As she made her way outside, Kodak turned, not rising from his sitting position. He gave a smile, his tail swishing softly against the dirt, stirring only a little dust. Then as she got closer then expected, the smiled faded for only a second. She sat down, rather close in his opinion, especially that she was in heat. Yet she was sitting close to him anyway. At that, he silently beamed. Did that mean she was becoming close with him? He knew that there was a part in her that liked him. That had been obvious after their interactions with Ana yesterday. He knew she would like how Ana was being around him. But he had seen that protective nature arise. So there might just be a small chance. "Morning." He replied back, the smile not leaving his face, his eyes not leaving her. He turned to look towards the main camp at her question. He pondered for a bit before responding. "I think I'll go ask Kodu... Alpha, before we do anything. See where he wants the two of us at." He paused, noticing the distinguishable Ana making her way around camp, seeming to have not seen the two of them. "But hopefully I can get a good hunt in. And maybe get to know the... our, new pack." At that he rolled his shoulders, his muscles dancing with excitement. Then he turned back to Lidiya. "If that's okay with you." He added, the playful smile still on his face.

Lidiya thumped her tail in acknowledgement, silently glancing at him before looking away. No point looking at him too much - it made her feel... too much, really. "... that's probably a good plan." Lidiya finally managed to say after a second too long's delay. She kept her gaze averted as she scanned the pack. Nothing too major - she was still imprinting all their scents, but... it was one day in, and it already felt like home. Lidiya could only wonder how long it'd last once her old pack found them. Even now, she almost already identified this as "somewhat her pack" - and she didn't know how much it'd last. (Sorry it's short. My brain isn't working right now, and Lidiya doesn't have much to do.)

Kodak nodded, before walking towards the Alpha's den, wagging his tail to signal her to follow. He quickly made his way down the hill, making the path longer in order to put space between him and Ana. He looked back over his head and saw Lidiya, knowing she was following he quickened his pace alittle, nearing the den. It seemed she just got more beautiful every day. He just wished she wouldn't push him away. Maybe show if she did care about him, not only if Ana or some other interested female was nearby. He frowned, and began up the hill. Kodu was standing outside the den, over looking to pack when Kodak made his way up the hill, Lidiya stopping to Kodak's shoulder. Kodak gave a small bow, a nod of respect, and Kodu quickly let him at ease. That was when Kodak started; "Alpha, Lidiya and I were wondering if there was anything we could do for you and your pack in thanks for your hospitality." Kodu gave a small smile and seemed to think for a moment before responding. "First and foremost, I don't want any return for your stay. You're not the first and definitely not the last wolf I would let into my pack. It is how we have grown to the size we are. But, I do have a job for you. Our patroller core has been weakened. Most of our patrollers have been I'll or have passed. Nikolai and one other remain. It would be very helpful if the two of you could help or assist them in any way." He paused for a moment. "And any hunting would help as well." Kodak's tail wagged for a moment before he responded. "Thank you Alpha. We will begin on our tasks shortly." Kodu nodded in dismissal, and Kodak turned, with a smile towards Lidiya, before beginning found the hill. He looked over to Lidiya and asked, "Which one do you prefer? We could go to Nikolai or go out on a hunt. Your choice."

Lidiya silently took in the exchange between Kodak and Kodu. It wasn't that she couldn't add her opinion, but... really, she just didn't want to. She just felt slightly lethargic. Which didn't make sense, because she just woke up, after all. "I really don't mind. Whatever works, both are things we really need to do anyway." She paused briefly. "How about we just look around the territory a bit before deciding? See how much game there is, how big it truly is, and where the boundaries are. Then we'll make our decision based off that." It was rather rare that they got to choose what they were doing - usually they'd be assigned it at birth - but then, Kodu didn' know them, and could hardly assign them something when he had no idea what they were good at. Another point in the favour of the alpha. On the way down the slope, however, Nikolai came ambling up to them - somewhat excitedly, if Lidiya could read his posture. "Morning, you two. Sleep well?" Without waiting for them to reply, Nikolai continued his babble of word soup. "I was just about to go out on another patrol of the western border, I mean I saw you coming out of the Alpha's den, maybe he could post you on patrol too - " the words kept coming, " - but well I guess it's your decision right?" He said it almost as if the question had just occured to him. Without leaving space for them to answer, he hurried on. "Well, whatever. I'm sure you'll find the right place for you eventually. Well, I'll be off for now, maybe see you in a bit!" The whirlwind of words and sound that Nikolai was essentially ran away with the force of a tornado, and Lidiya looked at Kodak with a slight knowing but amused look as Nikolai made his way out of the camp faster than was strictly necessary.

Kodak nodded at Lidiya's words. "We can do that, I'll just stop by the stream first and get a drink, and then we'll be on our way." Kodak stayed by Lidiya's side as they veered towards the stream, when all of a sudden Nikolai appeared. Kodak was about to respond when Nikolai continued his words. He would have to get accustomed to this. Nikolai left no gaps in his words as he rambled on, and once he finished, and once again gave them no opportunity to respond, he ran off. Kodak shrugged, and turned to Lidiya. "I guess this guy is all talk." He said smiling. He was going to suggest that they follow him. But the way Nikolai left told him that he didn't want to be followed. "We can ask him to guide us some other time. But let's go." He headed down to the stream, and took a few drinks before raising his head. Hw stretched his muscles a but in anticipation, and looked once again to Lidiya. "After you. Where do you want to go?" He asked, awaiting her response.

Lidiya paused briefly before replying. "... I don't really know." Genuinely, she still didn't know how they could fit into this new pack they were in. She was still thinking when she realized she was thinking we. Not just I like she usually did. She was actually factoring Kodak into her life now. Somehow. Despite they'd met barely a week ago, and most of the time they'd known each other, she'd been in heat. Which wasn't helping. "Maybe we could have a bit oof a look around today, then decide tomorrow?" She was delaying the inevitable by grasping at straws, she realized. But, despite her personality, she... didn't want to leave this status quo. Which encompassed her and Kodak. Aware that she needed water, she also took a drink of the water that Kodak had drank from a few seconds ago, gracefully dipping her head to the surface of the water before glugging some of it down. She scent-marked with her pee far too much recently. In fact- - yet again. Lidiya could remember her mother doing that when she went into heat too. She nearly choked on water, thinking about her mother yet again. Thinking about her would be pointless, but it was a thing nonetheless. She never forgot it, or the description that Cooper had given her. Not that she'd ever find whoever it was, but it was something tucked away at the corner of her mind, waiting for someone to fit the description. Finishing her drink, she looked at Kodak, before jerking her head outwards to the right. "Come on. Don't you think we have a right to explore a little? I'm sure Kodu won't mind." She smiled a little bit, fully back in the zone of true Lidiya. Going off and "doing her own thing", yet again.

Kodak smiled. "Whatever you like m'lady." He teased, giving another stretch. He couldn't help but stare as she dipped her head gracefully to the water, and quickly looked away as she put it back up. He gave his head a slight nod, giving another toothy grin. "I say you lead the way. I know you love doing your own thing. I'll just follow." It still felt weird doing this, as his status in his psck.. former pack was one of leadership. He used to always think he was dominant Ober everyone. Now not only was he nothing in this pack. Lidiya and him were technically equals back in their own packs. Even though they hadn't known it. Both were heirs to their.. former packs thrones. It still felt weird, but as he got to know Lidiya, he could really care less. But thinking of the thrones got to Kodak. He still hadn't found his father's killer. And at this pace, he never would. He knew for a fact it wasn't Cooper. He had went looking for a scent, but most had been washed away from the rain that happened soon after. All he knew was that it was certainly a female scent. The enemy he had been searching for would now completely slip from his grasp. Part of him just wanted to ask Lidiya about it. She was part of that pack, and she seemed to know most of what had gone on there. The killer would have had to boast about killing the neighboring pack Alpha, and so everyone would know who that Wolf was, including Lidiya. But he also wouldn't know how she would react to him asking, curiosity? Understanding? Hatred? Because of his darhers death Kodak had almost always led the front lines, and he knew he would be a target for most. But Lidiya had also just allowed him near her, and he didn't want to give her another reason to push him away.
