She moved so quickly, and he never knew or could predict what she was planning to do next. He knew he didn't want to stand up there waiting for her by himself. His horse shied a little, when he put his clothes on his back. He thought it was because he didn't want anything on him, however, the horse smelled a bear nearby and wanted to warn Hades.

He didn't know what else to do, but follow her over the edge. It felt very exposing, and he was definitely out of his element. The breeze soared up, and made him even more uncomfortable. Luckily, he was badly exposed only for a few seconds, because the water was hard to see things in. His clothing started floating upward, as he tried to keep it down. He watched as she swam away, so he didn't fall onto her. He should have made sure that she had gotten out of the way before he made the jump. He was a little nervous, when she gasped. What had he done wrong?

She seemed like the type of person who would have enjoyed this. He relaxed a little while he tread water, when she gave a smile. Inwardly, he smiled glad that he, the socially awkward ruler of the underworld, was able to make her laugh. He didn't think he was able to do that anymore. He wasn't overly fond of being teased. He was the god of the underworld. He had certain standards and people had expectations that he felt that he needed to fill. It was even harder to maintain his normal dignity when he wasn't wearing much.

He never did this in front of people. At least she was only one person. He didn't say anything, since he wasn't sure how to respond. This wasn't up his ally. He sighed, "I really don't want to do that again." He was hoping she wouldn't ask. he wans't sure what he would do. He started swimming after her, because he wasn't staying in the water by himself. He felt weird following her around, but he certainly didn't come here for his enjoyment. If she wanted him to leave, he would.

Otherwise, he was going to stay pretty close to her. Once they were out of the water, he stopped a ways away from her. He cocked his head as she said the word apologize. For what? He looked down at himself hoping he was adequately covered. Demeter would kill him if she made some assumptions. His gaze darted up from surveying his own self and noticed her red cheeks. He felt that it would only be more awkward if they had had chaperones.

While most of the goddesses were pretty free with what they wore, other than Aphrodite, he had never seen someone that exposed. It was definitely considered improper, and he could be court marshaled if Demeter found him and took it to Olympus. Hades might be able to hide out in the underworld, but Hades wouldn't want to hide. He felt something change between them. Previously, it was like she hadn't noticed. Now, it felt like they were both aware. He tried not to look at her too much.

He didn't want to seem rude, but she could take it badly both ways. He shrugged at her apology, "It's okay. You didn't make me. It's not like you black mailed me," he pointed out not sure if this was a very good acceptance of her apology. He heard horses hooves clopping, and his gaze raised to see what was approaching. His eyes widened, as he noticed a large bear trundling along behind the horse. He was wearing very little articles of clothing, so he didn't want to go running off through the forest. Perhaps his stallion could save them. It looked like it was trying to stalk the mare. What should they do?

(One of the horses could get eaten or one of the horses could save them or they could go running off into the woods?)

Even though Hades did make a point about her not blackmailing him, Persephone still felt bad. He clearly didn't enjoy the running off of the cliff and jumping into the water as she did. Granted, he is so much older than her and has much more experience than her in many things. He probably already has done his fair share in things that he wanted to do and now, he might just be doing things just because he feels like he has to because of what the other party might be doing. If she has to be honest, she would feel the same way if she were in his shoes right now. Even though he did say that everything between them and what was said is okay, she didn't feel the least bit better. It made her feel worse the more that she thought about it, yet she didn't show it to avoid making Hades' question her and feel bad about her thought process on how she overthinks things a majority of the time.

She ran a hand through her damp hair, her fingers brushing out the knots in it. She let a sigh leave her lips, biting her bottom lip as she contemplated what she is going to say to the God of the Underworld. Finally, once she found out what she wanted to say, she opened her mouth. "You see, Hades..." She trailed off, not because she forgot what she was going to say, but at the sound that is coming from behind her. She couldn't help but furrow her brows together in confusion as she looked at Hades, wondering what is going on. At seeing his eyes widen in perhaps surprise or shock or even both, it only caused concern to course through her body.

She quickly turned around, forgetting about the conversation at hand as she is more worried about what is going on behind her rather than something that can be dealt with later if brought up again. At seeing a bear clearly stalking Moon, her eyes widen in fear. All she could do is watch, seeming to be glued to the spot. She wanted to scream to try and turn the bear's attention away from the mare, even if it's attention is placed onto her. No matter how much she tried to open her mouth and scream, it didn't happen. Her mouth felt like it is sandpaper and her throat was constricting in a way that it is making it difficult for her to breathe properly. Even with trying to take in deep breaths, she still seemed to struggle to get enough air into her lungs.

Just as the bear pounced onto the mare, a bloodcurdling scream erupted from her lips. All she could do was collapse to the ground with her hands covering her mouth, her eyes watering up with tears at watching the sight of her beloved mare getting tackled to the ground by the bear. The bear's teeth sank into the withers just along the spine just seconds after bringing the equestrian down with its weight. It clearly got it just right as only seconds later did the mare stop struggling. A choked sob left her lips, which only seemed to have the bear's attention turn onto her. She knew she couldn't do much against a carnivore as strong, hungry, and so much larger than her, so she did the only thing she could possibly do.

She sprung to her feet, and without even asking permission or telling Hades what she is going to do, she grasped his hand. She tugged on his hand, having him follow her to a place where they could at least get away from the hungry carnivore that ended up killing one of the precious things close to her. She ran full speed, her hand still clasped in Hade's hand, yet she tugged on it every now and then for him to keep up with her. As much as she wanted to teach the bear a lesson about killing her mare, she knew she would be dead seconds later if she even did such a thing.

After minutes of running through the forest in nothing but her undergarments, she came to a stop. She breathed heavily, her free hand running through her hair anxiously as her eyes darted behind them. At seeing nothing following them at this time, she knew that they should be safe... well, for now. She just hopes that her mother didn't hear her scream or she had a feeling that she would be very displeased at seeing how both of them are dressed. Granted, she was about to put her clothes back on until that damn bear attacked her mare. She had good intentions until something had to ruin everything.

She turned towards Hades, though she hadn't realized that her hand is still securely holding onto his for dear life as if the bear is going to take him next or something. Her brows are furrowed together and she clearly had a distressed look on her face as well as tears starting to well up in her eyes once more. "Hades, I..." She didn't even know what to say before she ended up bursting into tears. Without thinking, once again, she buried her face into his bare chest and just sobbed. It probably isn't a good idea with how they are dressed and the fact that he might not like her being this close, but that hadn't crossed her mind when she ended up doing this. She just needed someone to comfort her and he was the closest person, even if she had a feeling that he will have no clue on what to do.

[About time, huh? lol. I did end up doing two options, just because i also wanted to see Hades ruin through the woods in his tidy-whities XD]

Hades glanced up at the trees. Light barely managed to sundapple the forest floor. It explained some of the weird lighting and the coolness in the shade. The limbs were softly swaying as a cool breeze blew off of the water. He was nervous and goosebumps were rising on his arms. He was frowning and trying to refrain from crossing his arms. However, if he crossed his arms, he had been told that he would look intimdating. While it would have made him feel a little more covered, secure, and warm, he didn't believe it was a smart idea. Obviously, he hadn't particularly enjoyed the activities that she seemed to prefer. He figured that he had lived long enough by now that he would have a pretty good idea of what he wanted to do and what he disliked doing.

He hadn't come here to scare her off or annoy her. It was best to go along with waht she wanted. Easily, he knew what list this would have fallen on, even though he didn't hate it enough to not be willingly pressured into it. He wasn't sure if it was bad, but he was mildly impressed by her. Many times he had been told that he was impassive and hard to read, yet Persephone didn't seem to be having any real trouble, especially, since they didn't know each other well. However, Hades himself was oblivious. He didn't realize how badly she was feeling. He didn't spend a lot of time with his equals, and he had a hard time reading the variety of emotions that he encountered. He sort of cocked his head, when she began to talk, however, something distracted him.

It was easy to guess what the bear was desiring to accomplish, and Hades didn't see a way to stop it. He couldn’t find anything to say. He doubted trying to warn the horse would help at this point, and would probably only make them more of a primary target. He hoped she wasn't foolish enough to attract the bear's attention. Their only possibility of surviving was to get out of the bear's reach. The bear pulled the equine over. If it weren’t so savage and frightening, it might have been amazing to watch. He heard Persephone’s loud shriek and he closed his eyes briefly. It was tempting to try to plug his ears, but the worst was probably over. He may want to be able to hear well in the near future. He was sure that would attract the bear, as it looked up from its kill. You would imagine that a bear wouldn’t want to go around hunting more creatures, once it got its main prey.

However, Hades was afraid this bear felt threatened. For all Hades knew it could have interpreted the shriek as a challenge. They were done for, and he had no place to hide them, which would be safe. He felt absolutely clueless and helpless. The only way he knew to become helpful was to let them do their job. He could hear the bear tearing into the innocent equine. There was no possibility of her surviving or being saved. He flinched backwards an inch, when she flew to her feet. He was nervous and startled, when she grabbed his hand. He wasn't sure if they were trying to escape or what? He only knew that he could not leave her to face the bear and her horselessness by herself. He hoped that his own stallion was smart enough to run and not wait around to be hunted. Should he call his stallion over to help?

Persephone managed to cut such a pace, that sometimes, she tugged on his hand to go faster. It was awkward trying to speed through the undergrowth. Many unknown plants and other creatures touched on the skin, and he had no idea if any of them were potent. He hoped that there wasn't a rash growing. It would be awkward walking around among those who were dead, trying to scratch a horrible rash. He would never live it down. He didn't know many people who could teach the bear a lesson. He was beginning to feel fond of Persephone. Perhaps if he managed to remain on her goodside, he would look around for Artemis the goddess of the hunt. She would be able to take care of the bear with relative ease.

Now that he felt a little safer, he prayed that Demeter didn't come running and catch them standing here. He was glancing around guiltily for the bear or Demeter. His head did a 180, when Persephone began to talk. He could tell she was beginning to get upset. He raised his hand that was still enclosed in hers slightly, and realized how tightly she was holding on. She seemed to be about to say something, when she burst into tears. He flinched a little, when she buried her face in his chest. While he would have felt awkward with the acceptable layer of clothes or without, he felt like he was somehow taking advantage of her feelings with her pressed this close to him. He gently patted her back, but he didn't know what to say. He wasn't sure how much comforting he should do, how to do it, or how much was appropriate. His eyes widened, when he realized that his older sister Demeter was staring down at him.

She would hardly be pleased that her younger brother had decided to hang out with her daughter. "Hey Demeter," he sort of timidly acknowledged her presence. He didn't have the sense to back away from Persephone. Would Persephone be better at managing her mother? "I...This isn't what it looks like. A bear chased us," he desperately garbled for words. "Please don't hurt me," he meekly finished wondering when the god of the underworld had become so pitiful. He cast a glance towards Persephone. She seemed to be bolder and more eloquent with words.

For some odd reason, Persephone felt safe with Hades. Even though he had no idea what he should be doing with how she is reacting, just the gentle pats on her back soothed her down. After a few minutes, only sniffs are heard from her, yet she stayed tucked up against his chest. She took a shaky breath in before she pulled away from him slightly and looked up at him. She saw how his eyes are widened, causing her to raise her brown in questioning. Did she do something wrong to where he has that look on his face that has been frozen since she buried herself against his chest? Then again, it seemed like he had the look of fear in his eyes, causing her whole body to tense.

The bear must've come back or something far worse is behind her. She spun around, her hand slipping away from Hades in case she had to do something to protect herself. She glanced around until her gaze settled onto the familiar woman standing on top of a boulder with her arms over her chest and an angry scowl on her face. She cringed slightly at the sight of her mother, quickly looking away and down at the ground to avoid her disapproving gaze. And here she thought she was going to get away with the thought of her mother not knowing about her little secret about seeing Hades a few times, and perhaps more, in private and from wandering eyes. Then again, she should've known that she would've gotten caught eventually even if it might've been months later or even years.

She listened to Hades speaks, her brow raising in slight amusement with how Hades stumbled over his words and seemed so vulnerable under her mother's gaze. He even told Demeter to not hurt him, which only caused a small smirk to appear on her lips, yet no one could see it with her head bowed and her hair covering her face. She definitely has an idea and she knows that both of them aren't going to like her afterward for it. She knows that Hades won't appreciate it, but that isn't going to stop her from saying or doing anything about it. Even though Hades is correct about what he said, she is going to have a bit of fun.

"Mother, I am so glad you are here!" She said as she finally looked up to Demeter with tears in her eyes. She pulled her bottom lip into her mouth to prevent herself from smirking, so she made it seem like she is pouting in a way. She rushed over to Demeter as soon as she came down from the boulder and clutched her mother close to her. "Hades is correct in saying that, but he is wrong in some parts." She said as she slowly pulled away from her mother. "The bear ended up not chasing us as it was too busy feasting on Moon." Granted, it was really hard for her to say that the bear is feasting on her horse that she just got. "He actually saw a snake and grabbed my hand before running away, saying that it reminded him of you. So, we ran while he kept muttering nonsense about how the snake could actually be you and how you could change at any moment. Granted, I feel like he might be right since you are standing before us now." She mumbled with her hand on her chin in thought. She found this made-up story hilarious, but she had to hold her laughter in for just a bit longer.

"That doesn't explain why you both are practically naked and doing who knows what." Demeter said as she narrowed her eyes in Hades' direction. "Oh, I was swimming and I pursued him to join me. We were about to get dressed before Moon got attacked and Hades started to run away for dear life at seeing that snake." She said nonchalantly as she shrugged her shoulders like it wasn't a big deal. She honestly had a lot of fun today, minus Moon getting killed. She even found this story amusing and can't wait to see what is about to unfold before her eyes. She watched her mother sigh before shaking her head. "I believe you, darling." She said, tucking a stray strand of Persephone's damp hair behind her ear. Though, her gaze seems to go hard again before pinning them on Hades, her displeased look appearing on her face once more. "It's Hades that I don't believe. He is going to come to our house and explain what he was going through his head when he thought it was a good idea to join you when you are half-naked, even if it was just to go swimming and you invited him to come down." Yikes, this might not go well.

[Eh, I don't know about this.]

Hades was relieved, when her crying abated. There would be a forseeable end to her tears, which couldn't be too soon. The nice thing about being king of the underworld meant that no normal person dared cry in front of him. When he was seen, apparently, he was frightening enough for them to become completely silent. His grim face discouraged any unnecessary chatter, which was often a relief. After a moment, he began to think about entwining his fingers in her bedraggled hair instead of merely patting her on the back. His eyes widened a little as he realized that he was beginning to enjoy holding her against him. How unusual!

Close contact normally made him feel uncomfortable. He did have to add in his head that dead spirits were hardly fair to measure by. It was a new experience holding someone protectively against him, and she was willing to boot. This wasn't something he had to manipulate her into like some of the other gods might have attempted. Her sobs had ebbed to sniffs, and he was beginning to be a little reluctant about letting her go. She had pulled away from him slightly, but he hadn't noticed. His attention was elsewhere.

He couldn't let go of Persephone soon enough under his sister's gaze. Even though he had been raised in his grandfather's stomach, Demeter still held power over him as his older sister. It was becoming apparent that this was even worse than if he had flirted with some other young goddess. Perhaps he should have left goddesses alone and be content with a nymph. While the goddesses might be numerous, if he hung out with one of them, he was sure to start some sort of war with their companion. She spun around, and he paid no attention to her moving further from his grasp.

All previous thoughts that had been entertained vanished with the flood of adrenaline and fear. While some foolish mortals might consider the bear worst, as an immortal, Hades had different ideas on the subject. Even bold Persephone was cowering also. He was a little embarrassed that she was cringing less. He supposed that Demeter would be more loving and understanding toward her, even if she did think she deserved a punishment. He on the other hand was considered a conniving fiend that must be taken care of. Even though they were related, he would get no mercy.

Demeter certainly wasn't larger than Hades, so it must have been comical watching him nearly groveling at his sister's feet. Hades darted a guilty startled look at Persephone. She was glad that Demeter was here? Unusual. He lost some of his cowering stance, so that he could look at Persephone and see where she was going with this. It was totally unexpected, and he wondered if she would be trying to give him any hints. He was even more confused by the tears in her eyes. He had been sure that she had been wrapping up her crying.

He watched the following scene unfold, and was astonished, that she so boldly put herself in her mother's embrace. He was even more confused when she mentioned a snake. He had a feeling this tale was a falsehood, so he needed to pay attention just in case he had to back her up. He felt guilty that he hadn't been able to save her horse. After all a mere bear couldn't kill them, right?

He almost closed his eyes and winced, when Demeter bit into the heart of the matter. At this point, he knew that Persephone was gifted with ehr manipulative tongue. However, she was going to have a hard time talking her out of this part. Demeter was sure to know this was unsual behavior for Hades, so she would be even more suspicious. It took something special for Hades to do this, while any of the other gods wouldn't have thought twice. He could tell that his end was drawing near. He doubted anything would satisfy. Demeter at this point.

Why was Persephone so cheerful and bold? Didn't everyone always like that type of personality? Why couldn't he be more like that? It reminded him of his brother Zeus who had gotten the king of the gods even though he was the youngest. Sometimes Hades considered that Zeus might have messed with the way they had drawn for positions. His kingdom fit his personality, so he didn't find it worth arguing. At least he would be away from the other annoying gods and there drama. No one wanted to get Hades involved. Normally, he was the big scary man on campus, however, his sister was scarier.

If he were safely alone, he might have laughed, however, being half naked in front of one's sister, when he felt sort of guilty, never did anything for anyone's self confidence. He had a hard time hiding his surprise. With that Demeter believed her? He hide a frown with his normally grim face. Uh oh. He was in trouble now.

His mind was furiously racing for a good story. A little feebly, he managed to speak, "Could we...could we go back and get my stallion and clothes?" He really didn't have a good explanation. The truth was he had a crush on Persephone, and he didn't want to say no to her. He doubted that would reassure Demeter, and he might not get to see Persephone again. Besides, what would Persephone think. He hadn't said anything to her.

He was allowed to pick up his clothing, but Demeter kept a firm hand on his horse. He noticed how carefully she kept herself in between them. After worrying, he realized tha the had no idea where their home was or where they were going. He tried to catch Persephone's eye, but Demeter was very skilled at keeping them a part. Was Persephone mad at him also?

Would he never be able to see her again? For a moment he remembered what it had been like holding her. He realized a little embarassedly that he had not gotten that close to a female like that before. No wonder he was curious to see why she made him feel the way he did. As a god he was always in good health. He had felt protective of her like he could kill a bear single handedly. Admittedly, he did have powers, so it was probably possible. His head darted up realizing they weere nearly there. He tried to cast one last look towards Persephone before he gave up.

Persephone found it highly amusing that Hades is cowering at just seeing Demeter and not having her anywhere near him. She wonders if her mother has done something to Hades to make the God of the Underworld so squirmish under just her gaze. She would've never thought that he would be able to feel fear, let alone having it be towards her mother. He always seemed confident, someone that she thought would make her mother cower in fear and not vice versa. Then again, she knows that when it comes to her, Demeter never seems to let anyone down easily and even punishes people. Hell, her mother punished Hermes for just being in close proximity of her a few times. Of course, that was before her and him became best friends and her mother got used to it and that Hermes didn't want to be in a sort of a relationship with her. Granted, she wouldn't mind seeing her mother's reaction if she brought up the topic of thinking about dating the god.

Once Demeter's attention turned towards Hades, her smile flattered. She put a hand over her mouth, trying to contain the giggles that she didn't want either of them to hear. At least her mother probably didn't hear them since she was talking to Hades. To be honest, she felt bad that she is dragging Hades into this more than he would like to be. Perhaps she should say something to try and sway her mother to change her mind. Just as she opened her mouth, her mother said that they are all going to be brought to the house and he has to explain to Demeter what happened. She quickly closed her mouth, knowing that she can't do anything now once her mother made her mind up about something. There is sometimes that rare time she can sway the woman, but she feels like this time isn't going to go her way. Seems that Hades is going to have to suffer through this.

Anyone would think that she is bold and could do anything. Honestly, she is only like that way towards her mother and when she is mostly by herself or with Hermes. Anyone else, she seems to be shy, a bit closed-off as if she is afraid of letting anyone in. In all honesty, she kind of is afraid of letting someone into her heart. That is why when her mother says to stay away from men, she listens. She doesn't want to have her heart get ripped out of her chest and have it get stomped on. She knows she wouldn't be able to deal with that, which is why she guards her heart. Though, she feels like that guard is slowly crumbling the more time she spends with Hades. She wonders what that means, making her want to explore this to see what it exactly is. She has a feeling she may know, but she rather explore it, see if she is right before pouring everything to try and give a go at it.

She raised a brow, surprised that Hades seemed to agree on coming even though he didn't have to. Then again, it is Demeter and he probably didn't have a choice in this matter. Before they continued on, Demeter seemed to have a white knee-long dress appear out of nowhere. She grabbed it from her mother, quickly slipping it on. She went to glance in Hades' direction, but her mother seemed to try and keep them apart and from trying to signal to each other. She grumbled under her breath lowly, not liking this at all. Granted, she gets why her mother is doing it, but the woman needs to be a little more carefree rather than so uptight about this situation. It isn't like they were messing around with each other in the middle of the woods.

As they walked back to the house, she would occasionally let her hand glide over the stallion's neck as well as try to sneak a glance in Hades' direction. Sadly, the latter never happened with how determined her mother is in trying to keep them so many feet apart. She has a feeling that this is her fault. If she hadn't invited Hades to come jump into the water with her, he wouldn't be in this mess with her mother. She couldn't help but bite her lip, her brows furrowing together. Then again, she enjoyed the time she had with Hades and wouldn't change anything in the world to turn back time to prevent such an event from happening. "Stopping furrowing your brows. You will get wrinkles with how much you do that." Demeter seemed to slightly snap at her, causing her to jump slightly. She quickly gave her mother an apologetic look, her gaze then casted towards the ground.

Just as they reached the house, Demeter went ahead of them. She quickly glanced over in Hades' direction and meeting his eyes. She flashed him a quick, bright smile while mouthing 'everything will be fine'. She slowly ascended the steps, glancing over her shoulder one last time at Hades before entering the house after gesturing for him to follow. She knows that he might be nervous, perhaps even scared about what will happen. She will try and prevent her mother from drilling the man so hard.

She made her way through the house, coming to the dining room and taking the seat that her mouth had pulled out for her. She sat down without a word, tucking her hair behind her ears and folding her hands together in her lap moments later. "Sit down, Hades." Demeter simply said, causing her to flinch slightly at her mother's harsh tone. "Now, explain why you thought it was a great idea to hang around my daughter." She said, her eyes narrowed, her lips set in a grim line, and her arms crossed over her chest. Persephone glanced over in Hades' direction, actually wanting to know the reason as well since not many people enjoy some of the things she likes to do or how she teases them. He takes it like a champ, even if he doesn't really appreciate it.

Hades wasn't sure if Demeter meant to give him a choice, and she appeared to be very stern. Unless he got his butt pulled before the council, he had no idea what she would say or do. While he had been keeping his eyes open for an easy escape route, from her tone, he wouldn't be slithering off anytime soon. He liked to be able to say that he had done well at his job. And it was true, there hadn't been any zombie apocalypse, so it appeared that he did an acceptable job keeping them in the Underworld. It would be curious watching everyone panic with ghosts in the above world. Sometimes, when he became bored, it was a tempting decision.

However, being brought before all of the other gods wasn't a comforting thought. Most of them were moody and unpredictable. It was hard to tell what they considered a fitting punishment. Now that he was on Demeter’s bad side, he was even more determined to stay away from the Council. If he stayed away too long, would one of the souls manage to escape? How would one retrieve someone who shouldn’t be able to come back to the realm of the living.

He felt a little better once Persephone was clothed. It had been awkward for him to begin with, because he was more chaste than most gods. Her mother would be more reasonable, if she could pretend or think that he hadn't seen anything or at the very least that he wasn’t continuing to see anything. Because he couldn't see Persephone, he was ignorant. Did she try to look at him, as much as he did? Was she acting like a child in trouble or someone who agreed with her mother? Had he overstepped? There was no way he would be able to ask her that question. He supposed that Demeter still didn't know what they had done, and he wasn’t sure what she hoped to accomplish by keeping them separated. Perhaps he had acted too guilty for their minor deed, and now he was paying for it.

Hades kept near the stallion, because he didn't want to lose him. If he got an opportunity to leave, his stallion might be the best way to escape. Would Persephone be mad at him, if he tried to leave? Thanks to Demeter, he never noticed that she had her hand on the stallion. Even if he had noticed, he wouldn't have reacted. They weren't together, and they might not even be friends. They had only spent a few days together. He had to give her her space for his own sake and because it was the polite thing to do.

Hades jumped with Persephone, when she was scolded. He thought it odd that her mother would criticize her about furrowing her brow. They were gods, immortal, they did not have to worry about such mortal things. Her mother had some high standards, and Hades had never tried to live up to them. They were too stiff and unyielding. It was quite stressful living under her eye. Hades' eyes widened, when Demeter finally moved, and he could see Persephone again.

He responded with a small hesitant smile, but he wasn’t convinced that everything would be okay. His stomach was churning in circles, and he was afraid that something serious like gagging or throwing up would occur. He was afraid of the hot water he was in, and he wasn't a big smiler. He hoped his polite smile was adequate for the situation. Since he was the god of the Underworld, he was sure she understood that he had a reptuation to keep up.

Keeping a respectful distance from them, he supposed he had to follow them into the house. Hades plopped down with a thump that was louder than it was supposed to be. It sounded petulant and rude, which he was not intending. "Sorry," he meekly whispered his apology. He wanted to melt into a puddle and hide under that chair, but it didn't want to seem like a coward. Besides, Demeter might be able to change him back, and it would simply annoy her. He cast a nervous glance towards Perephone. She really wanted him to speak in front of her? This might make it more awkward. He tried to be goofy for once, stalling for thought space. "Can't an uncle visit his niece?" he drew out knowing that it wouldn't work for long.

Demeter crossed her arms and leaned back unsatisfied. They all knew better than that. Nobody really paid attention to those kinds of relations. The glare made him want to stop, and he desperately searched for something to say. It really was too much. He didn’t think it was a good idea to say that essentially he had a crush on Persephone.

He had only seen her twice, and Demeter was right there. He shrugged trying to keep to the truth. "She's the goddess of spring. It was a relief to see something alive and thriving instead of the world I was given. She appears to be cheerful and happy. I needed that break. She turned out to be a decent person, so I hung out with her," he shrugged hoping that would content the nosy mother.

"Not many people want to socialize or be seen with me. They are afraid of me. She tolerated my presence and like many people who don't get to be with people, I hung around." Demeter started inquiring into the state of their undress. Was it dumb to say that he had undressed, because she had? Would that make Demeter furious? He hadn't wanted to stick out even though it was only two of them. It was much easier to swim without clothes.

He froze a little knowing this could set her off again, "Clothes hold you back in the water, and severely slow you down. They drain energy. While I may be immortal, I still get tired. It worked better with minimal clothing. I don't get the chance to swim, and I didn't feel like fighting some of the currents in the water." His mind was swirling with doubt, because he didn't think she could be appeased. He hoped that Persephone would be able to help him, but he wasn't sure how much he could rely on her.
